Misplaced faith comes when a woman expects
something from her husband that ONLY God can provide. To expect something from
a husband is to look forward to it happening. To look forward to something
happening is to have a certain amount of confidence that is will happen as you
expect it to.
Being confident a husband will do what you
expect him to do also require you to believe you WILL NOT become disappointed. Unfortunately,
a husband is only too human. He makes mistakes, or loses his resolve, or
changes his mind, or rebels, or doesn’t have the skills, or backslides, or doesn’t
want to anymore, or he’s forgotten. God says, “…HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT…
(ROMANS 5:5 NASB).
Hope in WHO? “…Trust [only]…in
the Lord with all thine
heart…”
(Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV). “….Don't put your
confidence in … people; there is no
help for you there….” (Psalms 146: 3 NLT).
God promises you “hope” and a “future”
(Jeremiah 29:11 KJV). “…For I know the thoughts that I think
toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not
of evil, to
give you an expected end…”

In other words, the woman who places her
faith in God and expects him to act on his unfailing word will NOT be
disappointed. She can be confident she will receive what she hopes for without
fail. “…As many as are
the promises of God, in Him they are yes …also … Amen …” (2 Corinthians 1:20
NASB).
“And this is the confidence that we have in him,
that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth
us…” (1 John 5:14 KJV).
“…You can
ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can
bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything
in my name, and I will do it...” (John 14:12-14 NLT). “…Not one of the good
promises which the Lord had made … failed; all came to pass…” (Joshua 21:45 NASB).
“…He has granted to [you]… His precious and magnificent promises…” (2 Peter 1:4 NASB).
Therefore, “…walk by faith...”

Wives are to have FAITH in their husbands
in a healthy, loving, and Christlike way, always leaving room for God’s grace,
mercy, and forgiveness. “…Lord,
how often shall my brother sin against
me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times,
but up to
seventy times seven…” (Matthew 18:21-22
NASB). “…LOVE covereth a multitude
of sins…” (Proverbs 10:12, 1 Peter 4:8 ASV). “…love
is PATIENT
… …love is kind. ….it KEEPS NO RECORD of wrongs …” (1
Corinthians 13: 4-8 NIV). “…In this world we
are like Jesus…” (1
John 4:17 NIV).
Wives are to place faith in their husbands,
but undergird it with MERCY and not judgement. “…Mercy
triumphs over judgement.”
(James 2:13 NASB). "…In everything,
therefore, TREAT people the same way you want them to TREAT you…”
(Matthew 7:12 NASB). “…DO NOT repay evil
with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil
with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing…”
(1 Peter 3:9 NIV). “…A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this
shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another…”
(John 13:34-35 KJV). “…Lord, how often should I
forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” (Matthew
18:21-22 NLT).
Both the husband and wife will make
mistakes along the way, whether intentional or unintentional. We ALL struggle
to overcome the effects of sin. “…The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin . I don’t really understand
myself, for I want
to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. So I am not the one
doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know
that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t.
I don’t want
to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. I have discovered this
principle of life—that when I want to do what is right,
I inevitably do what is wrong. I
[am] …a slave to the sin that is … within
me…” (Romans
7:14-25 NLT).
A woman can NOT throw ALL her faith in her
husband, because somewhere along the way MERCY will be necessary. The husband in his humanity will NOT always
get it right. The husband may say: “…I want
to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t…”
(Romans 7:14-25 NLT).
A good husband will ESCORT, GUIDE, or
encourage his wife to go to God who is truly the SOURCE for ALL her needs. “…I will supply all your
NEED…”
(Philippians 4:19 KJV). “[God’s] …Holy Spirit
…is the SOURCE [of it ALL]…” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
Many women, which is normal, have romantic
dreams about love and marriage. So did Solomon and his woman. “…The song of songs, which is Solomon’s. (The
woman:) Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for thy love is better than wine…(Solomon:) behold, thou art fair, my love, behold thou
are fair; thou hast dove eyes….thou art
fair, my beloved…” (Solomon
1:2, 15-16 KJV).
A woman believes her husband is the answer
to ALL her dreams and desires. He is not the answer, though he may share many
dreams and desires with her. “…DELIGHT
thyself also in the Lord; and he SHALL “GIVE” thee the DESIRES of thine heart…”
(Psalms 37:4 KJV).
A husband is a human PROVIDER. He also depends
on the ULTIMATE provider just the wife should or does. “..Let us
therefore come boldly unto the throne of GRACE, that
we may obtain mercy, and find GRACE to
help in time of need…” (Hebrews 4:16 KJV). “…God is able to make all GRACE abound toward you; that ye, always having all
sufficiency in all things…” (2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV).
