SUPERIORITY: THE CHOSEN RACE
*
“But ye are a CHOSEN
generation, a royal priesthood, an HOLY NATION….” (1 Peter 2:9 KJV).
*
Biological race refers to a person’s physical features such a skin color, hair
type, bone structure, DNA, or the color of one’s eyes. Ethnicity refers to group factors such as nationality, language, traditions,
ancestral history, shared commonalities, or particular cultural practices.
Spiritual
race refers to a person’s
fruitful features such a love, joy peace, patience, etc. Spiritual ethnicity refers to group factors
too such as being part of the kingdom nation, using the same biblical language,
following the same Christian traditions, sharing the same ancestral history (Abraham’s
seed), all have the indwelling spirit, and share the same cultural practice of
walking by faith.
Your biological race determines how you look on the outside, while your ethnicity determines
socialization or what people you
belong to.
Your spiritual race determines how you look on the inside, while your spiritual
ethnicity determines socialization to or to
whom you belong
Biological race usually separates people into polarized groups
based on genetic physical features. Ethnicity usually separates people into
groups based on common nationality or shared cultural practices.
Spiritual race usually sets people apart into the body of Christ
based on being SAVED by faith in Jesus Christ. Spiritual ethnicity usually sets
people apart into the body of Christ group who are members of the Kingdom
nation and share Christ-like practices.
Biological race and ethnicity have often caused unpleasant and
violent conflict between people or groups.
Spiritual race and spiritual ethnicity was meant to bring people
together in pleasurable brother and sister hood and promote peace and love
among all people and groups.
Biological race relations are a common and known conflict or
strife around the world. For instance, in America, especially American history.
Biological race and ethnic discrimination is still felt,
experienced, and acted upon in American today, even in some, if not most, Christian
communities. “……There is NEITHER Jew nor Greek, there
is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female…” (Galatians
3:26-28 KJV).
The first man and woman were NOT described
in terms of skin tone, RACE or ETHNICITY, but IMAGE (God-likeness). “….let us make man in our image,
after our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26 KJV).
“…..God created man in his own image…..male
and female created he them…” (Genesis 1:27 KJV). “….God formed man of the dust of the ground (BODY), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (SPIRIT); and man became a living soul
(SOUL)…” (Genesis 2:7 KJV). When “….God saw every thing he had made……and, [said] … it was VERY GOOD…”
(Genesis 1:31 KJV).
When you think of image, keep in mind that God is Spirit and being created in his image or likeness (Latin for imago Deo)
refers not to skin tone, biological race or ethnicity, but Spirit. “…GOD IS SPIRIT…”
(John 4:24 KJV). “….Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26 KJV).
“….God …breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life (SPIRIT)…”
(Genesis 2:7 KJV).
Any kind of graven image is
wrong! Skin tones, biological races, or ethnicities who have put their images
in place of or as an example of spiritual deity to present themselves as
looking like God is a GRAVEN image. “… You
shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of
what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You
shall not worship them or serve them…”
(Exodus 20:3-5 NASB). “…‘You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured
stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God…”
(Leviticus 26:1 NASB). “… The children of God … ought not to think that the Divine Nature
is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed
by the art and thought of man…”
(Acts 17:39 NASB). “… so that you do not act corruptly and make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any
figure, the likeness of male or female, the
likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird
that flies in the sky, the
likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the
likeness of any fish that is in the water
below the earth. And
beware not to lift up your eyes
to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and
be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven…”
(Deuteronomy 4:16-19 NASB). “I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory
to another, Nor My praise to graven images…” (Isaiah 42:8 NASB). “…He also makes a god (with a piece of
wood) and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before
it…” (Isaiah 44:15 NASB). “… Their
idols are
silver and gold, The work of
man’s hands. They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see; They
have ears, but they cannot hear; They have
noses, but they cannot smell; They have hands, but they
cannot feel; They have feet, but they cannot
walk; They cannot make a sound with their throat. Those who make them will become like them, Everyone who trusts in them …[instead of the HOLY God]…”
(Psalms 115:4-8 NASB).
God did NOT CHOOSE the
Israelites because of their skin tone, biological race, or their ethnic group. They
were the fewest and least of ALL people. “…The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because
you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the FEWEST of all peoples. …” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
The
Israelites BECAME “special” because the HOLY, SUPERIOR God choose them. “… the
Lord
thy God hath chosen thee
to be a special people...”
