THESE WORDS GIVE YOU JOY!

WHY DOES GOD SPEAK TO YOU, THROUGH JESUS, THE WORD? 

“…THESE THINGS HAVE I SPOKEN UNTO YOU…” (JOHN 15:11 KJV).

“THESE THINGS” that Jesus, THE WORD, spoke in John 15 were a message from God about the benefits of sanctification, the ways to produce much fruit, how to confidently ask him for anything, and staying connected to his love. “….Abide in me  (THE WORD) and I in you [and]...ye are clean….the same bringeth forth much fruit….ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you…..keep my commandments (CONTINUE TO DEPEND UPON GOD'S WORD)…and [you will] abide in MY love…THESE THINGS [JESUS, THE WORD, SPOKE] unto you that [THE[ JOY [THAT COMES FROM HIS WORD WILL] … remain in you, and … YOUR JOY …be full…” (John 15:1-11 KJV). “…[GOD HAS SPOKEN THESE THINGS THROUGH JESUS, THE WORD] ... so that you will be filled with my joy…” (John 15:11 NLT). “…We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy…” (1 John 1:4 KJV).

“…if these things (THESE WORDS) be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (THE WORD OF GOD)…” (2 Peter 1:8 KJV). 

“…The Lord will help you understand all these things (THESE WORDS)…” (2 Timothy 2:7 KJV). “…If ye know these things, (THESE WORDS) happy are ye if ye do them…” (John 13:17 KJV). “…I have told you these things (THESE WORDS) before they happen so that when they do happen (ARE CONFIRMED), you will believe (DEPEND UPON HIS WORD)…” (John 14:29 KJV). “…I have told you these things (THESE WORDS) so that you won’t abandon your faith (DEPENDENCY UPON HIS WORD)…” (John 16:1 KJV). “…These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace…” (John 16:33 KJV). “…What shall we then say to these things (THESE WORDS)? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 KJV). “…In all these things (THESE WORDS) we are more than conquerors through him that loved us…” (Romans 8:37 KJV). “…You know these things (THESE WORDS) so well you can teach each other all about them…” (Romans 15:14 NLT). “…With all these things (THESE WORDS) in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching …” (2 Thessalonians 2:15 NLT).“…it was to us that God revealed these things (THESE WORDS) by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets…” (1 Corinthians 1:20 NLT).“…Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things (THESE WORDS), and I do it to safeguard your faith (TO SAFEGUARD YOUR DEPENDENCY UPON HIS WORD)…” (Philippians 3:1 NLT).

“…Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (THESE WORDS)…” (Philippians 4:8 NLT).

“…These things (THESE WORDS) command and teach…” (1 Timothy 4:11 KJV).

“…Meditate upon these things (THESE WORDS); give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all…” (1 Timothy 4:15 KJV).

“…God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things (THESE WORDS) are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us…” (Hebrews 6:18 NLT).

“…These things (THESE WORDS) have I written unto you that believe on (DEPEND UPON) the name of the Son of God (THE WORD OF GOD)…” (1 John 5:13 KJV).

“…THESE WORDS are true and faithful…” (Revelation 21:5 KJV).

“..These sayings  (THESE WORDS) are faithful and true…” (Revelation 22:6 KJV).

“…These things (THESE WORDS) I have spoken unto you, that in me  (IN THE WORD) ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I (THE WORD OF GOD) have overcome the world…” (John 16:33 KJV).

The words “THESE THINGS” are always followed by a promise designed to comfort, guide, warn, direct, or inform the believer about the “JOYFUL” LIFE in Christ Jesus. “…I have told you these things (THESE WORDS) so that you will be filled with my joy…” (John 15:11 NLT).

“These things” expressed in John 15:11 represents the JOY promised, to the believer, “IF” they continue to ABIDE in the UNION with Christ Jesus, THE WORD OF GOD. “…THESE THINGS (THESE WORDSS0 have I spoken unto you that MY JOY…” (John 15:1-11 KJV).

BECOMING the “Gift of Salvation” for the lost sinner was a source of JOY to Jesus. “…Because of the JOY awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame…” (Hebrews 12:2 NIV).

Jesus suffered, labored, and died to RANSOM the lost sinner and generously give them the overflowing JOY of SALVATION. “…God will generously provide all you need…” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT). . “…my cup runneth over…” (Psalms 23:5 KJV). “….THE SON OF MAN CAME “NOT” to be served but to serve others and TO GIVE his life as a ransom for many…" (Matthew 20:28 NIV).

“These things” were spoken as blessings, warnings and directions for those who choose to ABIDING in his love through the UNION with Jesus Christ, THE WORD. The continual connection with Jesus, THE WORD, is the path to the A FRUITFUL LIFE. “…The branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me …” (John 15:4-6 NASB). . “…Apart from Me you can do nothing…” (John 15:4-6 NASB). “…If a man abide NOT in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned…” (John 15:6 KJV).

