GETTING TO KNOW GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT
“… “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you…” (Hebrews 13:5 NIV). “…I am with you

[you] and will keep … [you] whithersoever [you]… goest…I will not leave [you] ..."
(Genesis 28:15 ASV). “...He careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 KJV). “…God is LOVE…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV). “… “I AM WHO I AM …” (Exodus 3:14-15 NASB). “…I change NOT…”
(Malachi 3:6 KJV). “… THE LORD (YOUR
CAREGIVER) … is Your rock and Your fortress, your deliverer, Your GOD, Your rock, in whom [you] … take refuge; Your shield and the horn of Your salvation, YOUR stronghold.…" (Psalms 18:3
NASB). “… I the LORD am thy
Saviour …” (Isaiah 60:16
KJV). “…there is none like unto thee…” (Jeremiah 10:6 KJV).“…I am the Lord, I
change NOT…” (Malachi 3:6 KJV).
“Jesus
Christ is the same yesterday and
today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8 NIV).

The
covenant relationship with God, the Holy
Spirit, is the OPPORTUNITY of a LIFETIME.
Before
the foundation of the world, he PREPARED a PLAN to PURSUE YOU. He SENT JESUS, his
PLAN, and put his PURSUIT of you into action. HOW? First, he personally CHOOSE
you and then he goes ALL OUT to DRAW you to LOVE (himself, because God is LOVE)
“…God is LOVE…” (1
John 4:4-8 KJV) and to RESTORE you BACK into a covenant
relationship with him again.
What does this tell you
about the HOLY ONE who HAS PURSUED you? “…[that]...he FIRST loved ...[mankind]…” (1 John 4:19 ASV). “…that ...[God’s]…
plan from before the beginning of time—[WAS]...to
show [mankind]...his GRACE through Christ Jesus…” (2
Timothy 1:9 NLT).
It is God, the Holy Spirit, who PURSUES mankind. "… I have chosen
you….” (John 15:16 KJV). The bible
says this about the REDEEMED “...You are a chosen
people,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the
praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light...”
(1 Peter 2:9 NIV).
God said about Israel, “...For thou art an holy people
unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people
unto himself, above all
people that are upon the face of the earth...”
(Deuteronomy
7:6).
God, the
Holy Spirit, PURSUES the lost, which is EVERYBODY and doesn’t play
favoritism. He does NOT want “anyone” to perish. God, “….[is]
…not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9 KJV). “… AS MANY
as received him, to them GAVE HE POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, even to them that believe on his name…”
(John 1:12 KJV). “…WHOSOEVER
shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved...”
(Romans 10:13 KJV). “…YE (the REDEEMED) ARE
“ALL” CHILDREN OF GOD BY FAITH “IN” (or dependence upon) CHRIST JESUS. …There
is NEITHER Jew nor Greek, (there is neither red, yellow, brown, black, or
white), there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for YE (the REDEEMED)
ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS…” (Galatians 3:26-28 KJV).
“…God SHOWS NO FAVORITISM. In every nation HE ACCEPTS those who fear him and do
what is right. This is the message of Good News for the
people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all…”
(Acts 10:34-36 NLT). “…Then Peter opened
his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no RESPECTER OF PERSONS: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh
righteousness, is
accepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of
Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)…” (Acts
10:34-36 KJV).
God PURSUES mankind, in EVERY NATION, “through”
Jesus Christ, with the LOVING intention and purpose of offering them his GIFT
and PLAN of SALVATION. “…The GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ ….” (Romans 6:23 KJV). “...In every nation HE (God, the Holy Spirit) ACCEPTS those
who fear him and do what is right ...there is peace with God through
Jesus Christ,
who is Lord of all…”
(Acts 10:34-36 NLT). “…that was [God’s]… plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his GRACE through Christ Jesus…” (2
Timothy 1:9 NLT).
“…God SO LOVED the world, that he GAVE his
only…son….” (John 3:16). “…Herein is love, not that we
loved God,
but that HE
LOVED US...” (1 John 4:10 KJV). “We love,
because HE FIRST
LOVED US…” (1 John 4:19 ASV).
