THE GIFT OF PEACE
“…The fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…” (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).

“…Peace I leave with you; My
peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I
give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful…”
(John 14:27 NASB). Jesus was getting ready to depart from his disciples, but he
was leaving them the “gift” of PEACE.
It was traditional for salutations
to begin or end with “shalom, shalom”
or “peace, peace.” “…Jesus came and stood among them and said,
“Peace be with you!”
(John 20:19 NIV).
The “salutation" of PEACE was a
decree that signified a sincere desire of prosperity, well-being, rest, inner
harmony, tranquility, serenity, or health to another. Therefore, Jesus said, “…I am leaving you with a GIFT—'PEACE OF MIND" and
heart… a GIFT
the world cannot give.” (John 14:27 KJV).
So the gift Christ left behind
held a POWER to bless and to fulfill one with a PEACE that transcended ALL
circumstances. “…The peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ
Jesus…” (Philippians 4:7 NIV).
“…Peace I leave with you; My
peace I give to you
…” (John 14:27 NASB). Jesus’ salutation, in John 14:27, had immense
significance because he said it; he meant it; he would provide it, and they
would experience it. “…May … [THIS] ...peace be yours in the fullest measure…”
(1 Peter 1:3 NASB).
The GIFT of PEACE that Christ
bestowed upon his disciples was his own self, which would be GIVEN, through his indwelling Holy Spirit, because PEACE is inseparable from
his character or Holy nature. “…Gideon built an altar to
the Lord… and named it YAHWEH–SHALOM (which means "The Lord Our Peace”)…” (Judges 6:24 NLT). “…May
God himself, the God of
peace
…” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NIV).
“…He will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace…”
(Isaiah 9: 6 NIV).
Thus, God’s PEACE is a part of his Holy character. “… “I AM WHO I AM…” (Exodus 3:14-15 NASB).“…the God of
peace
…” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NIV). The believer experiences his PEACE through his INDWELLING presence, which indicates he is revealing himself to them, confirming his Word about who he is, and establishing himself as the Lord, their God. “…you will experience God’s
peace ... His
peace will guard your hearts
and minds as you live in
Christ Jesus (in his word)…” (Philippians 4:7 NLT). “…
“in” me (in his word) you may have peace…”
(John 16:33 NIV).
The wicked does NOT and will
NOT have the HOLY PEACE of God’s indwelling presence. “…There
is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked…”
(Isaiah 48:22 NIV).
The indwelling HOLY Spirit
has the FULL and COMPLETE responsibility of providing and supplying “ALL” aspects of PEACE in
HIS relationship ROLE with the believer. “…God is the one who provides …” (2
Corinthians 9:10-13 KJV). “… God will supply all [your need]…” (Philippians
4:19 NASB). “…God will generously PROVIDE all you need…” (2
Corinthians 9:8 NLT). “…The
Lord is my shepherd; I
shall not want …” (Psalms 23:1
KJV). “…
You will always have everything
you need …”
(2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT). JEHOVAH –JIREH means: "The Lord Will Provide." “…Therefore,
since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith (by depending upon his WORD), we
have peace with
God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has
done for us…”
(Romans 5:1 NLT).
The indwelling Holy Spirit maintains and sustains an atmosphere of PEACE in the relationship with the believer. “…
“in” me you may have peace…”
(John 16:33 NIV).
The believer is GIVEN
more than enough PEACE for themselves and to share with others.
“…God will generously
provide all you need (peace).
Then you will always have everything
you need and plenty left over to share with others…” (2
Corinthians 9:8 NLT). “…Everything [the
believer] … has come from … [God], and [they] … give [God] … only what [he] … first gave … [them]!
…” (1 Chronicles 29:14 NLT). “… seek peace and pursue it…”
(Psalms 34:14 NIV). “…Blessed are the peacemakers…”
(Matthew 5:9 NIV). “…If
it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with
everyone…” (Romans 12:18 NIV).
The indwelling Holy Spirit supplies
more than ENOUGH PEACE for the believer. “…God will
supply all [the PEACE you need]…” (Philippians 4:19 NASB) “…God will
generously provide all you need
(PEACE).
…” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT).
The believer, however, has the
CHOICE to trust in God’s (or depend upon God's) indwelling HOLY PEACE or RELY on the situations and circumstances they see. Apostle Paul said, “…I have
learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I
know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of
being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or
hungry, whether living in plenty or in want…” Philippians 4:11-12 NIV). “…choose
life…”
(Deuteronomy 30:19). “…Jesus
saith unto him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life …”
(John 14 6 KJV). Therefore, the secret to experiencing God's PEACE is: “…[You] … can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth [you].”
(Philippians 4:13 KJV).
The problem with letting God’s PEACE rule and rejecting that PEACE is "NOT" trusting or depending upon his SOVEREIGN control over ALL that is HAPPENING in your life.“…Trust
in the Lord with all thine heart…” (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV). “…He helps [YOU]…”
(Psalms 28:7 NLT).“… [God] … will keep in
perfect peace all who trust in (depend upon)… [him] …
all whose thoughts are fixed on … [him!]” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT). “…let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your
hearts … you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful…”
(Colossians 3:15 NLT).
God GAVE his disciples
SUPERNATURAL PEACE. “… “in” me you may have peace…”
(John 16:33 NIV). “…My
peace I give to you
…” (John 14:27 NASB).
PEACE is a FRUIT of the
Spirit. “…[One of] … the fruit of the Spirit is … peace, …”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). If you CHOOSE to allow the indwelling Holy Spirit to EMPOWER you, it will produce the fruit of PEACE. “…letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and PEACE…”
(Romans 8:6 NLT). “…The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit
in [y]our lives …. PEACE …” (Galatians 5 NLT). “…Ye shall know them
by their fruits…” (Matthew 7:16 KJV).
holy peace comes FROM GOD.

