YOUR INFLUENCES ARE OBVIOUS
“…Moved
by the holy ghost… “(2
Peter 1:21 KJV).
*
“…For
the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake
as they were MOVED
BY THE HOLY GHOST…” (2 Peter 1:21 KJV). True prophecy came from
“holy men” who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
These men did not speak
from the origin of their own minds or hearts, but were INFLUENCED by the Holy
Spirit. “..Men and brethren, this
scripture must needs have been fulfilled, WHICH THE HOLY GHOST BY THE MOUTH OF DAVID SPAKE
before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus…” (Acts
1:16 KJV). “…But those things, WHICH GOD BEFORE HAD SHEWED BY THE MOUTH OF ALL HIS PROPHETS,
that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled…” (Acts 3:18 KJV).
They “…spake as they were MOVED BY THE HOLY GHOST…” (2
Peter 1:21 KJV). “Moved” implies they were influenced by the Holy Spirit as a
ship is influenced along by the wind. “…We
have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed,
as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day
star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any
private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will
of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost…”
(2 Peter 1:19-21 KJV).
Holy men spoke as they
were moved by God and WERE his willing vessels. “…Now all this was done, that it might be
fulfilled WHICH WAS
SPOKEN OF THE LORD “BY” THE PROPHET, saying…” (Matthew 1:22
KJV). “…And was there until the death of
Herod: that it might be fulfilled WHICH WAS SPOKEN OF THE LORD “BY” THE PROPHET,
saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son…” (Matthew 2:15 KJV).
“..Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, WHICH THE HOLY
GHOST BY THE MOUTH OF DAVID SPAKE before concerning Judas, which was
guide to them that took Jesus…” (Acts 1:16 KJV). “…But
those things, WHICH
GOD BEFORE HAD SHEWED BY THE MOUTH OF ALL HIS PROPHETS, that Christ
should suffer, he hath so fulfilled…” (Acts 3:18 KJV).
“…And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him,
and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders:
and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied,
and did not cease.…” (Numbers 11:25
KJV). “And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be
turned into another man…” (1
Samuel 10:6 KJV). “….And
when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God
came upon him, and he prophesied among them…” (1 Samuel 10:10
KJV). “…And Saul sent messengers to take
David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel
standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they
also prophesied….” (1 Samuel 19:20 KJV). “…And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he
went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah…” (1
Samuel 19:23 KJV). “…Before
I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the
womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then
said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a
child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a
child: for thou
shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou
shalt speak…”
(Jeremiah 1:6-8 KJV).
These prophets acted and spoke strictly under the influence
of the Holy Spirit. God has the POWER to activate and influence the mind, the actions, the heart, and the mouth of
mankind in order to reveal him-self through human vessels as witnessed in
scriptures from the prophets of old.
The scriptures are NOT reduced to simply a
book of pages, or a particular language, or a specific translation, or the
prophets who were used as vessels to deliver it, but it is the POWERFUL Holy Spirit
of God and the sustained message that matters. The sustained, holy, inspired
message has endured, in spite of flawed and corrupt humanity, for centuries and
is STILL the POWER of God unto salvation.
The hard copy of the bible itself can be
destroyed, buried, burned, and hidden, but the HOLY inspired message cannot be
stopped or contained. From the 1st century until this present day
the HOLY inspired message of God is still miraculously transforming lives.
The bible consists of a total of 66 books,
written by 40 different, diverse authors over a span of 1500 years, tells one
unified story, fulfills over 300 precise prophesies, contains thousands of promises;
and demonstrates its creative, sustaining, and supernatural power to intervene
and transform lives, situations, events, people, or circumstances. The bible is
recognized as the HOLY inspired Word of God. “All scripture is
given by inspiration (influence) of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV).
The bible records a history that reveals
who God is, how he has interacted with mankind, and his loving desire to have a
trusting, covenant relationship with HIS PEOPLE. Why was the bible written? “…For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our
learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have
hope” (Romans 15:4 KJV). “Now
all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the
world are come” (1 Corinthians 10:11 KJV).
Daniel in the Old Testament (Daniel 9:2)
mentioned the written word. Jesus in the New Testament (Luke 24:44, Matthew
21:42, & John 10:34) mentioned and quoted the written word. Apostle Paul
called the written word “the scriptures”
(Romans 15:4) and Jesus called it “the
law and prophets” (Luke 24:44).
Apostle Paul wrote most of the New
Testament and Peter called his writings “scriptures.”
“…As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these
things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are
unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do
also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction…”(2
Peter 3:16 KJV).
