CHAPTER
2
PART 2
PART 2
God
draws YOU
“And I…will draw all men unto me…” (John
12:32).
DEAD IN TRESPASSES |
In addition, you
are conducting yourself “…in the lusts of
[your] flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and [are] by
[your sinful] nature children of wrath,” (Ephesians 2:1-5).
God, being “... rich in mercy…..because of His great
love……even when [you] were dead in trespasses [and sins, made [you] alive
together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Ephesians 2:1-5).
JOHN 3:16 |
This is good
news! John 3:16 expresses what God did to intervene for mankind and fulfill his
plan for restoring or reconciling the loving relationship between himself and
humanity (Colossians 1:21-23).
God intervenes
out of love. “In this is love,
not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the
propitiation [that is, the atoning sacrifice, and the satisfying offering] for
our sins [fulfilling God’s requirement for justice against sin and placating
His wrath]” (1 John 4:10).
INFECTED BY SIN |
Holiness is a
major requirement of God’s and you possess NO holiness at all; without Christ.
This is true
whether you believe it or not. You can only become holy or righteous through
Christ Jesus. “….You are in Christ Jesus,
who became to us……from God…righteousness…..” (1 Corinthians 1:30).
God comes
bursting lovingly into your life as a powerful, spiritual intervention and urges
you to seek his help by drawing you to himself. God’s only agenda for helping
you is Love.
God purposefully
draws you to a place to hear and learn about the good news of the gospel. If
you hear and are taught the “good news”, God knows it will save you from your
sins and draw you to him.
ROMANS 10:14 |
Apostle Paul
preached the good news of the gospel from Jerusalem to Illyricum and witnessed thousands
being drawn to “the gospel of Christ”
(Romans 15:19).
The good news of
the gospel has supernatural power to wake-up faith and draw you to the heart of
God.
God lovingly
attracts you to himself through purposeful efforts using the preaching of the
“…the good news” through his servants
(Mark 16:15).
You have nothing
to do with the drawing process. God chases after you and makes all the effort
to draw your heart to His.
You know you are
responding by faith when you find yourself following after the truth you heard.
Following after
the truth of God’s word, by doing what it says, is a sign of responding by
faith.
The good news
tells you that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again, which
is the GREATEST demonstration of God’s love for you, AND you respond. (1
Corinthians 15:21-4 and 1 John 4:9). A