GOD’s OFFERS PEACE TO US FIRST.

(John 14:27 NASB). “…Therefore,

GOD expresses his peace through his
“indwelling” HOLY SPIRIT. God REVEALS HIS PEACE, CONFIRM HIS WORD OF BEING A GOD OF PEACE, AND ESTABLISHES, HIMSELF AS THE LORD gOD, OUR PEACE. “… “I AM WHO I AM…” (Exodus 3:14-15 NASB).“…the God of

GOD IMPARTS peace. “…God has sent

GOD EMPOWERS peace.
“…That great Shepherd of the

everything good [the indwelling fruit of Peace]… for doing his

(his PEACE in order to do) what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ…” (Hebrews

God which worketh IN YOU

will (be empowered) and to do
(experience peace) …”

God supplies peace. “…God shall supply ALL YOUR NEED according
to his riches in glory (in his presence) BY Christ Jesus…” (Philippians 4:19
KJV). “….The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. ….” (PSALM 23:1-3 NLT). “…God will generously
PROVIDE all … [the PEACE] … you
need…” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT).
GOD’S peace NEVER CHANGES OR FAILS.
“…be content (peaceful) with what you
have, because God has said “Never will I leave you; never
will I forsake you…”
(Hebrews 13:5 NIV). “…I have learned to be
content (peaceful) whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be
in need, and I know what it is to have plenty…” (Philippians

GOD’S gift of peace is always yours, EVEN IF YOU choose "not" to receive it or depend upon it. “…[Choose to] keep the unity of the
Spirit through the bond of peace…”
(Ephesians 4:3 NIV). “…I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, to the very end…"(Matthew 28:20 NIV). “…I “IN”
YOU…” (John 15:4 KJV). “…he remains faithful…” (2
Timothy 2:13 NLT). “…He himself is our peace…” (Ephesians 2:14
NIV).
GOD’S gift of peace LASTS FOREVER. “…For to us a child is born, to us a son is given
… And he will be called … Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his … peace there will be no end…” (Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV). “…Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever”
(Hebrews 13:8 NIV). “…I am the Lord, I
change NOT…”