Therefore, keeping THESE WORDS or “these things” God has spoken to you, through Jesus, will fill you with JOY. This JOY depends, entirely, on ABIDING in THE WORD. “…I have told you these things  (THESE WORDS) so that you will be filled with my joy…” (John 15:11 NLT).

“These things” were also spoken to CLEAN and FREE the lost sinner from the effects of sin, the consequences of sin, and the POWER of sin. “…ye are CLEAN (FREED) through the WORD which I have spoken unto you…” (John 15:3 KJV). “…if the Son (the WORD)…shall make you FREE (clean), ye shall be FREE (clean) indeed.” (John 8:36 KJV).

Jesus, THE WORD, enables you to WALK in that deliverance and freedom when you continue to CHOOSE to receive his love, to be comforted by his Holy Spirit, and as an ongoing source of JOY! “…It is God which worketh in [me]… both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13 KJV).  “ …  walk in a manner worthy of the calling …” (Ephesians 4:1 NASB).“….CONTINUE IN MY LOVE….” (JOHN 15:9 KJV).

 “…THESE THINGS (THESE WORDS) have I spoken unto you that MY JOY …” (John 15:1-11 KJV). Jesus spoke words of instruction and truth. Knowing the truths, in John 15:1-11, serves the purpose of filling the believer with JOY.

Knowing the truths in the John 15 is NOT to simply encourage knowledge, but to encourage experience of the true and genuine JOY of one’s SALVATION. “…Thy word is truth” (JOHN 17:17 KJV). “…The truth shall MAKE YOU FREE (clean)…” (JOHN 8:32 KJV). OH,“…The JOY of your salvation…” (Psalms 51:12 NIV).

This joy is the JOY of ABIDING in the UNION with Christ, THE WORD and the JOY of what has been FREELY given by GRACE through FAITH. “…for BY GRACE have ye been saved THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, IT IS THE … [free] …GIFT OF GOD; not of works, that no man should glory…” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).

“…THESE THINGS (THESE WORDS) have I spoken unto you …” are referring to God’s WORD (John 15:1-11 KJV). God’s WORD FILLS you with “HIS” JOY. “…I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy…” (John 15:11 NLT).

 “…The WORD… [was] … made flesh, …” (John 1:14, 17 KJV). “…the WORD… [which]… came through Jesus Christ…” (John 1:14, 17 KJV). “… He (Jesus) had a name written, that no man knew … his name is called The Word of God…” (Revelation 19:12-13 NASB).

 “…The WORD… dwelt among us, we beheld his glory, glory of the ONLY begotten … [SON]… of the Father, full of grace and truth…” (John 1:14, 17 KJV). “…THESE THINGS (THESE WORDS) have I spoken unto you …” (John 15:1-11 KJV). “…the WORD… [which]… came through Jesus Christ…” (John 1:14, 17 KJV).

“…THERE ARE THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father (God), the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit): and THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV). God commands. Jesus speaks. The Holy Spirit does.

In other words, God commands; Jesus “SPEAKS” what God commands; the Holy Spirit “DOES” what Jesus SPEAKS and God commands. “…The Father (God), the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit)…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV).

God is the Father. Jesus is the Word of the Father. The Holy Spirit is the Power of the Father. “…THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV).

God THINKS, SPEAKS, and DOES.

The FATHER’s WORD is POWER and they are ONE. “…THERE ARE THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father (GOD), the Word (JESUS), and the Holy Ghost (POWER): and THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV).

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE: “…Then God SAID, “Let there be light”; AND THERE WAS LIGHT…” (Genesis 1:3 NASB). “…Then God SAID (God, the Father commanded), “Let there be light” (Jesus, the Word spoke his command); AND THERE WAS LIGHT (The Holy Spirit, the Power, did what was spoken and commanded) …” (Genesis 1:3 NASB).

“…In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being … (John 1:1-4 NASB).

The FATHER’s (God) WORD (Jesus) is POWER (Holy Spirit) and they are ONE. “…THERE ARE THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father (GOD), the Word (JESUS), and the Holy Ghost (POWER): and THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV).

Jesus, the WORD, speaks God, the Father’s command. “…These things (THESE WORDS) have I “spoken”….” (John 15:11 KJV). “… That  …”my joy” might remain in you….” (John 11:15 KJV).  

“… [Jesus is His]… dearly loved Son …who … bring[s him] … great joy….” (Mark 1:11 KJV).

God “ … sent His Son (His JOY)...” (1 John 4:10 KJV). “…The WORD (Joy was)… made flesh…” (John 1:14, 17 KJV). AND “…The word … [which]… came through Jesus Christ (God’s Joy)…” (John 1:14, 17 KJV). “…That ye believe on Him whom he hath sent…” (John 6:28-29 KJV).