(Deuteronomy
7:6). “…it
is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it
nor work for it…”
(Romans 9:14-16 NLT).
The WAY they STOOD out
or was SET APART from other people on earth was not by their skin tone,
biological race, or ethnic group, BUT “BECAUSE God choose them. “… the
Lord
thy God hath chosen thee
to be a special people...”
(Deuteronomy
7:6).
God initiated the invitation to Israel to
become his special people. They could only accept or reject the offer.
They BECAME “special” AFTER God CHOOSE
them. “… [god
hath]… chosen thee to be
a special people...”
(Deuteronomy
7:6).
God made MANY covenants with Israel. “…
Now then, if you will indeed obey My
voice and keep My covenant, then you
shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be
to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you
shall speak to the sons of Israel…”
(Exodus 19:5-7 NASB).
God initiated the terms
of the covenants he made with Israel. Again they could ONLY accept or reject his
offer.
God had a “DIVINE”
PURPOSE for the Israelites as seem clearly
through his covenant with Abraham, Jacob’s (Israel) grandfather. God said: “…I will bless thee …and thou shalt be a blessing… and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed…”
(Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
That Abrahamic covenant
promise is still in place today through Jesus Christ. “…Christ
hath REDEEMED us from the
curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every
one that hangeth on a tree: That the “BLESSING of Abraham (ancestor of the Isarelites)”
might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that WE MIGHT receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith…” (Galatians 3:13-14 KJV).
God ALWAYS makes covenants of
agreements to be in an absolute committed relationship with the people he chooses
for his own. God initiated an implied covenant with Adam and Eve. “….And
God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the
earth.... And the Lord God commanded the man, “You
are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat
from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you
will certainly die….” (Genesis 1:28 KJV, 2:16 -17 NIV).
After the flood, God initiated a covenant
with Noah. “…God said to Noah and
to his sons with him: “I
now establish my covenant with you and with
your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with
you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out
of the ark with you—every living creature on earth.…” (Genesis 9:9-10 NIV).
Later,
God initiated a covenant with Abram (Abraham). “And when Abram was ninety years old and
nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I
am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply
thee exceedingly…. my covenant is with
thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations…..thy name shall be
Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee….And I will make thee
exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out
of thee. And I will establish my covenant
between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an
everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou
art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I
will be their God. Thou shalt keep my
covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep,
between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man
child among you shall be circumcised…”
(Genesis 17 KJV).
Finally, God initiated
the NEW covenant through Jesus. “…For I
received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the
night he was betrayed, took bread,
and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This
cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it,
in remembrance of me…” (1 Corinthians 11:23-25
NIV).
There are many other covenants
God initiated, but I only mentioned four and will briefly discuss two.
Christianity recognizes the Israelites as
being the chosen people of the Ancient Near East. So let’s talk a little about
the Abrahamic covenant.
In the Old Testament the term Israelites
referred to the direct descendants of the 12 sons of Jacob (renamed Israel), or
the natives of the ancient Northern Kingdom of Israel, or the worshippers of
the God of Israel, or a member of God’s
chosen people.
The OT Israelites were also called the
Hebrews, which, of course, included the twelve tribes of Israel (Jacobs 12
sons). They were God’s chosen people. “…For you are a people holy to the Lord
your God. The Lord your God has CHOSEN YOU out of all
the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The Lord
did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous
than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. BUT it was because
the Lord loved you and kept the
oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and
redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh
king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord
your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a
thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments…” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
Was
it because of their skin tone, biological race, or ethnic group? No, it was
because the SOVEREIGN God DECIDED to CHOOSE them. God initiated the
relationship. “…The Lord
your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth
to be his people, his treasured possession. …” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
God
choose Israel “TO BE” his people because he had a PURPOSE. “… salvation … [comes from] …
of the Jews…” (John 4:22 KJV). “…BUT it
was because the Lord LOVED YOU and
KEPT THE OATH he swore to your ancestors …” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9
NIV). “… You
are the children of those prophets, and you
(Israelites) are included in the covenant God promised to
your ancestors.
For God said to Abraham, ‘Through your descendants
all the families on earth will be
blessed.’ When
God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to
you people of Israel,
to bless you by turning each of you back
from your sinful ways…” (Acts 3:25-27 NLT).
Israel
ABANDONED God many, many, many times throughout biblical history. “…But my people have stubborn and rebellious
hearts. They have turned away and ABANDONED me….”