When it comes to spiritual provisions, the
husband and wife, BOTH, must go to God for themselves. “….she is [the husband’s]…equal
partner in God’s gift of new life…”
(1 Peter 37 NLT). “…God SHOWS NO FAVORITISM. …” (Acts 10:34-36 NLT). “…God is no RESPECTER OF PERSONS: …” (Acts
10:34-36 KJV). “…Christ …. died for
sins ONCE for “ALL”…” (1 Peter 3:18 NASB). “…YE ARE “ALL” CHILDREN OF GOD
BY FAITH “IN” CHRIST JESUS.
…There is NEITHER ….male nor female…”
(Galatians 3:26-28 KJV). “…Therefore (man
and woman) come boldly unto the throne of GRACE …and find GRACE to help in time of need…”
(Hebrews 4:16 KJV).
The Holy Spirit is the
ONLY SOURCE for ALL spiritual needs. “…I will supply all your
NEED…”
(Philippians 4:19 KJV). “[God’s] …Holy Spirit
…is the SOURCE [of it ALL]…” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
The HOLY SPIRIT performs
ALL God’s command. “…In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the
Spirit of God
MOVED upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let
there be light: and THERE WAS LIGHT…”
(Genesis 1:1-3 KJV).
The earth was EMPTY and
DARK, but the Holy Spirit powerfully MOVED filling it with LIGHT. “…and THERE WAS LIGHT…” (Genesis 1:1-3 KJV).
Wives, whether
consciously or unconsciously, are looking to be fulfilled by their husbands. “…I [God]… satisfy …and refresh everyone …” (Jeremiah 31:25 NASB).
The wife spends
countless hours chasing after her husband’s attention in order to satisfy her
needs. Unfortunately, “….Human
desire is NEVER SATISFIED…” (Proverbs 27:20 NLT). Until she realizes only
“…God will supply all [your need]…”
(Philippians 4:19 NASB) AND “… [Only God will]… satisfy
…” (Jeremiah 31:25 NASB) – she will chase her husband for years.
Once and “IF” she finally catches her
husband’s attention, often she is disappointed. She is still NOT satisfied. “….Human
desire is NEVER SATISFIED…” (Proverbs
27:20 NLT).
Many women become sad, odious, contemptible,
disappointed, bitter, and older with unsatisfied desire in their hearts. . “…an odious
woman when she is married…”
(Proverbs 30:23 KJV). “…a contemptible woman when she is married…”
(Proverbs 30:23 NIV). “…a bitter woman who finally gets a
husband…” (Proverbs 30:23 NLT).
Others will give up. “…Let
us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we DO NOT GIVE UP…”
(Galatians 6:9 NIV).
There will still be others that become
complacent Christian martyrs who – bless their hearts – sacrificed their
desires for Christ. “…‘We’ve given up everything
to follow you…” (Mark 10:28-31 NLT).
And finally, the fortunate few, will stop
searching, because they have finally found that “ONE true SOURCE.” “…YOU SATISFY ME more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy…”
(Psalms 63:1-5 NLT).“…Bless
the Lord, O MY SOUL: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O MY
SOUL, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who
healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who
crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth
with good things;
so that thy youth is renewed like the
eagle's. …bless the Lord, O MY
SOUL…” (Psalms 103 KJV).
The unsatisfied woman approaches life like
a leech. They often suck the life out their husbands from their many unfair
demands. "The
leech has two daughters, 'Give! Give!'
they cry. "There are three things that are NEVER SATISFIED, four that never say, 'Enough!'…”
(Proverbs 30:15 NIV).
Like a homeless hustler on the corner with
a cup, the woman hustles for her needs from a husband who is also hustling for
his OWN needs. The truth is “….human desire is NEVER
SATISFIED…” (Proverbs 27:20 NLT). “…No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how
much we hear, we are not content…”
(Ecclesiastes 1:8 NLT).
A woman’s husband can
NEVER fix what is spiritually broken, dysfunctional, or unsatisfied. The
husband can NOT make some things right or fix what is spiritual broken; ONLY
God can. Humanly, “…What is wrong cannot be made right. What is missing cannot
be recovered…” (Ecclesiastes 1:15 NLT).
However, “…. is there any thing
too hard for [God]…?” (Jeremiah 32:27 KJV). “…the things which are impossible with men are possible with
God…” (Luke 18:27 KJV). “…The LORD will accomplish
(take care of)…that which concerns [you]…” (John 14:31 NASB).
When God allows his
daughters to go without or experience periods of emotional HUNGER or LACK for
days, weeks, months, or years…there is a reason.“…To every
thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a
time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill,
and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to
weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast
away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a
time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose …”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV).
“…The God of all grace, who hath called us
unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,
stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever
and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV).
After a wife has suffered
emotional hunger, or inadequate care, or provisional LACK, for a while, God
will “….make [her]… perfect, stablish, strengthen,
settle[d] …” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV).
