TRANSFORMING LOVE (GOD SPEAKS TO YOU, PART 1)

CHAPTER 6
PART 1
GOD SPEAKS TO YOU

“…[he has]… spoken unto us by His Son…” (HEBREWS 1:1-2).

*

HE SPEAKING TO Y O U!!!!
After God chooses you, draws you, gives you a ‘measure of faith’, loves you, changes your identity; he speaks to you
In the beginning of the YADA relationship you most likely won’t hear the audible voice, but you will hear God speak through his “written” voice.
There is one surefire way God speaks immediately to you and that’s through the WORD, which is also Jesus:
Jesus is the word. “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14 NIV) Also, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, …” (Hebrews 1:1-2).
THE WORD OF GOD SPEAKS TO YOU
By faith you received the written word of God, “…not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe…” (1Thessalonians 2:13 NIV).  The Holy Scriptures, the written voice of God and Jesus are the vehicles in which God speaks to you personally.
This communication is essential for maintaining the YADA relationship. Privately, reading God’s word, meditating on his word, memorizing the word, praying the word, declaring the word, listening to the word, preaching the word, studying the word, or being taught the word are ways to hear God’s written voice.
And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, [and to progressively understand His plan with clarity and power] and to see the Righteous One [Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and to hear a message from His [own] mouth” (Acts 22:14 AMP).
the Holy Spirit
Seeing Jesus’ living example through the scriptures are all means by which God speaks to you. Just like God gave you a “measure of faith” to help you believe.  God has given you the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth (John 16:13). Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (John 16:13).
God took care of everything. God left nothing to chance. God desired for you to hear his voice through the written word and took full responsibility to ensure you could communication with Him through his Spirit. God’s words are not human, but “….are spirit and are life…” (John 6:63).
The written voice of God always builds faith when you utilizing the Holy Scriptures. This is how God speaks to you and a two-way dialogue ensues. God speaks to you through the written voice of God and you speak back to God through prayer.
GOD SPEAKS AND YOU SPEAK
Prayer is not just about making petitions, but it is also how you speak back to God. It’s a relationship. God speaks, you listen or you speak and God listens. “….call upon me and go and pray to me and I will LISTEN to you…” (Jeremiah 29:12-13). Any healthy, strong relationship will have good communication.
God doesn’t speak English, but a Holy language. Why does he want to communicate or speak to you anyway? God ways are not like your ways nor are his thoughts like your thoughts, so what purpose does God speak to you? God speaks to you in order for the two of you to grow closer to each other in the YADA relationship.
God also speaks to you to as a way to maintain a continual connection with you and to communicate the depth of his love. God wants you to know him NOT just know about him (intellectually) (John 17:3). Therefore, God communicates to believers through his written voice (the Word) and (Jesus).
In addition, God speaks to believers about their new created self and teaches them how to walk in the newness of life. He speaks about how committed he is to you. Every time God says “I will” he is expressing the things he is committed to do for you within the YADA relationship.
Here are a few things God promises to do, but there are many, many more.  You can make your own personal list as you study the Word. Use this list to start hearing the written voice of God to you personally. His written promises confirm his awesome love for YOU:
PROMISES
1.     I will supply all of your needs according to MY riches (Philippians 4:19).
2.     I will totally accept you “in” Christ (Ephesian 1:6).
3.     I will be your provider (Philippians 4:19, Psalm 68:10).
4.     I will be your defense (Psalm 18:2, 89:18, 94:22, 7:10, Isaiah 25:4)
5.     I will protect you by watching over your life (Psalm 121:7, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Isaiah 41:10).

When God spoke to King David and promised what he would do for him, King David responded to God. He responded to God by saying or doing one of the following statements:
KING DAVID SPEAKS TO GOD
  1. I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me” (Psalm 13:6 SONG).
  2. I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night” (Psalm 16:8 PRAISE).
  3. I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken” (Psalm 16:7 WORSHIP)
  4. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my innermost self] rejoices; My body too will dwell [confidently] in safety” (Psalm 16:9 HEART, BODY & PRESENCE).
  5. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore”(Psalm 16:11 DESIRE TO LIVE RIGHT).
According to the above verses, King David responded to God’s communication to him through song, praise, worship, in his heart, with his body, by being aware of his presence, and through his desire to live right. True communication with God starts with hearing the written voice of God and responding by faith and in acts of obedience.
When you truly “hear” God’s written voice it will manifest through your actions (faith and obedience). King David responded by faith and obedience. His actions gave glory to God for the great things he’d done.
JOHN 10:27
"For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary"
(Psalm 96:4-6).
You can hear his voice, right now, through his written word and follow him.My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27).
