“… We now have this light shining in our hearts (part of the SOUL), but we ourselves are
like fragile clay jars containing this great
treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is
from God, not from ourselves…” (2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT).
God said: “…I will
put a
new spirit in you (in order to recondile with the soul). …” (Ezekiel 36:26 NLT). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…”
(ohn 4:24 KJV). “…God is love…” (1
John 4:4-8 KJV). “…The Spirit of God dwell[s]… in
you (is joined to the SOUL)…”
(Romans 8:9 KJV).
Let’s do a little review on the
SOUL. THE SOUL is the REAL YOU. The soul is the authentic
self. The authentic self includes the emotions, affections, appetites,
conscience, personality, and HEART/THOUGHTS (command center of the SOUL).
The heart/thoughts are the command center
of the SOUL. The soul’s HEART/THOUGHTS listens to, or teams up with, or agrees
with, or is influenced by either the Holy
Spirit or the sinful nature to live-out or follow certain lifestyles. “…If two … shall agree on earth as
touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father
which is in heaven…” (Matthew 18:19 KJV).
“....Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3 KJV).
The HEART/THOUGHTS are
initially influenced completely by the sinful nature and require TRANSFORMATION. “…Be transformed by the renewing of your mind [The command center of YOUR
SOUL)….” (Romans 12:2 KJV).
The body, soul, and God’s Holy Spirit were once ONE UNIT or
in a SPIRITUAL union or covenant relationship TOGETHER.
In the beginning man’s heart/thoughts
were TOTALLY influenced by God’s Holy
Spirit. Man’s heart/thoughts were HOLY (set apart and totally FREED from
sin).
Before SIN entered into the
world, mankind ONCE had the FREEDOM to choose to follow God’s HOLY instructions
or become led away or separate from him by following after the enticements of
the FLESH.
Following after the
enticements of the FLESH led them away or separated them from God and his
POWER. “… [their] … iniquities (sin) …separated
[them]… from God… …”
(Isaiah 59:2 KJV).
It is the Holy Spirit who
EMPOWERS man’s SOUL to be FREE to CHOOSE between right and wrong. Their FREEDOM to choose to follow
God’s Holy instructions was LOST to the EVIL ONE. The EVIL ONE was now the
MASTER of man’s SOUL through their OWN choices. “….When you offer yourselves to someone as
obedient slaves (to willfully choose to follow them), you are slaves of the one you obey (choose to follow)…” (Romans 6:16
NIV). “…I am …. a slave
to sin.. …” (Romans
7:14-25 NLT).
They NO longer had the
SPIRITUAL ABILITY TO “CHOOSE” holiness. WHY? “…and SIN, when it is finished,
BRINGETH FORTH DEATH (Spiritual death)…”
(James 1:13-15 NLT). “…The
trouble is with me, for I am all too
human (now. I have "no" indwelling spiritual power to choose righteousness), [I am]...a slave to sin … I want
to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. So I am
not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do
what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
Without the God, the Holy Spirit's POWER, that empowers mankind with the FREEDOM to choose righteousness, the SOUL will be dominated by the flesh and become in bondage to it. What is the SOUL in BONDAGE to? THE EVIL ONE.“… We know … that the
whole world lies under the power (BONDAGE, DICTATORSHIP) of the evil
one” (1 John 5:19 RSV).
It is the FREEDOM to choose between righteousness and sin, that God RESTORES through SALVATION.
The freedom to choose righteousness (keeping God's commandments) was first witnessed when God gave Adam and Eve ONE Holy instruction to follow. He said: “…of every tree of the garden thou mayest
freely eat: But of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, thou SHALT NOT EAT of
it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof THOU SHALT SURELY “DIE” …”
(Genesis 2:16-17 KJV).
Of course, Adam and Eve
EXERCISED their FREEDOM to CHOOSE. They did not CHOOSE God’s Holy instruction. They
were immediately separated FROM God, the Holy Spirit (oil and water DON’T mix),
which CAUSED “THEIR” absolute and complete Spiritual DEATH. “…Every man is tempted, when he (or she) is drawn away
of his (or her) own lust, and enticed. Then
when lust hath conceived, it BRINGETH FORTH SIN: and sin, when it is finished,
BRINGETH FORTH DEATH…” (James 1:13-15
NLT). “…through
one man SIN entered into the world, and DEATH THROUGH SIN, and so DEATH passed to all men—“(Romans 5:12
KJV).
Adam and Eve became “…SEPARATED
from the (spiritual) LIFE of God…” (Ephesians 4:18 NIV). “…It is the [Holy] SPIRIT who gives (spiritual) LIFE…” (John
6:63 NASB). “… [Their] … iniquities (sin) …SEPARTED
[them]… from God (LIFE)… …”
(Isaiah 59:2 KJV). “…All have sinned and fallen SHORT of the GLORY of God (of his HOLY
presence, goodness, & power)…” (Romans 3:23). “…the wages of sin is
death (spiritual death)…” (Romans 6:23 KJV). “…and SIN, when it is finished,
BRINGETH FORTH DEATH (spiritual death)…” (James 1:13-15
NLT).
Without God’s Holy Spirit mankind’s only has their body and an existing, but dead
soul, but NOT God’s Spirit. They became DEAD souls. “…the
body without (apart from) the
spirit is dead…”
(James 2:26 KJV) “…DEAD in [their] trespasses and sin” (Ephesians 2:1 KJV). “…when [you] were DEAD in
sins …” (Ephesians 2:1-5 KJV). “…YOU (YOUR SOUL)… were DEAD in your transgressions