GOD’S peace IS SO POWERFUL IT IS A “SIGN” THAT YOU
ARE HIS DISCIPLES. “…Now may the Lord of peace himself
give you peace
at
all times and in every way.
The Lord be with all of you…” (2
Thessalonians 3:16 NIV). “…[One of]… the fruit of the Spirit is ...peace…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…Ye shall KNOW THEM by their fruits…” (Matthew 7:16 KJV). Therefore, "… bear much fruit (OF PEACE), and …
PROVE to be … [God’s] … disciples” (John 15:8 NIV).
GOD’S peace is a characteristic of his holy spirit and it is the holy spirit that produces holy peace "in" and "through" your life. “…The fruit of the Spirit is peace…”

(Psalms 122:8 NIV). “…God who does the
work IN and THROUGH all of us who are his. The HOLY SPIRIT DISPLAYS God’s power THROUGH each of

Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…It is God who works in you…” (Philippians 2:13 NIV).
God’s gift of peace is understood or experienced by faith or by depending upon the indwelling fruit of peace. “… BY FAITH we UNDERSTAND (become
aware of) …that what we now see (experience) did not come from anything that
can be seen (the indwelling Holy Spirit)…” (Hebrews 11 NLT). “…[One of] … the
fruit of the (invisible) Spirit
is ... peace…”

GOD”S gift of peace IS EXPERIENCED BY
TRUSTing or depending upon god. “…God shall supply ALL YOUR NEED according

God’s peace is experienced through

Son of Man came
not to be served but to serve others …" (Matthew 20:28). “…I must be about my Father's

GOD’S gift of peace IS OFTEN “NOT” BELIEVED or depended upon.

has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living

said to Jesus “…I DO believe; HELP me overcome my unbelief!”

boldly unto the throne of GRACE, that we may obtain mercy, and find GRACE to help in

God’s peace is forever. “…he will

God supplies you with enough peace for yourself and to

God’s peace is displayed as spiritual fruit in your
life and others can see it. “…Ye shall know them by their fruits…” (Matthew
7:16 KJV). “…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). . “…every good tree bringeth
forth good fruit...”
(Matthew 7:16-22 KJV).“…God who does the
work [of producing HOLY PEACE] IN and THROUGH all of us who are his. The HOLY SPIRIT [DISPLAYS God’s power THROUGH each of
us … It
is the …Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts (of HOLY PEACE) and POWERS… (1
Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…It is God who works in you…” (Philippians 2:13 NIV).
If you do NOT have the
indwelling HOLY Spirit, you are NOT one of God’s children and the fruit of PEACE
will be absent. “…And
remember that those who do not
have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at
all…”
(Romans 8:8-11 NLT). “…Apart from Me you can do nothing…” (John
15:4-6 NASB).
The wicked will NOT have the GIFT of God's HOLY PEACE given through his indwelling presence. “…There
is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked…”

God’s PEACE is HIS presence experienced through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

(John 16:33 NIV). When the believer exemplifies indwelling HOLY PEACE
it indicates he or she is connected to the covenant
relationship with God. "…Ye shall know them
by their fruits…” (Matthew 7:16 KJV). “…[One of]… the
fruit of the Spirit is ...peace…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…you
will experience God’s peace ... His peace
will guard your hearts and
minds as you live in Christ Jesus…”

GOD'S HOLY PEACE FREES YOU FROM ALL THINGS THAT COME TO DISTURB YOUR MIND AND THOUGHTS.
GOD'S HOLY PEACE FREES YOU BY ASSURING YOU THROUGH GOD'S WORD AND HIS INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL.
GOD'S HOLY PEACE EMPOWERS YOU TO EXPECT GOD IS WORKING ALL THINGS TOGETHER FOR YOUR ULTIMATE GOOD AND YOUR EVERY NEGATIVE EVENT, EXPERIENCE, SITUATION, OR CIRCUMSTANCE WILL TURN OUT IN YOUR FAVOR!!!
