THE SOURCE OF IT ALL
HIS GLORY WITNESSED
“…The …[indwelling]
...HOLY SPIRIT …is the SOURCE of [your EMPOWERED obedience]… (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…It is …God [the
indwelling Holy Spirit] ... who does the work IN and THROUGH all of us who
are his… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…The [indwelling]...HOLY
SPIRIT DISPLAYS God’s power THROUGH [you] … (1 Corinthians
12:4-11 NLT). “…It is God who works in [you]… to will (to desire to
obey)
and to act (to actually obey) in order to fulfill his good purpose...” (Philippians 2:13
NIV). “….Apart from [Jesus,
the indwelling Holy Spirit], you can do nothing…” (John
15:5 NIV).
*
The
SOURCE of it ALL is God, the Holy Spirit.
“…GOD “IS” SPIRIT…”
(John 4:24 KJV). God EXISTS as Spirit. “…God is not human “…God is Spirit …” (Numbers 23:19 NIV & John 4:24 KJV). “… “I
AM” WHO I AM…”
(Exodus 3:14-15 NASB). “….Apart from [the indwelling Holy Spirit], you can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
“…He that is joined
unto the LORD is ONE SPIRIT…” (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24
KJV).
“…Your body [becomes]... the temple of the
Holy ...[Spirit]... which is in you…” (1 Corinthians 6:19
KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24
KJV).
“ …The Spirit of God dwelleth in you…”
(1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…”
(John 4:24 KJV). “…God
hath said, I
will dwell in them…” (2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV).
“…He that is joined
unto the LORD is ONE SPIRIT…” (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV). “…There ... [is] … …one … who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus…” (1 Timothy 2:5 NLT). “… [The person who]… is joined
(RECONCILED) unto ...[Christ Jesus]... is ONE spirit… [again
with God, the Holy Spirit]” (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV).
“…Therefore
if any man (woman) be in Christ, he (she) is a NEW creature …” (2
Corinthians 5:17 KJV). “… All things are …
[MADE] … NEW…” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV). “…I will
put a new spirit (BREATHE OF LIFE) in you. …”
(Ezekiel 36:26 NLT). “... and man (woman) became a living soul (soul AGAIN)…” (GENESIS 2:7 KJV). “…By the GRACE of
God I am what I am…” (1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV).
The believer’s
SPIRITUAL LIFE comes from God, the Holy
Spirit, and apart from God, the Holy
Spirit, they can do NOTHING spiritual. God, the Holy Spirit is the SOURCE of it all. “….Apart from [the indwelling Holy
Spirit], you can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).“…The …[indwelling]
...HOLY SPIRIT …is the
SOURCE of [your SPIRITUAL
LIFE]… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
“…It is …God [the indwelling Holy Spirit] ... who does the work IN and THROUGH all of us who are his… (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…The [indwelling]...HOLY
SPIRIT DISPLAYS God’s power THROUGH [you] … (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…It is
God who works in [you]… to will (to
desire to give God glory) and to act (to
actually give HIM glory) in order to fulfill his good purpose...”
(Philippians 2:13 NIV). “….Apart
from [Jesus, the indwelling Holy Spirit], you
can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
“…GOD IS SPIRIT…”
(John 4:24 KJV). “…the
Holy Spirit gives birth to SPIRITUAL LIFE…” (John 3:6 NLT). “...The Spirit GIVES life...”
(John 6:63 NIV). “...He is
... God (the Holy Spirit IS THE
ONE) who made the world and everything
in it ...He himself gives life (spiritual life) and breath (existence) to everything..” (Acts 17:24-25 NLT).“...[God’s]
…Holy Spirit …is the SOURCE [of it
ALL]…” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
The
indwelling Holy Spirit is the SOURCE
of your SPIRITUAL LIFE. Anything you do, perform, or how you behave; big or
small or anything you say, speak, preach, or teach; inspiring or motivational, for
God’s GLORY begins with the SOURCE. “...[God’s] …Holy Spirit
…is the SOURCE [of it ALL]…” (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
“…The trouble is with me, for I am all too
human, a slave to [the sin nature].