Jesus said, “…my Father hath sent me (the word)…” (JOHN 20:19-21 KJV).  “… [the]…Father which hath sent me (the Word)...” (John 6:38 KJV).  “ … He hath sent me (the Word) to heal the brokenhearted, to PREACH deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised…” (John 4:16-21 KJV). “… HE …sent His Son (the Word)...” (1 John 4:10 KJV). “…He sent out his word (Jesus) and healed them…” (Psalms 107:20 NIV). “… My word (Jesus) … that goeth forth out of my mouth: …it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it…” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV). “…The WORD … full of grace and truth… [which]… came through Jesus Christ…” (John 1:14, 17 KJV). “…These things have I “spoken”….” (John 15:11 KJV). “… That  …”my joy” (my Word, Jesus) might remain in you….” (John 11:15 KJV).

“…Jesus Christ (God’s JOY) is in you…” (2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV). “…Christ in you, …” (Colossians 1:27 KJV). “… That  …”my joy” (Jesus) might remain in you….” (John 11:15 KJV). ^“…Christ liveth in me…” (Galatians 2:20 KJV).

The WORD (Jesus), which lives “IN” you, emanates straight from the bosom (most intimate) of God, the Father’s HEART. “…The only begotten (created) Son, which is in the bosom (secret, intimate place) of the Father, he hath declared (explained, revealed) him…” (John 1:18 KJV). “… Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and SENT His Son….” (1 John 4:10 KJV). “…The … SON (the WORD), which is in the BOSOM (secret, most intimate) of the Father…” (John 1:18 KJV).

God commands and Jesus SPEAKS from the most intimate place in his heart. “…These things have I “spoken”….” (John 15:11 KJV). “… That  …”my joy” (my Word) might remain in you….” (John 11:15 KJV). “… [His]… word (Jesus, God’s Joy)  … that goeth forth out of [his]… mouth … it shall accomplish that which [pleases God] …  and it shall prosper in the thing where to [God]… sent it…” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV).  “…Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made … failed; all came to pass…” (Joshua 21:45 NASB). God is “…watching over [his[… word to perform it…” (Jeremiah 1:12 NASB). “… That  …”my joy” might remain in you….” (John 11:15 KJV).

Jesus, God’s JOY, the LIVING Word is God, the Father’s salvation plan.“…Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (substitute, intervention) for our sins.” (1 John 4:10 KJV). “… [This] …was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his GRACE through Christ Jesus…” (2 Timothy 1:9 NLT).

Jesus is the ONLY REASON the sinner can come to God and become ALIVE again. “…Jesus saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me…” (John 14 6 KJV). “… [God] …made [you]… ALIVE with Christ  …” (Ephesians 2:5 NIV). Like the prodigal son, “… [YOU were]…. DEAD and [you have been made]… ALIVE AGAIN; [you were]… lost and [have been]… found…” (Luke 15:24 NIV).

Jesus, the visual and spoken WORD of God was the expression and example of his JOY toward you. “…Jesus saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me…” (John 14 6 KJV).

Jesus was NOT “ONLY” the speaking JOY, but, after he died he would be the indwelling, everlasting, and abiding JOY. “…Because of the JOY awaiting him, [Jesus]… endured the cross…” (Hebrews 12:2 NLT).

Jesus Christ expressed God’s heart, verbally and became the demonstration of his heart, visually. “….The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and TO GIVE his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28 NIV).

“…These things have I “spoken…”….” (John 15:11 KJV). Jesus SPOKE “these things” to bring sinners to GOD. He was also a LIVING witness of “these things” too. “…Christ …”DIED” for sins ONCE for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God…” (1 Peter 3:18 NASB).

Sin separated man from God. “… [Your] … iniquities (sin) …separated [YOU]… from God… …” (Isaiah 59:2 KJV).  

God had a plan of SALVATION in Jesus Christ. Jesus SPOKE about and BECAME that plan. “… [This] …was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his GRACE through Christ Jesus…” (2 Timothy 1:9 NLT).

JESUS SPOKE “THESE THINGS” “…These things have I “spoken…”….” (John 15:11 KJV). “…WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED…” (Romans 10:13 KJV). “…REPENT …AND BELIEVE the gospel…” (Mark 1:15 KJV).

JESUS BECAME “THESE THINGS” HE SPOKE. “…He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him…” (Hebrew 5:7-8-9 KJV). “….the ... [FREE]… gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 6:23 KJV).

“…THESE THINGS HAVE I SPOKEN UNTO YOU…” (JOHN 15:11 KJV). “…It was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. …” (1 Corinthians 1:20).