There are many versions
and translation of the bible. People question its authenticity, reliability,
and wonder if it can be trusted. I say “Yes it can.” Even though much of the
original texts are lost, they were copied by dedicated people of God to a high
degree of accuracy. Further, God’s Word is not the hard copy book of pages, the
language, the translation, the version, or the conglomeration of grammar, but
it is the HOLY Spirit of God’s, indestructible, message of LOVE!
In addition, “the Almighty
God is SO powerful that in spite of flawed humanity, he, ALONE, can sustain the
gospel message, and miraculously transmits it throughout the generations. “…The Son is ….sustaining all things by his powerful
word…” (Hebrews 1:3 NIV). “…Heaven
and earth shall pass away, but my words SHALL NOT pass away…” (Matthew 24:35
KJV). HIS WORDS OR HIS MESSAGE CAN'T BE KILLED!!
People are still being
saved, experiencing miracles, and being transformed. The bible itself or the
Word has been attacked, burned, buried, hidden, destroyed, and crucified more than any other book in history, yet it is
still the most published book to this day. “…MY words SHALL NOT
pass away…” (Matthew 24:35 KJV). GOD'S WORD WILL "NOT" PASS AWAY. GOD'S WORD CAN "NOT" BE KILLED! JESUS IS THE LIVING WORD AND THE WORD IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE!!
I believe in the authenticity
and reliable of the God’s sustainable message of truth, not simply by second
hand knowledge, but because it has personally transformed my life, The
sustaining Gospel message has inspired me, helped me understand life, directed
me, revealed God to me, and answered
many of my questions about life. “…The Son is ….sustaining all things by his powerful WORD…” (Hebrews 1:3 NIV).
The inspired gospel
message informs me about God’s love for me, helps me love others, and gives me
a purpose for living. The inspired gospel message pointed me to salvation, a
relationship with God, and eternal life.
The inspired gospel
message has proven to be a sustainable love letter from God, a revelation of
his very being, and the evidence of his presence in the world. The inspired gospel message
has been a reliable way to hear God speak and communicate his ongoing,
sustainable love, strength, support, hope, joy, direction, etc. “…The law of the LORD
is perfect, restoring the soul; The
testimony of the LORD is sure, making
wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the
LORD is clean, enduring forever; The
judgments of the LORD are true; they are
righteous altogether. They are more
desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, by them Your servant is warned.
In keeping them
there is great reward …” (Psalm 19:7-11 NASB).
“All scripture is
given by INSPIRATION of God,
and is PROFITABLE for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16
KJV). “…For the prophecy
came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were
MOVED BY THE
HOLY GHOST…” (2 Peter 1:21 KJV).
The gospel message was
INFLUENCED by the HOLY SPIRIT. The INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit means they
spoke ONLY when “activated” to do so. The self, the will, the mind, the heart, and
nothing else impelled them to become activated, to speak his inspired message, EXCEPT the Holy Spirit.
These holy men were
vessels of God and served as his mouthpieces for the inspired Word of God to be
heard, read, and spoken. Every single mouthpiece, for GOD, should be able to be traced to the INFLUENCE
of the Holy Spirit that either moved them or came upon them.
The INFLUENCE of the
Holy Spirit is also called the ANOINTING. For this article, the anointing is the
consecration or setting apart of a person for God’s purposes. Jesus was
consecrated and set apart for God’s purposes. Jesus was in fact, himself, the ANOINTED
and is NOW the ANOINTING within his people.
Jesus is the Messiah. The Messiah
is an Old Testament Hebrew word which means Anointed One. The Anointed one when translated into New
Testament Greek means Christos
or Jesus Christ who is the Messiah. “…You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God “ANOINTED” HIM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WITH
POWER , and how He went about doing good and healing all who were
oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him…” (Acts 10:38 NASB). "For truly in this city there were gathered
together against YOUR HOLY SERVANT JESUS, WHOM YOU ANOINTED…” (Acts
4:27 NASB).
Jesus, the Messiah was called to do a
specific task for God. Jesus did “…not
come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for
many.” (Matthew 20:28 NIV).
He announced his ministry and his
anointing. “…And he came to Nazareth, where he had been
brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath
day, and stood up for to read.
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when
he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the
Lord is upon me, because he
hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight
to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable
year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he
gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were
in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to
say unto them, THIS
DAY is this scripture fulfilled in your ears…”
(John 4:16-21 KJV).