God will perfect her by removing hindering
defects that kept her from living a full, wholeness Godly life. God will “….make [her]… perfect…” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV).
God will establish her heart to the point she
will NOT be easily shaken by every unexpected situation or circumstance. God
will “….make [her]… stablish …” (1 Peter
5:8-11 KJV).
God will strengthen her so she will be able to
stand against the wiles of the enemy and his forces of darkness. , God will “….make [her]… strengthen…” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV).
God will settle her heart and mind in peace,
joy, love, and safety by giving her a firm, stable, solid foundation in his
Word. , God will “….make [her]… settle[d] …” (1
Peter 5:8-11 KJV).
These benefits are
often gained after “…you suffer[ed]…
awhile…” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV). “…after that ye have suffered a while, [God]…make you
perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter
5:8-11 KJV).
“…After
[Jesus]… suffered a while…” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV). “[Jesus became]…highly exalted…” with a “name
which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9). In addition,“…at ...the name of Jesus
EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, of things in heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”
(Philippians 2:10-11 KJV).
“…After
[Job]… suffered a while…” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV). “…The Lord gave Job twice as much as he
had before …The Lord blessed the latter end of Job
more than his beginning:
….After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons and his
sons’ sons, even four generations. So Job died, being old, and FULL of days...” (Job
42:12-17 KJV).
“…After [Joseph]… suffered a while…”
(1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV). “…Pharaoh said unto
Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet
and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word
shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto
Joseph, See, I have set thee over all
the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring
from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of
fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he

the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being
gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor
was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the
smell of fire had passed on them. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his
servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded
their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own

Mary and Martha
suffered emotional pain over their brother’s death. Yet, “…after [they]… suffered a while…” (1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV). “…Jesus said [to them]…I am the resurrection and I am the life…..”
(John 11:25 KJV). “…..Said
I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory
of God?” (John 11:40 KJV). “…Where have ye laid him?..’ (John
11:34 KJV). “And he that was dead came forth, bound hand
and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus
saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go...” (John
11:43-44 KJV).
In EVERY single
instance you clearly see Satan “…intended to harm [them]… but God intended it for good…” Genesis 50:20 NIV).
“…All things work together for good to them that
love God, to them who are
the called according to his purpose…” (ROMANS 8:28 KJV).
In each story, there were periods of
emotional hunger, inadequate care, heartache, tears, disappointment, unimaginable
loss, or some kind of LACK, but the SOURCE FIXED them ALL. “…Jesus, the champion who
initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the
joy awaiting him, he endured the
cross, disregarding its shame…”
(Hebrews 12:2 NLT). “…DO NOT GIVE UP…” (Galatians 6:9 NIV).
“….Christ pleased not himself…”
(Romans 15:3 KJV). Jesus said, “… I lay down my life... No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of
my own accord. …”
(John 10:17-18 KJV). “…Father, …not My
will, but Yours be done"
(Luke 22:42-43 NIV).
Job said, “...though he slay me, yet will I trust in him…” (Job 13:15 KJV). “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed
be the name of the Lord…” Job 1:20-22 NASB).
Joseph said, “… [It was]…intended to harm [me]… but God intended it for
good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives…”
Genesis 50:20 NIV).
The Hebrew boys said, “…“O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend
ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us.
He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he
doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will
never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up…” (Daniel 3:16-18 NLT).
Mary and Martha: “…Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the
life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me
and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” “Yes, Lord,” she told him. “I have always believed you are the
Messiah, the Son of God, the one who has come into the world from God…” (John
11:15-17 NLT).
Whatever the LOSS a wife has experience or
whatever the LACK she has endured, like Jesus, continue to “…[entrust yourself]… to HIM who judges justly…”
(1 Peter 2:20-23 NIV).
Paul said, be content
no matter what you do or do not have. “…I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be
in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,
whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want…”
Philippians 4:11-12 NIV).
Paul
concluded that whatever he lacked was “….worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing
Christ Jesus [his]… Lord. For
his sake I (Paul) have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage,
so that I could gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8 NLT).
Whatever a wife has GIVEN up or SACRIFICED
to follow God; he will PERSONALLY reward her. “…‘We’ve given up everything to follow you…” (Mark 10:28-31
NLT). And Jesus said to him, “…I assure you that everyone
who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children
or property, for my sake and for the
Good News, will receive now in return
a hundred times as many houses, brother, sisters, mothers, children, and
property – along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life...”
(Mark 10:28-31 NLT).
Misplaced faith will get you NO WHERE, but
if you put your FAITH in God you be UTTERLY blessed in “THIS” life. “…I assure you that EVERYONE who has given up… [whatever] …for my sake and for the Good News, will receive NOW in return a hundred times as many …[whatever]…– along with persecution. AND in the world to come that person
will have eternal life...” (Mark 10:28-31 NLT).
