ONCE UPON A TIME YOU WERE...ENLIGHTENED!

Once “enlightened” refers to an awakening
by spiritual truth, which REVEALS God, through his WORD who “IS” the LIGHT of
the world. “… His (Jesus) name is called The
Word of God…” (Revelation 19:12-13 NASB). “…
I am (jesus, the word of god) the
light of
the world..." (John 9:5, 8:12 KJV). “... the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake,
O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light... (Ephesians
5:19 NLT).

The “LIGHT” is the Gospel of TRUTH or the
WORD OF GOD. The WORD OF GOD “REVEALS” God. “…The only begotten (specially created) Son (Jesus, the WORD), of the
Father, he hath declared (explained or REVEALED) him…”
(John 1:18 KJV).“... He (THE WORD) is a light to reveal God to the nations...” (Luke 2:32 NLT). “.. A Light of revelation...” (LUKE 2:32 NASB).

(John 1:1-4 NASB. The WORD OF GOD “is” God, which means “it” represents the presence
of god as well as the presence of his goodness. “... the glorious gospel of christ (the word), who “is” the image of god...”
(2 Corinthians 4:4 kjv).
When god’s glory is upon something, it means,
at that moment, you are witnessing his “very” presence. “…The Son (the Word of God) is the RADIANCE (revelation) of God’s Glory (his presence) and the EXACT representation of his being (Holy nature))…” (Hebrews 1:3 KJV). “…Jesus saith unto him, Have I (the WORD of GOD) been so long
time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath SEEN ME (Jesus, the WORD of GOD)
HATH SEEN the Father (God); and how sayest thou then, Show us the
Father?” (John 14:9 KJV). “… I
(the WORD) and my Father are ONE [and the same]…”
(John 10:30 KJV). “…THERE ARE THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and

Mankind chooses to RECEIVE this LIGHT of
truth. “... after that we have RECEIVED
the knowledge of the TRUTH (enlightenment)... “(Hebrews 10:26 KJV). After
they RECEIVED this LIGHT of truth, they are enlightened. “... after ye were illuminated...” (Hebrew
10:32 KJV).
“... if we walk in the Light (illumination) as He Himself is in the Light ... the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin... (1 John 1:7 NASB). “... thanking the Father. He has enabled you to
share in the inheritance that belongs to
his people, who live in the light (the enlightenment)...” (Colossians 1:12 NLT).
The WORD of GOD is sent to those who
RECEIVE him to enlighten them. “… AS MANY as received him…”
(John 1:12 KJV). “…everyone who asks receives…”
(Matthew 7:8 NIV). “…receive the word implanted….” (James
1:21 NASB). “…God has sent forth the
Spirit
of His Son (the Word) “INTO” [YOUR HEART]…”
(Galatians 4:6 NASB). ). “…The Light
which … enlightens every man…” (John 1:19 NASB).
The WORD OF GOD dwells within them to
further enlighten them with the illumination of truth and instruction. “… The
Spirit of truth [enlightenment]... (the WORD) …will guide you into all the truth (God’s Holy
instructions). …” (John 16:13 NIV). “…BY THE
WORD of the Lord … [GOD ENLIGHTENS HIS PEOPLE] …”
(Psalms 33:6 NASB). “…GOD IS
SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV).
“…the [Word of God] is [also] that Spirit…” (2
Corinthians 3:17 KJV). “…THE WORDS THAT I
SPEAK …they
ARE [Holy]
SPIRIT…” (John 6:63 KJV). “…Jesus Christ (the
Word of God) is in you…” (2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV). “…the Spirit of God dwell[s] in
you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV).
The WORD of God becomes an INWARD
enlightenment. “... I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light (enlightenment/God’s truth)..” (Ephesians 1:18 NLT). “…The [word] of the LORD is
perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of
the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing
the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening
the
eyes. The
fear of the LORD is clean, enduring
forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the
drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned. In keeping them there is great reward …”
(Psalm 19:7-11 NASB). “…BY THE WORD (God’s WORD) of the Lord the heavens were made,..”
(Psalms 33:6 NASB). “…All things [COME] into being
through Him (the WORD of GOD),
and apart from [the WORD] nothing [COMES] into being that [WILL] come into