John personally witnessed
the anointing of Jesus. “…AND JOHN BARE RECORD,
saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon
him. And I knew him not: but
he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou
shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which
baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son
of God. Again the next day after John stood, and two
of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked,
he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples
heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus
turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said
unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest
thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and
saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth
hour. One of the two which heard John speak, and
followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own
brother Simon, and saith unto him, WE HAVE FOUND THE MESSIAS (the Anointed one, the Anointing),
which is, being interpreted, THE CHRIST…”
(John 1:32-41 KJV).
Jesus’ anointing signified
he had divine enablement to accomplish God’s task as Messiah, and he was set apart
to do so, and could adequately serve God’s purposes. “…I saw
the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
…Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining
on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I
saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God...”
(John 1:32-41 KJV).
The INFLUENCE of the
Holy Spirit is the ANOINTING and based on scripture God’s work CANNOT be done
without it. Even Jesus had to be anointed to do God’s work. “…GOD ANOINTED JESUS OF NAZARETH WITH THE HOLY GHOST and
with power: [and he]… went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him…” (Acts 10:36-38 KJV).
Human strength is not
enough to do God’s work. “….Don't put your confidence in … people (including self); there is NO HELP
for you there….” (Psalms 146: 3 NLT). “….apart
from Me, you can DO NOTHING…” (John
15:5 NIV).The INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit IS the
anointing and power that makes you a co-labor in the work of God on earth.
“…It is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose…” (Philippians
2:13 NIV).
However, “… [It is]…God who makes both us and you stand
firm in Christ. HE
ANOINTED US…” (2 Corinthians 1:21 NIV). “…YOU HAVE AN ANOINTING from the Holy One" (1 John 2:20 NASB).
The ANOINTING works in you. “…It is God
who works in you to will and to
act in order to fulfill his good purpose…” (Philippians 2:13 NIV). The
ANOINTING works in you “…to be conformed to the image of his
Son… [and to]…be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
(ROMANS 8:29, 12:2 KJV). “…May …God …equip you with everything
good for doing his will, and may he work IN US (through the anointing) what
is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ…” (Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV).
Every single believer
has a purpose and gift. The INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit, the ANOINTING, is the
source of enablement and power to DO the purpose in which they were created to DO “…Now God
GIVES US many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same HOLY
SPIRIT (the anointing) who is the source of them all. There are
different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving. There are many
ways in which God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work IN and THROUGH all of
us who are his.
The HOLY SPIRIT (the
anointing) DISPLAYS God’s power THROUGH each of us as a means of HELPING the
entire church.
To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; someone else
may be especially good at studying and teaching, and this is his gift from the same Spirit.
He
gives special faith to another, and to someone else the power to heal the sick.
He gives power for doing miracles to some, and to others power to prophesy and
preach. He gives someone else the power to know whether evil spirits are
speaking through those who claim to be giving God’s messages—or whether it is
really the Spirit of God who is speaking.
Still
another person is able to speak in languages he never learned; and others, who
do not know the language either, are given power to understand what he is
saying. It is
the same and only Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts and powers, deciding
which each one of us should have… (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
The main purpose of the
ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit is to INFLUENCE and empower the believer for
ministry and God’s purposes. “… [HE ANOINTED US…”
(2 Corinthians 1:21 NIV). “…YOU HAVE
AN ANOINTING from the Holy
One" (1 John 2:20 NASB). “…Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it
abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you
abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in
him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing…” (John 15:4-6 NASB).
Apart from God you can do
nothing and only God can equip you for ministry. “…May
…God …equip you with everything good for
doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ…”
(Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV). “…it is God which
worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians
2:13 KJV).
A human being CANNOT do God’s work without the ANOINTING. God ANOINTS every
SINGLE believer, without exception, through the indwelling Holy Spirit. “…the Spirit of God dwell[s]… in
you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus
from the dead dwell in you…” (Romans 8:11 KJV).
“…the Spirit of
God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV). “…God hath said, I will dwell in them…” (2
Corinthians 6:16 KJV). “…it is God which
worketh in you…”
(Philippians 2:13 KJV).
The anointing is God’s job, not man’s;
God’s will, not man’s. The INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit is the ANOINTING, which
works through HOLY vessels. “…For the prophecy CAME NOT in old time BY THE WILL OF MAN: but HOLY men of God spake as they were MOVED BY THE HOLY
GHOST…” (2 Peter 1:21 KJV).
“…when THE
SPIRIT rested UPON them, they prophesied…” (Numbers 11:25 KJV). “…THE SPIRIT of the Lord will come UPON thee, and thou shalt prophesy …”
(1 Samuel 10:6 KJV). “….THE SPIRIT of God
came UPON him, and he prophesied …” (1 Samuel 10:10 KJV). “…THE SPIRIT of God
was UPON the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied….” (1 Samuel 19:20 KJV). “…THE SPIRIT of God was UPON him also, and he went on, and
prophesied…” (1 Samuel 19:23 KJV). “…HOLY
men of God spake
as they were MOVED BY THE HOLY GHOST…”
(2 Peter 1:21 KJV).