…I don’t really understand myself, for I
want to [give God glory] …but I don’t
[choose to depend upon God’s indwelling
SPIRITUAL LIFE]... Instead, I do what I hate. So I am not the one
doing wrong; it is [the sinful nature]… living in me that does it. And
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to [give
God glory] … [which]… is right, BUT I
CAN’T…Who will
free me from
this life that is dominated by [the sin nature which has NEVER obeyed God]?”
(Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
“…The
sinful nature
is always
hostile to God). It (the sin
nature) never did obey
God’s laws,
and it never will…” (Romans
8:1-14 NLT).
Thus, “...Who
will free me from
this life that is dominated by [the hostile, disobedient sin nature]?”
(Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
“…The
answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT). “…Jesus Christ is IN YOU…” (2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV).“…my helper and my savior…”
(Psalms 40:17 NLT). “….Apart
from [Jesus]…[you] ...CAN DO NOTHING…”
(John 15:5 NIV). “….Apart from [the indwelling spiritual life],.. [you]… can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
Apart, from the SOURCE, the indwelling Holy Spirit, the believer can
do NOTHING spiritual.
The proclaimed believer
CAN’T, on their own, produce spiritual fruit. “…The fruit of the Spirit (the righteous
conduct of the Holy Spirit) is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in [y]our lives….” (Galatians 5 NLT). “…The
Spirit of God dwell in you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV).
If
Jesus needed the Holy Spirit and Power in
order to do good works, that glorified God, so does the believer. “…God (the Holy Spirit) anointed (empowered) Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and
POWER, and …he went around ... doing good
and healing all (HOW?)...because …God [the invisible holy spirit]… was with him…”
(Acts 10:38 NIV).
“…The [Holy] ...Spirit … anointed [empowered JESUS] to preach the gospel to the poor ... [empowered him] to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty
them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord…”
(John 4:16-21 KJV).
“… [Jesus was EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit and
he] went about doing
good,
and healing all that were oppressed of the devil…”
(Acts 10:38-39 KJV).
“...Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit...” (John 15:1-10 KJV). “…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). "...[when you bear “much fruit” you] ...PROVE to be My
disciples...” (John 15:8 NIV).
“…The …HOLY
SPIRIT…is the SOURCE of [spiritual fruit]. …”
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in [y]our lives….” (Galatians 5 NLT).
"… [The]… Father is glorified (his presence, power, and goodness is made
known or WITNESSED) by this, [when]...“YOU” bear much fruit, and so PROVE to be
[his]… disciples” (John 15:8).
However, “….Apart from [the indwelling Holy Spirit],.. [you]… can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
When it comes to giving God GLORY, all the fruitfulness,
WITNESSED, in the life of a believer, is ASCRIBED to the indwelling Holy Spirit and NOT to the human will or human,
finite power. “….Apart from [the indwelling Holy Spirit],.. [you]… can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
The AUTHENTIC ministries, services, works, or any Christian
activities the believer DOES, for the GLORY of God, begins with the INTIMATE,
covenant relationship with God, the Holy
Spirit. “….Apart from [the indwelling Holy Spirit],.. [you]… can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
The believer is in an ONE SPIRIT, INTIMATE, COVENANT, and
PRIVILEGED relationship with God, the
Holy Spirit, and it is “clearly” WITNESSED by the spiritual fruit, revealed “IN” and “THROUGH” their lives.“…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). "...[when believers bear “much fruit” they] ...PROVE to
be ...[god’s]... disciples...” (John 15:8 NIV).
“…Ye shall know [those in a
relationship with the indwelling Holy Spirit]… by their fruits…”
(Matthew 7:16 KJV). “…He (she) who ABIDES in Me and I in him, (her) he (she) bears
much fruit (much spiritual fruit)… ” (John
15:1-11 NASB). "…My
Father is glorified by this, that “YOU” bear much fruit (much spiritual fruit),
and so PROVE to
be My disciples” (John 15:8 NIV).
“…God ...does
the work IN AND THROUGH all of us
who are his (all believers, who belong
to him)… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “...This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person...” (2 Corinthians 5:14-18 NLT). “...we are HIS PEOPLE...” (Psalms 100:3 KJV).
Thus, “…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). "....The [indwelling] ...Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in [their]... lives …” (Galatians 5 NLT).
“…The...[indwelling]...
Holy Spirit gives birth to SPIRITUAL LIFE…”
(John 3:6 NLT).