Therefore, God “…SPARED
NOT his own Son, but delivered him up FOR US ALL…” (Romans 8:32 KJV). “…God SHOWED HIS
GREAT LOVE FOR US by sending Christ to die for us while we were still
sinners…” (Romans 5:7-9 NLT). “…God is LOVE…” (1
John 4:4-8 KJV). “…There is no greater love…”
(John 15:13 NLT). God, the Holy Spirit, has “….loved [you]...with an everlasting love….”
(Jeremiah 31:3 KJV).
God, the Holy Spirit, pursues you and especially CHOOSES you to ENTER
into a covenant relationship with HIM again.. . “…HE CHOSE [the REDEEDMED]... in Him before the foundation of the
world…” (Ephesians 1:4 NLT). "…You
did not choose [God, the Holy Spirit]... but [god, the holy
spirit]... chose you, and
appointed you “bear”
[spiritual]...fruit…” (John 15:16 ASV). “…ye are a chosen generation…”
(1 Peter 2:9 KJV). “…God ....chose Abram …and made a covenant with him…”
(Nehemiah 9:7-8 NASB). “..thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon
the face of the earth...” (Deuteronomy
7:6). ““... you are
a chosen people…”
(1 Peter 2:9 NIV). “…The God of our fathers hath
chosen thee…”
(Acts 22:14 KJV).
What does it MEAN to
CHOOSE? To choose means to DECIDE on a course of action. OR it means to PICK
between TWO or more OPTIONS. God’s LOVE is the GREATEST LOVE OF ALL. WHY?
HE CHOOSE you, which
means he DECIDED on a course of action to SHOW his love to you and to restore
you BACK into a covenant relationship with Him.
He CHOOSE you, which
also means he picked between letting you perish in your sins and sending Jesus,
this son, the PLAN of SALVATION.
“…[salvation]...
was [God’s]… plan from before the beginning of
time—to
show us his GRACE
through Christ Jesus…” (2 Timothy 1:9 NLT).
God chooses you and
THEN adopts you into his covenant family. “…God sent forth his Son…to redeem [us]….that
we might receive the adoption of sons…” (Galatians 4:4-5
KJV). “…This is what he wanted to do, and it gave
him great pleasure…” (Ephesians 1 NLT). “Having predestinated us unto the
adoption of children
by Jesus Christ to himself, according
to the GOOD PLEASURE of his will…”
(Ephesians 1:5 KJV). “…For ye have not
received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, ‘Abba, Father…’”
(Romans 8:15 KJV). “…For we know that the
whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now…..waiting
for the adoption,
to wit, the redemption of our body…”
(Romans 8:22-23 KJV).
God chose you to LOVE
you, to show you with his GRACE through Jesus, and to SHOWER you with ALL the
BLESSINGS and RICHES of the covenant. “…BLESSED
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who HATH BLESSED us with all spiritual blessings
in heavenly places in Christ…” (Ephesians
1:3 KJV). “… [Your heavenly Father] ... will
supply all your [need]… according
to His
riches in glory in Christ Jesus…” (Philippians
4:19 NASB).
Those BLESSINGS and
RICHES include GRACE, FORGIVENESS, deliverance, FREEDOM from SIN, a RIGHT
relationship with God again, endless kindnesses, atonement, the indwelling Holy Spirit, everlasting
love, and on and on. “…He is “SO” RICH in
kindness and GRACE that he purchased our freedom with
the blood of his Son and forgave our sins…”
(Ephesians 1:7 NLT). “…God, in
his grace, freely makes us
right in his sight.
He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from
the penalty for our sins…” (Romans
3:21-26 NLT).
“…Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans
7:14-25 NLT).
“….The exceeding RICHES of his GRACE in his kindness toward us
through Christ Jesus…”
(Ephesians 2:7 KJV).
“…The life of the
flesh is in the blood …it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul…”
(Leviticus 17:11 KJV). Jesus said, “This is my blood of
the covenant…” (Matthew 26:28 KJV). “…This
cup is the new
covenant in my blood …which is poured out for you…” (Luke 22:20 ASV).
“…For
Christ also died
for sins ONCE for all, the
just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God,
having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit…” (1
Peter 3:18 NASB).
“This is my blood of
the covenant, which is poured out for many for
the forgiveness of sins...” (Matthew 26:28 KJV).
“…Bless the Lord, O MY SOUL …Who
forgiveth “all” thine iniquities…” (Psalms 103 KJV).