In the Old Testament
the Spirit of God came UPON Holy men to anoint them for his purposes, but
today, believers, experience a MORE intimate anointing through the INDWELLING Holy Spirit.
“…the Spirit of God dwell[s]… in
you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians
3:16 KJV). “…God hath said, I will dwell in
them…” (2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV). “…if the Spirit of
him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you…” (Romans 8:11 KJV). “…it is God which
worketh in you…”
(Philippians 2:13 KJV). “IN” you; not
UPON you.
Renewing your mind, by HEARING the WORD, will renew your
influences. “I can do all
things THROUGH Christ WHICH strengtheneth me.” (Philippians
4:13 KJV).
Your influences are what guides you, inspires
you, empowers you, or MOVES you. Jesus said, “…..what he SEETH the Father doing… he
DOETH… in like manner” (John 5:19 KJV).
When the Holy Spirit INFLUENCES you
through the ANOINTING it means you have chosen to be totally DEPENDED upon God to WORK "IN" and "THROUGH" you. Jesus said,
“…I can of mine own self do nothing…...”
John 5:30 KJV).
What you allow to influence you will have SOVEREIGNTY
over your mind, heart, will, and everything. “…the Son
can do nothing of himself ...” John 5:19 KJV).
The human heart, the human mind, or the
human efforts CANNOT be and IS NOT the influence that activates the WORK of God's Holy Spirit. “… [You]… are HIS workmanship
(creation), created in Christ Jesus unto
good works…” (Ephesians 2:10 KJV). “…it is God which worketh in you…” (Philippians 2:13 KJV). “…NOT that [you]… are ADEQUATE IN [YOURSELVES]… to consider
anything as coming from [yourselves]… but [YOUR]… ADEQUACY IS FROM GOD…” (2 Corinthians 3:5 NASB). “…Now GOD GIVES us many kinds of special abilities, but
it is the same
Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There are different kinds
of service to God …but it is the same GOD WHO “DOES” THE WORK IN
AND THROUGH all of
us who are his. The Holy
Spirit “displays” God’s power THROUGH
each of us… It is the same and only Holy Spirit who gives
all these gifts and powers, deciding which each one of us should have…
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). Jesus said, “…as the Father gave me commandments, even so I do…” (John 14:31 KJV).
The WORD of the Holy Spirit does not
originate from man’s humanity and therefore man cannot activate HIS WORK without the
empowerment or anointing of the Holy Spirit. “….Apart from Me, you can do
NOTHING…” (John 15:5 NIV).
Renewing your mind, with the WORD,
renews what influences you, which can, by choice, become the indwelling Holy Spirit/Anointing INSTEAD of the flesh. Are you anointed? “… HE (the indwelling Holy Spirit) ANOINTED US…” (2
Corinthians 1:21 NIV). “…YOU HAVE AN ANOINTING from the Holy One" (1 John 2:20
NASB). Yes, you are anointed.
Where is the anointing? “…But the
ANOINTING which ye have
received of him abideth in you…” (1 John 2:27 KJV). “…Jesus Christ (the anointed one) is in you…”
(2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV). “…Christ (the
anointing) [is]…in you
…” (Colossians 1:27 KJV). “…the Spirit of God dwell[s]… in you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians
3:16 KJV).
God works in you to such a powerful,
influencing degree his anointed works WILL be displayed through you. “…it is… GOD WHO “DOES” THE WORK IN AND
THROUGH all of us who are his. The Holy Spirit “displays” God’s power THROUGH each of us…” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). ). “…IT IS God which worketh in you…” (Philippians 2:13 KJV).
If God does the work, what is your part or
role? God “worketh in you” or DOES the WORK of the anointing. You HEAR his WORD and DEPEND upon him to DO the work "IN" and "THROUGH" you. “….I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your BODIES a LIVING SACRIFICE, holy, acceptable
unto God, WHICH
IS YOUR REASONABLE SERVICE….” (Romans 12:1 KJV).
God will not force you.
It is totally up to you to CHOOSE to give your life as a living sacrifice for his
purposes. Becoming a “living sacrifice”
is your “reasonable service” to God. “…YOUR REASONABLE SERVICE….” (Romans 12:1
KJV). It is your decision to give your services over to God.
“Reasonable
service” is one that is equitable,
just, and fair or the “least” you can do; considering what God has done for
YOU. “Now, most people would
not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be
willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending
Christ to die for us while we were still sinners…”
(Romans 5:7-9 NLT).