“…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…The Spirit of God dwell[s]… in ...[the believer]…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…by the GRACE (his goodness, kindness, unmerited favor, etc.)
of God I am what I am…” (1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV).
“…God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son (the indwelling Holy Spirit) “INTO” [the believer’s
HEART]…” (Galatians 4:6
NASB). “…The Holy
Spirit gives birth to
SPIRITUAL LIFE…” (John 3:6 NLT).“…I will (God, the Holy
Spirit will)... put a new
spirit (NEW indwelling SPIRITUAL LIFE) in you (the believer)…”
(Ezekiel 36:26 NLT).
“…A man (woman) can
receive nothing [like the indwelling Holy Spirit], except it BE GIVEN him (her)
from heaven…” (John 3:27 KJV). “…The LORD
SHALL GIVE that which is good
(the indwelling Holy Spirit)…” (Psalms 85:12 KJV). “…Every
good GIFT (like the indwelling Holy Spirit) and every perfect GIFT (like
the indwelling Holy Spirit) is from above, and cometh down from the
Father of lights…” (James 1:17 KJV).
“…What do you have
(like the indwelling Holy Spirit) that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have
(like the indwelling Holy Spirit) is from God, why boast as though it (the indwelling Holy
Spirit) were not a gift?...”
(1 Corinthians 4:7 NLT).
“…You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit….” (Acts 2:38 NASB). “… It is … Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts and POWERS… (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
“…God has given [you]
HIS ...[indwelling]... Spirit as PROOF that … he [dwells]…in [you]…” (1
John 4:13 NLT). “…The
Spirit of God dwell[s]… in you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV).
(Hebrews 1:9 NASB).
“…Thanks
be unto God for his unspeakable GIFT (Jesus, the indwelling Holy Spirit)…”
(2 Corinthians 9:16 KJV). “…Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable GIFT[S]
(through Jesus, the indwelling Holy Spirit)…” (2 Corinthians 9:16 KJV). “ …We have this treasure (the indwelling Holy Spirit) “in” earthen vessels…” (2 Corinthians 4:6-7
KJV). “…[People will]… know (WITNESS)
that everything [you]… have (SPIRITUALLY) IS
A GIFT “FROM” [God, the Holy Spirit]…”
(John 17:6-9 NLT).
“…by the GRACE of
God I am what I am…” (1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV). “…by the GRACE of God [you are]…what [you are]…”
(1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV).
God’s Grace works for believers that are
AWARE their OWN fleshly, self-efforts PROFIT nothing. “…The flesh (self-effort) profiteth
nothing…” (John 6:63 KJV).
No
“man(woman) should glory” or boast
that they did or do ANYTHING to obtain or sustain the blessings of salvation
other than to trust in, depend upon, and cooperate with the instructions of God.
“…BY
GRACE have ye been saved through… FAITH;
and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God; NOT OF WORKS, that
no man (woman) should glory…” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).
Self-effort
will NOT produce the BLESSINGS freely offered in God’s WORD. “…Since it is through God’s kindness …[and] not by [your] good works. For in that case, God’s GRACE (kindness, blessings, unmerited favors, etc.)
would not be what it really is—free and undeserved…”
(Romans 11:5 NLT). “…For God saved us and
called us to
live a holy life. He
did this, not
because we DESERVED it (or earned it, or were worthy of it), but because that was his plan from
before the beginning of time—to
show us his GRACE (blessings, kindnesses, unmerited
favor, etc.) through Christ Jesus…” (2
Timothy 1:9 NLT).
God’s
BLESSINGS are received ONLY by trust in, dependency upon, and cooperation with
the indwelling Holy Spirit that DOES
the WORK of faith “IN” and “THROUGH” God’s authentic people. “…The …HOLY SPIRIT …is the SOURCE of [all spiritual fruit &
blessings]. …it is …God who does
the work IN and THROUGH all of us who are his (his authentic people).
The HOLY SPIRIT
DISPLAYS God’s power THROUGH each of us (his authentic people) …
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
TRUSTING
IN, DEPENDING UPON AND FOLLOWING OR COOPERATING WITH GOD INSTRUCTIONS, IN THIS FALLEN
WORLD,
MEANS YOU WILL FACE TROUBLE
(trials and tribulations). “...In the world ye
shall have tribulation...” (John 16:33 KJV). “... Here
on earth you will have many trials and
sorrows..." (John 16:44 NLT). “...Let
not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid...” (John 14:27
KJV). “...We must [go]...through much tribulation [to]...enter into the kingdom of God..” (Acts 14:22 KJV).