(JEREMIAH 5:23 NLT). “…They ABANDONED ME and did not obey my word….” (JEREMIAH 16:11 NLT). “….They ABANDONED the Lord, the God
of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods
(IDOLS)…” (Judges 2:12 NLT).
“…They ABANDONED the Lord to serve Baal (THEIR Graven images)…”
(Judges 2:13 NLT). “….They ABANDONED the Lord and no longer served him at all…”
(Judges 10:6 NLT). “…Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually ABANDONED ME and followed other gods (Graven
images)…” (1 Samuel 8:8 NLT). “…He ABANDONED Lord, the God of his ancestors, and he refused
to follow the Lord’s ways…” (2 Kings 21:22
NLT).“…For my people have ABANDONED ME and offered sacrifices to pagan gods
(HUMAN DESIRE), …” (2 Kings 22:17 NLT).“…He ABANDONED the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin…” (2 Chronicles 12:1 NLT).“…They ABANDONED
the Lord… they turned their backs on him….”
(2 Chronicles 29:6 NLT).
Yet
God had CHOOSE Israel and continued to keep his covenant promise to them even
when they forgot all about him. “… [YOU]…
FORGOT all about ME,” says the Lord…”
(Hosea 2:13 NLT). “…Does a young woman
forget her jewelry, or a bride her wedding dress? Yet for years on end my people have FORGOTten ME…” (Jeremiah 2:32 NLT).
So
it is “NOT” based on skin tone, biological race, or ethnicity that the
Israelites continued to remain God’s CHOSEN people, but because GOD was keeping
the oath he swore to their ancestors. What was that OATH?
“And when Abram was ninety years old and
nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I
am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply
thee exceedingly…. my covenant is with
thee, and thou
shalt be a father of MANY NATIONS…..thy name shall be Abraham; for a
father of many nations have I made thee….And I will make thee exceeding
fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me
and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting
covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.…”
(Genesis 17 KJV).
“…And
I will make of
thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing. …And in thee SHALL ALL FAMILIES of the earth be
blessed…”
(Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
God did the choosing.
God initiated, established, and KEPT the covenant. “…If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is…” (2
Timothy 2:13 NLT).
God remained FAITHFUL
to the covenant promise he made to the Israeli forefathers.
“… The … FAITHFUL
love of the Lord, [for you], NEVER ENDS...!”(Lamentations
3:22-23 NLT). “…If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness…” (1 John 1:9 KJV). “…I will forgive …and will
remember their sins no more…" (Hebrews 8:12 NIV).
God
said to the Israelite forefathers: “…I WILL establish my covenant between
me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting
covenant,
to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee…” (Genesis
17 KJV).
God said: “…thou shalt be a father of MANY NATIONS…” (Genesis
17 KJV).
God
said: “…And
I WILL make of
thee a great nation... …And in thee SHALL ALL FAMILIES of the earth be
blessed…”
(Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
“….The Lord your God is God; HE
is the faithful God, KEEPING his covenant of LOVE to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments…” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
The
reason I am elaborating on the Abrahamic covenant it is the most relevant to
Christianity today. “…I will establish my covenant
between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an
everlasting covenant…”
(Genesis 17 KJV).
The
covenant promise to Abraham, the Israelite forefather, was a promise that
reached up through the generations to include you and every other believer. “…And in thee SHALL
ALL FAMILIES of the earth be blessed…” (Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
Apostle
Paul reiterates, describes, and bridges the old Abrahamic covenant with the new
covenant in Christ Jesus, the seed of Abraham. “…I will
establish my covenant between me and thee and THY SEED…” (Genesis
17 KJV).
“…And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the HEATHEN THROUGH FAITH,
preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall ALL NATIONS be blessed…”
(Galatians 3:8 KJV). “…What’s more, the
Scriptures looked forward to this time when
God would make the GENTILES right in his sight because of their faith. God
proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, “ALL NATIONS will be
blessed through you…” (Galatians 3:8 NLT). “…And in thee SHALL ALL
FAMILIES of the earth be blessed…”
(Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
Apostle
Paul claimed it was because of his hope in the covenant promise to the
forefathers, that he stood judged. “… I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of
God, unto our fathers…” (Acts 26:6 KJV). “…I am on
trial because of my hope in the fulfillment of God’s promise made to our
ancestors…” (Acts 26:6 NLT).