Nonetheless, many
believers are not willing to give even their “…reasonable service…” (Romans 12:1 KJV). God wants you to be in
agreement with his working through you. “….YE (you) PRESENT your bodies a LIVING SACRIFICE...” (Romans 12:1 KJV). Renewing
the mind will help empower and activate you to “present
your” body to God as a “living
sacrifice.”
Peter and Paul
demonstrate the state of a renewed mind and a renewed influence. Peter said, “…‘We’ve
given up everything to follow you…” (Mark
10:28-31 NLT). Paul said, “….everything else is worthless when compared with the
infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus [our]… Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything
else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ…”
(Philippians 3:8 NLT).
In addition, to giving him your “reasonable service” and presenting your
bodies in order to do the work of God; choose to depend upon his indwelling. God does the work. “…THIS IS the work of God, that ye BELIEVE
ON Him whom he hath sent.” (John 6:28-29 KJV).
The ANOINTING is not witnessed as much today,
because most believers are attempting to do the work in their OWN strength. God’s work is a
TEAM effort. “…Human effort [alone]… accomplishes nothing.”
(John 6:63 NLT). “…the flesh profiteth NOTHING…”
(John 6:63 KJV). "…That which is born
of the flesh is flesh; and that
which is born of
the Spirit is spirit…” (John 3:6 KJV). “….THE WORDS that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are LIFE…”
(John 6:63 KJV).
The indwelling Holy Spirit is the ANOINTING
and you are the VESSEL in which the ANOINTING flows in and through. “…it is… GOD WHO “DOES” THE WORK IN AND THROUGH all of us who are his. The Holy Spirit “displays” God’s power THROUGH
each of us…” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11
NLT).
Jesus demonstrated the influence of the
anointing. “…You know of Jesus of
Nazareth, how God “ANOINTED” HIM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WITH POWER
, and how He
went about doing good and healing all who were
oppressed by the devil, for God was with
Him…” (Acts 10:38 NASB). “…The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath ANOINTED ME to preach
the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord…” (John 4:16-21 KJV).
When “…Christ
[dwells] in your hearts by faith …” (Ephesians 3:17 KJV); Jesus
says, “… He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and GREATER WORKS than
these shall he do….” (John 14:1 KJV).
Don’t get caught up in trying to do the works on your OWN. The works
come out of the ONE-SPIRIT relationship with God. “But he that is joined (in a relationship) unto the Lord
is one spirit [with God]…” (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV).
It is the ONE-SPIRIT relationship with God that
results in the INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit, which is the ANOINTING. “…The Holy Spirit “displays” God’s power THROUGH
each of us…” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11
NLT).
It is the ANOINTING that does the work
“IN” and “THROUGH” you. “…it is… GOD
WHO “DOES” THE WORK IN AND THROUGH all of us who are
his. …”
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
It is a team effort similar to a marriage
where each spouse has a different role, but work in unity. Jesus said, "I
and my Father are one." (John 10:30 KJV). “…..what he SEETH the Father doing… he
DOETH… in like manner” (John 5:19 KJV).
You can, however, do many religious works
on your OWN strength and miss out on the EMPOWERMENT of those WORKS experienced through a DEPENDENT relationship. “…Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast
out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity…” (Matthew 7:22-23 KJV).
“… if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all
mysteries and all knowledge; and
if I have all faith, so as to remove
mountains, but have not love, I AM NOTHING.
And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, IT PROFITETH ME NOTHING…” (1
Corinthians 13:2-3 ASV).
“…God is love…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV). “…every one that loveth …. KNOWETH God.
He that loveth NOT KNOWETH NOT God; for God is love…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV). “…And then will I profess unto them, I never KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that
work iniquity…” (Matthew 7:22-23 KJV).
It is NOT A RELIGION, but a relationship. Renewing your mind
will renew what influences you. Your motto becomes: I SURRENDER my dependence to you. “…SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God…”
(James 4:7 KJV).
“…My son, GIVE ME thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my
ways…” (Proverbs 23:26 KJV). “…What?
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you,
which ye have of God, and YE ARE NOT YOUR OWN?” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20
KJV). “…PRESENT YOUR BODIES…” (Romans
12:1 KJV). “…Whosoever will come
after me, let him DENY HIMSELF, and take up his cross, and follow me…”
(Mark 8:34-35 KJV).
“…Be transformed by the renewing of your mind….” (Romans 12:2 KJV). “Be
conformed to the image of his Son…” (ROMANS 8:29 KJV). “..Let this