“...despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved
us...” (Romans 8:37 NLT).
BECAUSE “OVERWHELMING
VICTORY IS OURS,” God’s PEOPLE NEVER GIVE UP. “…That is
why we never give up ...our
present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they
produce for us a glory that
vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
(2 Corinthians 4:16-17 NLT).
“...but be of good
cheer; I have overcome the world...” (John 16:33 KJV).
“...But take heart, because I have overcome the world..." (John 16:44 NLT).
“...Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid...” (John 14:27 KJV).
“...overwhelming
victory is ours through Christ...” (Romans
8:37 NLT).
“...In the world ye
shall have tribulation...” (John 16:33 KJV). “... Here
on earth you will have many trials and sorrows..." (John 16:44 NLT).
What trials, tribulations, and sorrows did
the Hebrew boys FACE? FIRST, they trusted in God’s
WORD. “...Thou shalt have no other gods before me...” (Exodus 20:1-4 KJV). “...Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,
or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth
beneath, or that is in the water under the earth...” (Exodus 20:1-4
KJV).
SECOND, they were threatened, by the KING
and his ARMY, to compromise God’s WORD. “...Then Nebuchadnezzar in his
rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they
brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is
it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor
worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if ye be ready that at what
time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I
have made; well: but if ye
worship not, ye shall be cast
the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God
that shall deliver you out of my hands?...” (Daniel 3:13-19 KJV).
THIRD, they decided to trust in God and
depend upon his WORD nonetheless. “...Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are
not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery
furnace, and he will deliver
us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto
thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up...” (Daniel 3:13-19 KJV).
FORTH, the Hebrew Boys FACED and ENDURED
being thrown into a fiery furnace WHETHER than to worship a graven image or any
other god, except their OWN. “… [King] …Nebuchadnezzar ... commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were
bound in their coats,
their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace ...these three men, Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, fell
down bound into the midst of the
burning fiery furnace…”
(DANIEL 3). “...In the world ye
shall have tribulation...” (John 16:33 KJV).
What trials, tribulations, and sorrows did
Job FACE? FIRST, Job was an man who trusted in God
and his WORD.“…my servant Job ...
there is none like him in the earth, a perfect (mature) and an upright man, one
that feareth God, and escheweth evil?...” (Job
2:3 KJV). “…a man's life consisteth not in the
abundance of the things which
he possesseth…”
(Romans 12:1 & Luke 12:15 KJV). “... Every good thing I have comes from you...” (Psalm 16:2 NLT).
SECOND, Job
experienced a tragic and horrible loss of his earthly family, earthly
possessions, and his health. “One day when Job’s ….donkeys were grazing nearby …the Sabeans attacked and made
off with them.…another messenger came and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens
and burned up the sheep and …another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans
formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and …yet another messenger came and
said, “Your sons
and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four
corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one
who has escaped to tell you!” (Job 1:13-20 NIV). .
“…Satan….smote Job with boils from
the sole of his feet unto his crown…” (Job 2:7 KJV).
THIRD, Job
decided to continue to trust and depend upon God, despite his losses. Job said, “…Naked I came from my
mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord…” Job 1:20-22 NASB).
Job also said, “...though he slay me, yet will I trust
in him…” (Job 13:15 KJV).
“…Through
all this Job did not sin nor did he
blame God…” (Job
1:20-22 NASB).
FORTH, Job
FACED and ENDURED pain and heartache over his losses WHETHER than distrust
or blame God “...Then Job
arose and tore his robe and shaved his head (OT behaviors for sadness, grief, or sorrow)…” (Job 1:20-22 NASB).
“...though he slay me, yet
will I trust in him…”
(Job 13:15 KJV). “...In the world ye
shall have tribulation...” (John 16:33 KJV).
What
trials, tribulations, and sorrows did Jesus FACE? FIRST, Jesus was SENT to earth
to become a RANSOM and the atoning sacrifice for mankind’s sins.“
...God
...sent His Son
to be the propitiation for our sins.”