The first time you are DRAWN to or
APPREHENED by the LIGHT is when you HEAR the Gospel of SALVATION. “..If I (Jesus, the WORD of God) be lifted up from the earth, WILL DRAW all men
unto me…” (John 12:32 KJV). “… [The]
Good News about Christ
(GOD, the WORD)… It is the power of God at work, saving
everyone who believes (WHO DEPENDS UPON HIS
WORD)…” (Romans 1:16 NLT). “...[God’s WORD, the LIGHT]... hath called you out of darkness into
his marvellous light” (1
Peter 2:9 KJV). “... you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light...” (Ephesians 5: 8 NASB). “…The Light which … enlightens every man…” (John 1:19 NASB).
“… I am the light of the

eyes (to enlighten them), so they may turn from darkness
to light and from the
power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among
God’s people, who are set apart by faith in (or dependence upon) me (the Word
of God, the Light, the enlightenment)...”
(Acts 26:18 NLT).
“... The light
shines in the darkness...” (John 1:5 NLT). “...I am
the Light of the world; he who follows Me will
not walk in the darkness,
but will have the Light of life...” (John 8:12 NASB). “...But
if anyone walks in the
[darkness], he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” (John 11:10 NASB). “... Jesus (the Word) replied, “My light will shine for you just a
little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake
you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they
are going...” (John 12:35 NLT). “... I have come as a light to shine in this dark world,
so that all who put their trust
in me (their dependence upon me) will no
longer remain in the dark...” (John 12:46 NLT). “... For
God, who said, “Let there be light in the
darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus
Christ... (2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT).
How
did you get IN the DARK? Sin put mankind IN the dark. SIN IS BREAKING GOD’S HOLY LAW. Breaking
God’s Holy Law SEPARATES the HOLY SPIRIT or the LIGHT from YOU. “…Your INIQUITIES … separated … you and your God (the HOLY
LIGHT)…” (Isaiah 59:2 KJV).
SIN is “not”
just a collection of behaviors based on what you do; sin
is a symptom of what you are; a sinful nature.
“The
trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin.
I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I
don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. So I am not
the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do
what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good,
but I don’t. …I [am] …a slave to the sin
that is … within me. Who will free me from this life that is dominated by [the
terminal affect and influence of]... sin?
…” (Romans
7:14-25 NLT).
Sin, therefore, is an
INNATE, permanent, terminal CONDITION of the flesh (sinful nature), every male
and female is born with"…That which is born of the flesh is flesh…” (John 3:6
KJV).
This sinful nature was inherited from Adam
and Eve. Adam and Eve could ONLY reproduce what they had become, FLESH, because they were SEPARTED from God,
the Holy Spirit. Thus, “… all have
sinned (have a terminal condition), and come short of the glory of God (is born without the presence of
the indwelling Holy LIGHT)…” (Romans 3:23 KJV).
“,,, [Therefore,] ...through one man sin
entered (physical life without the indwelling Holy LIGHT entered) into
the world, and [spiritual] ...death through sin,
and so [spiritual] death passed to all
men, for that all sinned (all have been born without
the indwelling Holy LIGHT]—“(Romans 5:12 KJV). “…All have sinned and fallen short
of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23). “….I was born a sinner (I was born without the indwelling holy LIGHT)—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me….” (Psalms 51:5 NLT).
“... When Adam sinned, sin
entered the world. Adam’s sin brought
[spiritual] ... death, so [spiritual] ... death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned (is born without the
indwelling Holy LIGHT) ... But there is a great difference between Adam’s
sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin
of this one man, Adam, brought [spiritual] death to many. But even greater
is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other
man, Jesus Christ [brought spiritual LIFE (LIGHT). And the
result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one
man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to
condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God (being restored, reunited with the Holy Spirit, LIGHT again), even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused [spiritual] ... death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness (spiritual life and LIGHT, enlightenment), for all who receive
it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ (the Word, the Light, the
enlightenment)...” (Romans

everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone...” (John 1:4 NLT). “... In Him
was life, and the life was the Light of men...” (John 1:4 KJV).
“... Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light...” (John 12:35 NLT). “... While you have the Light, believe in (depend upon) the Light, so that you may become sons of Light...” (John 12:35 NASB).
“…, my righteous servant (Jesus)
... [made]... it possible for many
to be counted righteous, for he [bore] ... all their sins…”
(Isaiah 53:11 NLT). “…
[God sent the ] …one … who can reconcile
God and humanity—the
man Christ Jesus (his living word)…”
(1 Timothy 2:5 NLT). “... The judgment ...[will be]...
based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil...” (John 3:19
NLT). “... everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will
be exposed...” (John 3:20 NASB).
“…He that believeth on him is
not condemned: but HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, because
HE HATH NOT
BELIEVED in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION, that
light is come into the world, and MEN LOVED DARKNESS RATHER THAN LIGHT,
because THEIR
DEEDS WERE EVIL. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light,
neither cometh to the light,
lest his deeds should be reproved…”

“... He who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God....” (John 3:21 NASB). “... the fruit of the Light consists in all
goodness and righteousness and truth (enlightenment) ...” (Ephesians 5:9 NASB).
The church of Ephesus
was ENLIGHTENED by the truth, but nonetheless, they had FALLEN or DEPARTED from
Grace and needed to REPENT. “…Thou hast LEFT thy FIRST LOVE (God, the Holy Spirt; the Holy Light).
Remember, therefore, from whence thou art FALLEN, and repent (change your mind) and DO the first works…”
(Revelation 2:5 KJV).
This “FALLEN” or
“DEPARTED” experience may lead to the possibility of NOT being able to be
renewed again to repentance. “… For it is impossible
to bring back to repentance those
who were once enlightened (by God’s TRUTH, the WORD; the LIGHT)…”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
The FALLEN or DEPARTED
experience describes God’s people who have willfully and voluntarily CHOOSEN to
LEAVE, VACATE, MOVE AWAY FROM, BE SEPARATE FROM, or DIVORCE, God, the Holy Spirit; the Holy LIGHT. “…
I do not treat the grace of God as
meaningless…” (Galatians 2:21 NLT). “…Apart
from [Jesus, the Word, the LIGHT], you can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV). “… he doeth the works…” (John 14:10 KJV).
They have CHOOSEN to
depend upon themselves to live the Christian life, in their OWN way, which has
inadvertently returned them to a dictator-type lifestyle (ruled by the sinful
mindset) they had prior to the indwelling
Holy Spirit/Light. “…Apart from [Jesus, the Word,
the Light], you can do nothing…” (John 15:5
NIV).
“… he doeth the works…”
(John 14:10 KJV).
Deciding to depend upon
your SELF or your old sinful mindset (unrepentant) results in a FALLEN or DEPARTING
experience that produces a FORM of Christlike behavior, but in reality rejects the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit/Light.
“…
holding to a form (formula) of godliness, although they have denied its power (denied the
indwelling Power of God’s Holy Spirit/Light); Avoid such men as these…”
(2 Timothy 3:5 NASB). “… They will act religious, but they will reject the power (will reject the indwelling Holy
Power) that could make them [authentically] ... godly. Stay away
from people like that!” (2 Timothy 3:5 NLT). “…It is the
SPIRIT who gives “LIFE” (or LIGHT); the flesh profits nothing (gives “NO” light at all)…” (John
6:63 NASB).
The problem with the FALLEN or DEPARTED
experience is that: “… it is impossible
to bring [the fallen or departed] ... back to repentance
those who
were once enlightened—...
who then turn away (depart) from
God. It is
impossible to bring such people
back to repentance;
by rejecting the
Son of God (separating from HIM), they
themselves
are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
“… it
is impossible to bring back to repentance

were once enlightened— …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT). AT THIS POINT,
where it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to back someone BACK to REPENTANCE, ETERNAL
SECURITY will not HELP them; nor can it be their HOPE! “...HE THAT “SHALL” (WILL) ENDURE UNTO THE END
SHALL (WILL) BE SAVED...”
(Matthew 24:13 KJV).
JESUS IS THE WAY AND ETERNAL LIFE IS THE
DESTINATION! “… to ...
those who
were once enlightened— …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
“… repent and DO the first works…” (Revelation

“…EXCEPT YE REPENT, ye shall all likewise PERISH…”