and sins…” (Ephesians 2:1 NIV). Like the prodigal son, “… [YOU (YOUR SOUL) were]…. DEAD and [you have been made]… ALIVE AGAIN; [you were]… lost and [have
been]… found…” (Luke 15:24 NIV). “…Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you (soul) were DEAD …”
(Romans 6 NLT).
The DEAD SOUL is no
longer influenced or empowered by God’s HOLY
Spirit. The SOUL that is SEPARATED from God’s
Holy Spirit is POWERLESS and LIFELESS. All
lifestyles that men and women display outwardly originate from A SOUL,
which is influenced and empowered by the flesh, which has become a sinful
nature. It is“… from
within (from the SOUL), out of the heart (out of the
command center of the SOUL) of man (woman), proceed evil thoughts…these
… come from within (from the SOUL), and defile a person.” (Mark 7:21-23
KJV). The heart (command center of the SOUL) “…is deceitful above all
things and desperately wicked…who can know it…” (Jeremiah 17:9 KJV). "…Offspring
of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart (out of the command center
of the SOUL) the mouth speaks. The good man, out of his good treasure,
brings forth good things, and the evil man, out of his evil treasure, brings
forth evil things." (Matthew 12:34-35 ).
“…So I say, let the Holy Spirit (IF
you have the indwelling Holy Spirit) guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature
(body) craves. The sinful nature (body) wants to do evil, which is just the opposite
of what the [Holy] Spirit wants. And the [Holy] Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite
of what the sinful nature (body) desires. These TWO FORCES are constantly fighting each other, so you are not
free to carry out your good intentions.
…When you follow the
desires of your sinful nature (body), the RESULTS are very clear: sexual
immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility,
quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger,
selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like
these. Let me tell you again, as I have before,
that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit
produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his
cross and crucified them there…”
(Galatians 5 NLT).
THE EXISTING, DEAD SOUL
has “NO” spiritual ability, spiritual influence, spiritual power, spiritual
connection, or SPIRITUAL LIFE. The BODY,
without God’s HOLY SPIRIT is DEAD.
“…the body without
(apart from) the
spirit is dead…”
(James 2:26 KJV).
“…[YOU
(SOUL) ARE] DEAD in [your] trespasses and sin” (Ephesians 2:1 KJV). “…When you [are an EXISTING, DEAD SOUL]… the RESULTS are very clear:
sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish
ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these…” (Galatians 5 NLT). “… Or do you not know that the unrighteous will
not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor
the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the
kingdom of God.…” (1 Corinthians 6:9 NASB).
The SINFUL NATURE DICTATES
the ORIENTATION of EVERY SIN the SOUL of man (woman) has an INCLINATION towards.
“the whole world lies under the power [that
dictates “their” orientation for sin is] of the evil one” (1
John 5:19 RSV).
An ORIENTATION for SIN
means the SOUL takes the position of or moves in the direction of particular SINS
that the SINFUL NATURE dictates for them. “the
whole world lies under the power [that dictates “their” orientation for
sin is] of the evil one” (1 John 5:19 RSV).
An ORIENTATION for SIN,
dictated by the SINFUL NATURE and INFLUENCED by the POWER of the EVIL ONE,
means the SOUL becomes familiar with, adapts to, adjusts to, or develops
attitudes, beliefs, and feelings about or for particular SINS. “… MEN LOVED
DARKNESS RATHER THAN LIGHT, …”
(John 3:18-20 KJV).
An ORIENTATION for particular SINS
start to DEVELOP at an EARLY AGE in order, for the EVIL ONE to GAIN a
STRONGHOLD of CONTROL over the SOUL from the BONDAGE to those particular SINS through the
FLESH. “the whole world lies under the power (the
sinful orientations) of the evil one” (1 John 5:19 RSV).
The SOUL becomes a
SLAVE to particular SINS. “The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin…”
(Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
Some ORIENTATIONS for
SIN are OBVIOUS to the human eye and others are HIDDEN. “…When you [have an ORIENTATION
for SIN]… the RESULTS are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful
pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling,
jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
envy, drunkenness, wild
parties, and other sins like these…”
(Galatians 5 NLT). “…neither [those with the ORIENTATION of]
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will
inherit the kingdom of God.…” (1 Corinthians 6:9 NASB).
SOME ORIENTATIONS people will support their CULTIVATION, others they will
attempt to WEED out, before DOMINATION of that SIN (murder, lying, stealing,
hate, prejudice, intolerance, manipulation, etc.) takes place! “…The trouble is with me, for
I am all too human, a slave to sin. I don’t really
understand myself, for I want to do what
is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does
it. And I know that NOTHING GOOD lives
in me, that is, in my sinful nature … Who will free me from this life
that is dominated
by sin? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus
Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
HOWEVER,
the hidden SINS are the MOST neglected and the ORIENTATION for hidden SIN takes
place LONG before they are discovered. “……
the RESULTS are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish
ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these…”
(Galatians 5 NLT).
Without God, the HOLY
SPIRIT, all MANKIND has is a DEAD, existing SOUL with a SINFUL NATURE that
develops them through various ORIENTATIONS for a particular SIN, which creates
a BARRIER or CHASM between them and God, the HOLY SPIRIT. “…The trouble is with me, for I am all too human,
a slave to sin … I want
to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. So I am
not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do
what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t…” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT). “… We know … that the
whole world lies under the power (BONDAGE, DICTATORSHIP) of the evil
one” (1 John 5:19 RSV).
God is by nature is SPIRIT and humans are by
nature are SINFUL. “…GOD IS
SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…I
am all too human,
a slave to sin.. …” (Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
God, the HOLY SPIRIT
could NOT JOIN himself to SINFUL man. Therefore, God, the Holy Spirit, could NOT have a relationship with SINFUL man,
even though he LOVINGLY desired too.
Like OIL and WATER; HOLINESS and SIN “DON’T,
CAN’T, and WON’T join together. Thus, the
Holy Spirit separated from man. “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24
KJV). “… [SINFUL humanity’s] … iniquities …separated [them]… from God… …”
(Isaiah 59:2 KJV).
God, the HOLY Spirit and SINFUL mankind are
SO DIFFERENT, by NATURE, there is an impenetrable CHASM between THEM. “…between us (the spiritual world) and you (the natural world) [there
is] a great chasm
(barrier) [that] has been set in place…” (Luke 16:22-25 NASB). “… [Their] … iniquities (sin) …separated [them]… from God… …”
(Isaiah 59:2 KJV). “…and SIN, when it is finished, BRINGETH FORTH
DEATH…” (James 1:13-15 NLT). “…The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23 KJV).
Without the HOLY SPIRIT mankind “IS” “…separated
from the [HOLY] LIFE of God…” (Ephesians 4:18 NIV). “…It is the [Holy] SPIRIT who gives (spiritual) LIFE…” (John
6:63 NASB).
Before you are SAVED and RESTORED, you are
a SOUL dead in your SINS. “…YOU (SOUL)… [are]
DEAD in your … sins…” (Ephesians 2:1 NIV). “…YOU
[are] dead in your sins and ...
[IT IS]…God [the Holy Spirit] [that MAKES] you ALIVE [through] Christ (the WORD OF GOD).
[God, the Holy Spirit forgives and
cleanses you from]… all [your]… sins [which removes the barrier)…”
(Colossians 2:13 NIV). God, the
HOLY SPIRIT, makes “… [you (SOUL)]… ALIVE! … [You
(SOUL)]… were DEAD in transgressions…” (Ephesians 2:5 NIV). Like the
prodigal son, “… [YOU (SOUL) were]…. DEAD and [you (SOUL) have been MADE]… ALIVE AGAIN; [you (SOUL) were]… lost
and [have been]… found…” (Luke 15:24 NIV).
“….YOU (the SINFUL nature YOU or your DEAD SOUL) USED TO LIVE in
sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying (dominated by the
orientation for sin through the power of) the devil—the commander of the
[sinful nature and the] powers (influences) in the unseen world. He
is the spirit at work in the hearts (SOULS) of those who refuse to obey God (or follow his instructions and
guidelines). All
of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of
our sinful nature (which orients SIN in our lives). ….just like everyone else…”
(Ephesian 2:2-3 NLT).
God is SPIRIT. God is a
SPIRITUAL being. God, the HOLY SPIRIT is TOTALLY separated and SET APART from
SIN. “…GOD IS SPIRIT…”
(John 4:24 KJV). “… I AM
HOLY…” (1 Peter 1:14-16 KJV). “… “I AM WHO I AM …” (Exodus 3:14-15 NASB). “…I
am the Lord, I change NOT…” (Malachi 3:6 KJV).
His HOLINESS means God
is TOTALLY set apart and absolutely FREE from SIN of ANY kind!! Thus, THE SPIRIT
CAN’T – not simply by CHOICE, but nature- JOIN or FELLOWSHIP with SIN at ALL!! “…what fellowship (COMMON GROUND) [can God, the
Holy Spirit have with SINFUL mankind?] …” (2
Corinthians 6:14-15 KJV). “…what
… hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion (COMMON GROUND) hath light with darkness? And
what concord (COMMON GROUND) hath Christ (the Word of TRUTH) with Belial (the
DEVIL or Father of LIES)? Or what part (COMMON GROUND) hath he that believeth
(depends upon God) with an infidel (one who doesn’t depend upon God)?”
(2 Corinthians 6:14-15 KJV).
The LOVING and
GRACE-FILLED truth is that God, the HOLY
SPIRIT wanted a relationship with mankind. He wanted to RESTORE them back
into a covenant UNION with him, so he CREATED a WAY to DO IT. “…God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son…” (John 3:16 KJV).
God “…spared not his own Son, [in order to
express DIVINE LOVE] but delivered him up for us all?” (Romans 8:32 KJV). “….God SHOWED HIS GREAT
LOVE FOR US by sending
Christ to die for us while we were still sinners…” (Romans 5:7-9 NLT). “…God is love…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV).). “…not
that we loved God,
but that [god] loved us...”
(1 John 4:10 KJV).
“…herein is love,
not that we loved God, but that [God] loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (substitute, intervention) for our
sins.” (1 John 4:10