(1 John 4:10 KJV). “….the Son of Man came...to give
his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28 NIV). “...He
(Jesus) is the
atoning sacrifice for our sins…” (1 John 2:2 NIV).
SECOND, Jesus was
threatened with death, by crucifixion, for truthfully proclaiming who he was
and that he was SENT by God. “Then Pilate
therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of
thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe. And
said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands….Then came Jesus
forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto
them, Behold the man! When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him,
they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them,
Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. But they cried out, Away with him, away
with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your
King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. Then delivered he
him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away…”
(John 19:1-16 KJV).
THIRD, Jesus decided to
continue to TRUST and DEPEND upon God to take CARE of his life, nonetheless. “…“He
committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” When they
hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no
threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly…”
(1 Peter 2:20-23 NIV).“… not my will, but
thine, be done…” (Luke 22:42 KJV).
FOURTH, Jesus FACED and
ENDURED the pain, disappointment, and shame of the crucifixion, whether than
discontinue DOING God’s Will. “….For Christ “PLEASED” NOT himself…” (Romans
15:3 KJV). “...he
entrusted himself to him who judges justly…” (1 Peter 2:20-23 NIV).“… nonetheless, not my will, but thine, be
done…” (Luke 22:42 KJV).
“…And he bearing his cross
went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the
Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him…” (John 19: 17-18 KJV).
“..After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that
the scripture might be fulfilled, saith ...he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost”
(John 19:28-30 KJV).
“…they came to Jesus, and
saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs ... one of the soldiers
with a spear pierced his side…” (John 19:31-37 KJV).
“…Then took
they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the
manner of the Jews is to bury
... Now in the place where he was crucified there was a
garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they
Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the
sepulchre was nigh at hand…” (John 19:38-42 KJV).
“… he
ENTRUSTED himself to him who judges justly…” (1 Peter 2:20-23 NIV). “…Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit…”
(Luke 23:46 KJV). “...In the world ye
shall have tribulation...” (John 16:33 KJV).
However, “..be of
good cheer; I have overcome the world...” (John 16:33 KJV).
“...take heart, because I have overcome the world..." (John 16:44 NLT).
“...Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid...” (John 14:27 KJV).
The bible says “be of good cheer,” “take heart,” and “let your
heart not be trouble or afraid,” because, through CHRIST JESUS, we have ALL
overcome the world.
When going through, trials
and tribulations, we FACE and ENDURE fiery furnaces, great losses, and personal
or costly sacrifices. Many may ASK “if” their experiences are truly victories,
what would DEFEAT look like?
CHRIST JESUS’ life was a victory,
but while, upon earth, it looked as if it was a defeat instead. “...When
they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he
made no threats…” (1 Peter 2:20-23 NIV).“… [They] ... scourged
him (Jesus). And the
soldiers platted
a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe ...and
they smote him
with their hands….Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of
thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! When
the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him,
crucify him...Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be
crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away…” (John 19:1-16 KJV).
He was severely TRIED, while
upon earth, and the ENEMY attempted to entice him to disobey God while in the
wilderness of life.“...Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted
by the devil...” (Matthew 4:1 NIV). “...he was in
the wilderness
forty days, being tempted by Satan...” (Mark 1:13 NIV). “... Then the devil took him up and revealed to
him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. “I will give
you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,” the devil said,
“because they are mine to give to anyone I please. I will give it all to you if you will
worship me.” Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’” Then the devil took him to
Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off!
For the Scriptures say ‘He
will order his angels to protect and guard you. And
they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t
even hurt your foot on a stone.’” Jesus responded, “The
Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test
the Lord your God.’” When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the
next opportunity came...” (Luke 4:5-13 NLT).“...Since he
himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested...” (Hebrews 2:18 NLT).
Jesus FACED, ENDURED, and
OVERCAME each test or temptation USING the Word of God as a SWORD. The POWER
that kept JESUS CHRIST strong was the
indwelling Holy Spirit. “…the Father that dwelleth in [Jesus],
he doeth the works…”
(John 14:10 KJV).
The TESTS, TEMPTATIONS, and
TRIALS God’s people FACE attempt to conquer them by taking them to the BRINK of
despair. God’s WORD has the power to sustain them no matter how faint it may
SEEM. “..be of good cheer...” (John 16:33 KJV). “...take
heart..." (John 16:44
NLT). “...Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid...” (John 14:27
KJV).