“….We have …the forgiveness of sins, according
to the RICHES of his grace…”
(Ephesians 1:7 KJV). “…the Son of man HATH POWER on earth to forgive sins…”
(Matthew 9:6 KJV). “…If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness…”
(1 John 1:9 KJV).
“Create in
me a clean heart, O God…” (Psalms 51:10-19 KJV). ). “…I will
forgive their
wickedness and will
remember their sins no more…" (Hebrews 8:12 NIV). His “…love covereth a
multitude of sins…” (Proverbs 10:12, 1 Peter 4:8 ASV). “…God is LOVE…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV).
You have been pursued. You have been
chosen. You have been drawn to him. Now God begins to COURT you.
The courtship is a period of time where the
redeemed develops an intimacy towards God, the Holy Spirit by getting to KNOW
him. God ALREADY knows YOU.“..You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when
I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my
lying down; you are familiar with all my ways…”
(Psalm 139:1-3 KJV).
It the courtship that leads to engagement
and marriage. Traditionally, it was the MALE who actively COURTED the FEMALE
with the intent to reveal himself, win
her favor, and ultimately persuade her to marry him.
During the spiritual
COURTSHIP, God, the Holy Spirit,
because of his FAVORABLE LOVE toward you, REVEALS himself to you and hopes to
win your FAVOR too. He tells you HIS heartfelt TRUTH: “… “Never
will I leave you; never
will I forsake you…”
(Hebrews 13:5 NIV). “…I am with you always, to the very end…"(Matthew 28:20 NIV). “…Behold, I
am with … [you] and will keep … [you]

Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God…" (Revelation 1:8
NASB). “… I, the LORD … the first,
and with the last. I am He...'"
(Isaiah 41:4 NASB).
“...The
lord is GOOD…there is none good but one, that is,
God” (Nahum 1:7 & Mark 10:18 KJV). “…God is love…” (1 John 4:4-8 KJV). “… I, the Lord,
am
your healer…”
(Exodus 15:26). “… I AM HOLY…” (1
Peter 1:14-16 KJV). And, “There is none holy as the Lord…” (1
Samuel 2:2 KJV). “…God is the one
who provides …” (2
Corinthians 9:10-13 KJV). “… God will supply all [your need]…” (Philippians
4:19 NASB). “… [God] … will keep in perfect
peace all who trust in … [him] … all
whose thoughts are fixed on … [him!]” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT). “….The
Lord is “my”
shepherd ….”
(PSALM 23:1-3 NLT).
“… THE
LORD (YOUR COVENANT CAREGIVER) … is Your rock and Your

Second, God, the Holy Spirit, COURTS you through the
indwelling Holy Spirit and REVEAL himself through Jesus, the WORD OF GOD. “… [Jesus’] name is [also] ... called The Word of God…”
(Revelation 19:12-13 NASB). “… I am (jesus, the word of god is) the light (revelation of God) of the world..."
(John 9:5, 8:12 KJV).
“…THE WORDS THAT I
(Jesus) SPEAK unto you, they ARE SPIRIT (revelation of god)… and they are LIFE….” (John 6:63 KJV). “…The Lord (Jesus) is that
Spirit (revelation)…” (2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV). “... the light
(revelation) makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ (the WORD) will give you light (revelation
of god)... (Ephesians 5:19 NLT). ” “…THE
WORDS ...they ARE SPIRIT…” (John
6:63 KJV). “…God is Spirit …” (John 4:24 KJV). “…the Word was
God …
(John 1:1-4 NASB). “… I am the light(revelation of god) of the
world..." (John 9:5, 8:12 KJV). “...
He (THE WORD) is a light to reveal God to the nations...” (Luke 2:32 NLT). Jesus, the Word is “.. A Light of revelation...” (LUKE 2:32 NASB).
The COURTSHIP is a time when the, “…The Light which … enlightens (or which gives
revelation knowledge of god, the holy spirit to) every ...[REDEEMED]...man
(woman)…”
(John 1:19 NASB). “.. A Light of
revelation...” (LUKE 2:32 NASB).
“...And this is life
eternal, that
they might know [have intimate, revelation knowledge of] thee the only true
God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent...” (John 17:3 KJV).