God sent JESUS, THE HOLY WORD of God, to

declares the Lord…”

God is a “…restorer of thy life…”

God) is perfect, restoring the SOUL…”

GOD IS NOT LIKE HUMANS. God is SPIRIT. God
EXPRESSES, REVEALS, CONFIRMS his DIVINE nature and DIVINE power through his indwelling Holy Spirit and his Spiritual

alive) in him and he [dwells]…in [you] (is joined to you)…” (1 John 4:13 NLT). “…The

THE HOLY SPIRIT BONDS ME TO HIM THROUGH IMMUTABLE LOVE. “…God is love…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV). “…Love … the perfect BOND of UNITY...”
(Colossians 3:14 NASB).
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS

THE HOLY SPIRIT REJOINS ME “AGAIN” TO
HIMSELF IN AN “ONENESS” COVENANT RELATIONSHIP. “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…He that
is JOINED (in covenant with) unto the LORD is ONE SPIRIT…” (1
Corinthians 6:17 KJV).
THE HOLY SPIRIT MAKES ME
“RIGHT” WITH GOD. “…A
right relationship with God
that comes by faith…” (Romans 4:13 NASB).
God not only HEALED and RESTORED man’s
SOUL, but he JOINED himself to them in a LOVING, FAITHFUL COVENANT RELATIONSHIP
(SPIRIT and SOUL)!