God’s oath was made in
the Abrahamic covenant to the Israelite forefathers and their seed. “…I will
establish my covenant between me and thee and THY SEED…” (Genesis
17 KJV). “Now to Abraham and HIS SEED were the promises made. He saith NOT, And to seedS, as of many;
but as of one, And
to THY SEED, which is Christ…” (Galatians 3:16 KJV). “…God proclaimed this good
news to Abraham long ago when he said, “ALL NATIONS will be blessed through you…” (Galatians 3:8 NLT). “…And in thee SHALL ALL FAMILIES of the earth be blessed…” (Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
The
Abrahamic covenant embodies GREAT hope for ALL humanity. Because of “…THY SEED [Abraham], …which is Christ…” all
NATIONS are blessed.
The Abrahamic covenant was NOT limited to
skin tone, biological race, or ethnic group, but that ALL nations could become
a part of the old Abrahamic covenant through the new covenant in Christ Jesus.
(Galatians 3:16 KJV). “…So now you Gentiles are no
longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members
of God’s family. Together,
we are his house, built on
the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself…” (Ephesians 2:19-20 NLT).
The new covenant doesn’t
abolish the old covenant, it fulfills it. “…Think not
that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy,
but to fulfil. For verily
I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no
wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break
one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the
least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same
shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven…” (Matthew 5:17-19 KJV).
“…Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the
law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their
purpose. I
tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest
detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. So if you ignore the least
commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in
the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be
called great in the Kingdom of Heaven…”
(Matthew 5:17-19 NLT).
Remember a covenant,
similar to a marriage, is an agreement between two people. Both people are to
fulfill the conditions of the covenant agreement.
In the OT, if a person
DIDN’T fulfill the responsibilities, of the agreement, it either broke the
covenant or the person could die.
However, in an
unconditional covenant, like the one God made with Abraham, only God had to
keep the covenant conditions. “…Take me an heifer of three years old, and a
she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove,
and a young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and
divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another... And
when the sun was going down, a deep
sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
…And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking
furnace, and a burning lamp that passed
between those pieces. In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, [God promised Abram,] saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt
unto the great river, the river Euphrates:…”(Genesis 15 KJV).
The above scriptures
provide an example of a one-party covenant agreement. God (represented as the smoking
furnace and burning lamp) “…passed
between the pieces…”
Abraham fell into a “…deep sleep…” and did not participate in
passing between the pieces of animal sacrifices. “…The Lord [God] made [the] covenant with Abram…” Since God made the
one-party covenant, he was responsible for the binding agreement and indebted
to fulfill it.
God made the covenant
promise to Abraham and he obligated himself by demonstrating the unconditional
nature of the agreement.
“…I will establish my covenant between me
and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting
covenant…”
(Genesis 17 KJV). “…The
Lord your God is God; HE is the faithful God, KEEPING his
covenant of LOVE to a thousand generations of
those who love him and keep his commandments…” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
“…The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave
your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the
land that I will show you. I
will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and
you will be a blessing to others. I will
bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the
families on earth will be blessed through you…”
(Genesis 12:1-3 NLT).
It was totally up to
God ALONE to fulfill his covenant promises.
However, God did ask
Abraham to accept the offer he’d made by responding to the covenant with a specific sign, - not skin tone, not biological
race, and not ethnic group – but they were to circumcise all males in his
generational line. “…Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in
their generations. This is my covenant,
which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised…”
(Genesis 17 KJV).
Circumcision was simply
a distinguishing mark, for the time being, to indicate they had accepted God’s
offer to be his covenant people. “…between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised…”
(Genesis 17 KJV).
They were NOW God’s
special and chosen people, who were privy to the unconditional and everlasting
covenant of LOVE that would bring blessings to all nations. “…I will
establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their
generations for an EVERLASTING covenant…” (Genesis
17 KJV).
God promised Abraham
and his descendants LAND. God promised to make Abraham a GREAT NATION and bless
his SEED. God promised to bless ALL the FAMILIES of the world through him.
God gave Abraham’s
descendants the LAND. Abrahams’ descendants possessed the land and eventually
settled there. Israel is still an established nation/land today.
The new covenant is the
continuation of God’s promise to Abraham used to make his descendants as
numerous as the sand – not based on skin tone, biological race, or ethnicity -but
through faith in Jesus Christ. “…Dear
brothers and sisters, here’s an example from everyday life. Just as no one can
set aside or amend an irrevocable agreement, so it is in this case. God gave the promises to Abraham and his child.