When on the BRINK, people
are FACING and ENDURING incredible sadness, sickness, loss, divorce, continuous
stresses, longsuffering struggles, the routines of hard situations, dashed
hopes, heartbreaking disappointments, and other ills of finite humanity that
lurk in a fallen world.
Being on the BRINK may feel
and “seem” like DEFEAT, but it is NOT! “..I have
overcome the world...” (John 16:33 KJV).“...I have
overcome the world..." (John 16:44 NLT). “...Let
not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid...” (John 14:27
KJV).
Jesus’ victory over tests,
trials, and temptations of the enemy is OUR victory too! “...The God of peace
will soon crush Satan under your feet...” (Romans 16:20 NLT). “... Because God’s children are human beings—made
of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human
being could he die, and only by dying
could he break the power of the devil, who had the
power of death ...” (Hebrews 2:14
NLT).
“...God
brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the
slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s
cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at
the Cross and marched them naked
through the streets...” (Colossians 2:14-15 MSG).
“...He canceled the record of the charges
against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and
authorities. He shamed them publicly
by his victory over them on the cross...” (Colossians 2:14-15 NLT).
“...every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through ... faith...(1 John 5:4 NLT). “..Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to
its knees is ...faith. The person who wins out over
the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God...” (1 John 5:4 MSG).
“... [Jesus]...spoiled principalities
and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them ...” (Colossians 2:15 KJV).
Christ was triumphant over
SATAN through his works upon the cross. “..After this, Jesus knowing that all things
were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith .., It is finished...”
(John 19:28-30 KJV). “...He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by
nailing it to the cross. In this way, he
disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross...” (Colossians 2:14-15 NLT).
“...We
know that we are God’s children, and that the
whole world lies under the power of the evil one”
(1 John 5:19 RSV). “...Who will free me
from this life that is dominated by sin?
…” (Romans
7:14-25 NLT).“...The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
“...He canceled the record of the charges
against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross....” (Colossians
2:14-15 NLT). “...he disarmed the spiritual rulers
and authorities....”
(Colossians 2:14-15 NLT). “...He shamed them publicly by his
victory over them on the cross...” (Colossians 2:14-15 NLT).
“...the whole world lies under the power of
the evil one...” (1
John 5:19 RSV). The “whole world” was held captive by the “evil one.” BUT,
Jesus FREE them by overcoming the evil one’s power, over mankind, through his
death. “...Who
will free me from this life that is dominated by sin? …” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT).“...The
answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT). “…if the Son shall make you FREE, ye shall be FREE
indeed.” (John 8:36 KJV).
Jesus CAME to SET
mankind FREE from sin and to DEFEAT “all” POWER the evil one had over them too. “...The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil...” (1 John 3:8 KJV). “...For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil...” (1
John 3:8 NASB). “... But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil...” (1 John 3:8 NLT).
Thus, “...No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…This is the
heritage of the servants of the Lord…” (Isaiah 54:17 KJV). Tragic things
can be formed (APPEAR, HAPPEN), but they won’t prosper! “….All things work together for good to them that love
God, to
them who are the called according to his purpose…”
(Hebrews 13:5 & ROMANS 8:28 KJV). “…ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good,…” (Genesis
50:20 KJV).
God, through Jesus,
defeated the ENEMY, so his people could be VICTORIOUS in LIFE. “...Who will free me from this life that is
dominated by sin? …” (Romans
7:14-25 NLT).“...The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT). “…if the Son shall make you FREE, ye shall be FREE
indeed.” (John 8:36 KJV).
“...overwhelming victory is ours
in christ ...” (Romans 8:37 NLT).
The ENEMY may bring FORTH
TROUBLES, in this FALLEN world, but through the victory of CHRIST JESUS, his
people, are promised victory over the ploys of the enemy.
“... But the Son of God came to destroy the
works of the devil...” (1 John 3:8 NLT). Therefore,
“...No
weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…”
(Isaiah 54:17 KJV).
“...overwhelming
victory is ours in christ ...” (Romans 8:37 NLT).