“….[Your] FATHER which SEETH
in secret, SHALL “REWARD” [you]… OPENLY….”
(Matthew 6:18 KJV). Each person, in the scriptures
above were OPENLY rewarded. Jesus was exalted above all others. Job was doubly
blessed. Joseph was elevated. The Hebrews boys were promoted. Mary and Martha
received their brother back from the dead.
Who was the SOURCE of their REWARD or
BLESSING? “[God’s] …Holy Spirit …is the SOURCE [of it
ALL]…” (2 Corinthians 12 NLT).
A woman can confidently expect to receive
from God. “… I assure you that EVERYONE who has given up… [whatever]
…for my sake and for the Good News,
will receive
NOW in return a hundred times”
(Mark 10:28-31 NLT).
The ONLY sign and symbol that a woman has
that God will return untold blessings
to her; IS HIS WORD!!! God says he is “…WATCHING OVER [his]…
WORD TO PERFORM IT …” (Jeremiah 1:12 NASB). “…So shall my word be that goeth forth out of
my mouth: IT
SHALL NOT RETURN UNTO ME VOID, but it shall
accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing
whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV).
“…Not one of the good promises which the Lord
had made to the house of Israel failed; ALL CAME TO PASS…” (Joshua 21:45
NASB).
If she looks for signs and symbols in
people or things instead of God’s word, she will be disappointed EVERY time. “….Don't put your confidence in … people [OR
THINGS]… there
is NO HELP for you there….” (Psalms 146: 3 NLT).
However, if she keeps her FOCUS on God’s
Word, no matter how many days, weeks, months, or years have passed; she will be
rewarded by her heavenly Father. “…WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE
DISAPPOINTED…" (ROMANS 10:11 NASB). “…and HOPE
DOES NOT DISAPPOINT… (ROMANS 5:5 NASB). THEREFORE, “…TRUST in the Lord with all thine
heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV). “…The LORD will accomplish (take care of)…that
which concerns [you]…” (John 14:31 NASB).
When you are praying for someone or some
situation and days, weeks, months and years pass by; it is easy to get caught
up with what you SEE or what you HEAR. “…live
by faith, not
by sight...” (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV).
It is also tempting to begin to falsely
believe that what you SEE or what you HEAR is GREATER than continuing to
believe God’s word by faith. “…walk by faith...” (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV). “…TRUST
in the Lord with
all thine heart; and lean not
unto thine own understanding. …”

my mouth: it
shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it…” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV).
“….THE
WORDS that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are life…” (John 6:63 KJV). “…MY WORD …shall not return

A Godly woman is
encouraged to ask God for ANYTHING and she can expect him to DO it. “… [She]… can ask for
ANYTHING in my name, and [God]…will do it, so that the Son can
bring GLORY to the Father ...” (John 14:12-14 NLT). Jesus said this about Lazarus: “…..This sickness is not unto death, but for the
GLORY of God…” (John 11:4 KJV). “…Jesus said to her (Lazarus’ sister), "Did I not say to you that if
you believe, you will SEE THE GLORY OF GOD?”(John 10:40
NASB). “…Jesus [also]…said…I
AM the resurrection and I AM the life…..” (John 11:25 KJV). “…And HE
THAT WAS DEAD CAME FORTH...” (John 11:43-44 KJV).
When situations,
circumstances, and marriages “seem” DEAD and impossible to FIX; the wife should
continue to TRUST in God. “…The things
which are impossible with men are possible with God…” (Luke 18:27 KJV). "… If [the woman continues to
believe, she]…will
SEE THE GLORY OF GOD?”(John 10:40 NASB).
If a wife continues to PLACE her faith in God; she will see him
move in her situations and circumstances. “…The Spirit of God…
[powerfully]…move[s]…”
(Genesis 1:1-3 KJV). “…The invisible
[Spirit]… …is clearly
seen…” (Romans 1:20 KJV).
"…[She]…
will SEE THE GLORY OF GOD?”(John 10:40 NASB). “…[God’s] …Holy Spirit …[WILL BE]… the SOURCE [of it ALL]…”
(1 Corinthians 12: 4-11 NLT).
The wife should continue to PLACE her
faith in God and NOT MISPLACE her faith in what she SEES or HEARS. “…live by faith, not by sight...” (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV).
She will SEE her HOPE come to fruition
with her OWN eyes. “And HE THAT WAS DEAD CAME FORTH...”
(John 11:43-44 KJV). “…[God’s] …Holy Spirit
…[WILL BE]… the SOURCE [of it ALL]…” (1 Corinthians 12:
4-11 NLT).