And notice that the Scripture doesn’t say “to his children,” as if it
meant many descendants. Rather, it says “to his child”—and that, of course,
means Christ. This is what I am trying to
say: The agreement God made with Abraham
could not be canceled 430 years later when God gave the law to Moses. God
would be breaking his promise. For if
the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the
result of accepting God’s promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise…”
(Galatians 3:15-18 NLT).
The NEW covenant is NOT
limited to the natural descendants of Abraham simple based on SKIN TONE,
BIOLOGICAL RACE or ETHNICITY; remember they were the fewest of ALL peoples. “…The
Lord did not set his affection on
you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the FEWEST
of all peoples. …”
(Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
The NEW covenant is
UNLIMITED in its inclusion in order to grow Abraham’s descendants into a GREAT
NATION, as God promised. It is based on FAITH in JESUS CHRIST. “…I will make you into a GREAT NATION. …you will be a blessing
to OTHERS…” (Genesis 12:1-3 NLT). “…[Through]…THY SEED,
which is Christ…” (Galatians 3:16 KJV). “…And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the HEATHEN THROUGH FAITH,
preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall ALL NATIONS be blessed…”
(Galatians 3:8 KJV). “…What’s more, the
Scriptures looked forward to this time when
God would make the GENTILES right in his sight because of their faith. God
proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, “ALL NATIONS will be
blessed through you…” (Galatians 3:8 NLT). “…And in thee SHALL ALL
FAMILIES of the earth be blessed…”
(Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
The
New covenant is God’s continued and faithful promise to Abraham made thousands
of years ago. Jesus is the mediator. “…For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that,
since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that
were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive
the promise of the eternal inheritance…” (Hebrews 9:15 NASB).
“…And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the HEATHEN THROUGH FAITH, preached before the gospel
unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall ALL NATIONS be blessed…” (Galatians
3:8 KJV).
The NEW covenant makes
NO distinction between Abraham’s natural descendants and his descendants by
faith. “……There is NEITHER Jew nor Greek, there
is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female…” (Galatians
3:26-28 KJV).
Both Hebrew and Gentile
must believe, repent, and be restored to God through Christ. “…ALL HAVE SINNED (including Abraham’s natural descendants
based on skin tone, biologic race, or ethnicity) and fallen short of the glory
of God…” (Romans 3:23). “…There is none righteous, no, not one:” (Romans 3:10 KJV). “…There is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth
not…” (Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV).
“…the wages of sin is
death…” (Romans 6:23 KJV).
God kept his promise to
Abraham and his descendants, but they DID NOT stay faithful to God. They
abandoned and FORGOT God over and over again. “…Yet for years on end my people have FORGOTten ME…” (Jeremiah 2:32 NLT). “…But when you had eaten and were satisfied,
you became proud and FORGOT ME….”
(Hosea 13:6 NLT). “… [YOU]… FORGOT all about ME,”
says the Lord…” (Hosea 2:13 NLT). “…And because you have FORGOTten
ME and turned your back on me, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
You must bear the consequences…” (Ezekiel 23:35 NLT).
God kept his oath and
remained faithful to Abraham’s descendants, but they forgot him and abandoned
him. “….They ABANDONED
the Lord, the God of their ANCESTORS (Abraham), who had brought
them out of Egypt. They went after other gods…” (Judges 2:12
NLT). “…But my people have stubborn and
rebellious hearts. They have turned away and ABANDONED me….”
(JEREMIAH 5:23 NLT). “…They ABANDONED ME and did not obey my word….” (JEREMIAH 16:11 NLT). “…They ABANDONED the Lord to serve Baal…” (Judges 2:13 NLT). “….They ABANDONED
the Lord and no longer served him at all…” (Judges 10:6 NLT).
“…Ever
since I brought them from Egypt they have continually
ABANDONED ME and followed other gods…”
(1 Samuel 8:8 NLT). “…He ABANDONED the Lord, the God of his ancestors, and he refused
to follow the Lord’s ways…” (2 Kings 21:22
NLT).
“…For
my people have ABANDONED ME and offered
sacrifices to pagan gods…” (2 Kings 22:17 NLT). “…They ABANDONED the Lord… they
turned their backs on him….” (2 Chronicles 29:6 NLT). “…He ABANDONED
the Law of the Lord, and ALL
ISRAEL followed him in this sin…” (2 Chronicles 12:1 NLT).