THE OVERWHELMING VICTORY OF
THE HEBREW BOYS CAME THROUGH THEIR OBEDIENCE AND IT WAS THE CATALYST THAT
“CHANGED AN ENTIRE NATION.” GOD’S GLORY (presence, power, & goodness) WAS
WITNESSED! “...every child of God defeats
this evil world, and ... achieve this victory through ... faith
(TRUST, DEPENDENCY, & COOPERATING WITH HIS INSTRUCTIONS)...(1 John 5:4 NLT).
“…Nebuchadnezzar
spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his
angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have
changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might
not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. Therefore I make a decree, That every
people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because
there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, in the province of Babylon”
(Daniel 3 KJV).
THE OVERWHELMING VICTORY OF
JOB CAME THROUGH HIS OBEDIENCE AND RESULTED IN TWO DOUBLE BLESSING; SPIRITUALLY
AND MATERIALLY. GOD’S GLORY WAS WITNESSED! “...Every child of God defeats this evil world, and ... achieve this victory through ... faith
(TRUST, DEPENDENCY, & COOPERATING WITH HIS INSTRUCTIONS)...(1 John 5:4 NLT). “... Then Job replied...“I know that you can
do anything, and no one can stop you (twice the respect for God’s sovereignty). I..”
(Job 42:1,6 NLT).“...now I have seen you with my own eyes (twice
the revelation knowledge of god)....” (Job
42:1,6 NLT). “...I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance (twice the humility)...” (Job
42:1,6 NLT). “…Also the Lord gave Job TWICE as much as he
had before. The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his
beginning…” (Job
42:10, 12 KJV).
THE OVERWHELMING VICTORY OF
JESUS CAME THROUGH HIS OBEDIENCE and made HIM the “SAVIOR” of the world. GOD’S
GLORY WAS WITNESSED! “...every child of God (even the
Son of God) defeats this evil world, and ... achieve this victory through ... faith
(TRUST, DEPENDENCY, & COOPERATING WITH HIS INSTRUCTIONS)...(1 John 5:4 NLT). “… He became author of eternal salvation unto all them who obey him…” (Hebrew 5:7-8-9 KJV).“...
his life [was made]... an offering for sin...” (Isaiah
53:10-11 NLT). “…My
righteous servant (Jesus) ...[made] ... it possible for many to be counted righteous,
for he [bore]... all
their sins…” (Isaiah 53:11 NLT). “… the
grace of
our Lord Jesus Christ .. though HE WAS [spiritually] RICH, yet for your
sakes he became [spiritually] poor,
that ye through his poverty might be
[spiritually] RICH…” (2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV). “...Christ
Jesus
came into the world to save sinners...” (1 Timothy 1:15 NLT). “...he is able, once and forever, to
save those who come to God
through him...” (Hebrews 7:25 NLT).
In addition,“…at ...the name of Jesus
EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, of things in heaven and things in earth, and things
under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father...”
(Philippians 2:10-11 KJV).
God’s GLORY was WITNESSED through the
OBEDIENCE of the HEBREW BOYS, JOB, and JESUS. “...overwhelming
victory ...[WAS THEIRS] ...” (Romans 8:37 NLT). “...Every child of God defeats this evil world, and ... achieve this victory through ... faith
(TRUST, DEPENDENCY, & COOPERATING WITH HIS INSTRUCTIONS)...(1 John 5:4 NLT).
GOD’s presence, his power, and goodness
was “clearly” SEEN in the way a whole nation was CHANGED to serve him, or in
the way one man’s life was doubly BLESSED spiritually and materially, or in the
way a WHOLE WORLD was PROVIDED with a SAVIOR that saves them from sin and
eternal damnation.
YOUR OBEDIENCE IS THE CATALYST THAT
BECOMES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR GOD’S GLORY TO BE WITNESSED IN “OVERWHELMING VICTORY” UPON EARTH!!
THEREFORE, “..be of
good cheer; I have overcome the world...” (John 16:33 KJV).
“...take heart, because I have overcome the world..." (John 16:44 NLT).
“...Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid...” (John 14:27 KJV).
“...overwhelming
victory is ours THROUGH CHRIST! ...” (Romans 8:37 NLT).
“...Every child of God defeats this evil world, and ... achieve this victory through ... faith
(TRUST, DEPENDENCY, & COOPERATING WITH HIS INSTRUCTIONS)...(1 John 5:4 NLT).