Abraham’s descendants
sinned against God and their sin separated them from God. “… [their] … iniquities (sin) …separated [them]… from [their]… God… …” (Isaiah 59:2 KJV).
Jesus Christ,
therefore, became the atoning sacrifice in order to restore or reconcile ALL God’s
people BACK to Him, including his original CHOSEN ones. “He is the atoning sacrifice for …sins…” (1
John 2:2 NIV).
ALL NATIONS can NOW be
reconciled into a covenant relationship with God THROUGH Christ. “…This
cup is the new
covenant in my blood …which
is poured out for you…”
(Luke 22:20 ASV). “This is my blood of
the covenant, which is poured out for many for
the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28 KJV).
Jesus is evidence of God’s FAITHFUL,
COMMITTED LOVE and his UNBREAKABLE promise to Abraham, his descendants, and ALL
NATIONS. “….I
tell you that Christ has become a servant of … [Abraham’s descendants]… on
behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be
confirmed…” (Romans 15:8 NIV). “BUT it was because the Lord
LOVED YOU and KEPT THE OATH he swore to your ancestors that he brought
you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery,
from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord
your God is God; he is the FAITHFUL God, keeping his covenant of love to
a thousand generations of those who love him and keep
his commandments…”
(Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
“…God so loved the
world (Abraham’s descendants and ALL NATION) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should
not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). “…Because the Lord
LOVED YOU and KEPT THE OATH he swore to your ancestors…” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV).
“…HEREIN IS LOVE, NOT that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son to be
the propitiation (substitute, intervention) for our sins.”
(1 John 4:10 KJV). “…Christ
also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to
God …” (1 Peter 3:18 KJV). Therefore, God “…spared
not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all (Abraham’s
descendants and ALL NATIONS)….?” (Romans 8:32 KJV).
“…Know therefore that the Lord
your God is God; he is the FAITHFUL God, keeping
his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those
who love him and keep his commandments…” (Deuteronomy 7:6-9 NIV). “…Christ … died for
sins ONCE for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us TO GOD…” (1 Peter 3:18 NASB).
Therefore, “…There is NEITHER Jew (Abraham’s descendants) nor Greek (All
Nations), there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for
YE ARE ALL ONE
IN CHRIST JESUS…” (Galatians 3:26-28 KJV). “…Christ
…. died for sins ONCE for “ALL”…” (1 Peter 3:18 NASB). “…YE ARE “ALL” CHILDREN OF GOD BY FAITH “IN” CHRIST JESUS. … YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS…”
(Galatians 3:26-28 KJV).
This is a sobering and profound truth for
both Abraham’s descendants and ALL NATIONS.
All skin tones, all biological races, and all ethnic groups have SINNED.
“…ALL HAVE SINNED (including Abraham’s natural descendants)
and fallen short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23).
It is not based on SKIN TONE, BIOLOGICAL RACE
or ETHNICITY, but the fact that “…the wages
of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23 KJV). And only “…By GRACE are ye (Abraham’s descendants
and all nations) saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God[‘s merciful Love]...”(EPHESIANS 2:8-9 KJV).
“… ye [are]…saved through faith…it is the GIFT of God…”
(Ephesians 2:8 KJV). “…The GIFT of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ ….” (Romans 6:23 KJV).
God has demonstrated his love to Abraham’s
descendants and ALL nations through JESUS CHRIST. “…God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ DIED FOR US…” (Romans 5:8 KJV).
Abraham’s descendants and
all nations demonstrate their love for God through a response of TRUSTING LOVE. “….if ye LOVE me… [as you say], [you will] … keep (trust, have faith in) my commandments…”
(John 14:15 KJV).
By the time Jesus came: “…ALL HA[D]… SINNED (including Abraham’s natural descendants) and fallen short of the
glory of God…” (Romans 3:23).
The Israelites, which
included Abraham’s descendants, were saved first. Salvation was offered to them
first “…For I am not ashamed of the gospel,
because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to [the
Israelites, which included Abrahams descendants], then to the Gentile…”
(Romans 1:16 NIV).
Salvation was offered
first to the original CHOSEN ones such as the Jews, the Hebrews, the
Samaritans, the Israelites, or Abraham’s descendants. “…God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jews,
then to the Gentile…” (Romans 1:16 NIV).
“…Therefore many of the Jews who
had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him…”
(John 11:45NIV). “…for on account of him many of the Jews were going over to
Jesus and believing
in him….” (John 12:11 NIV).
“…When the congregation was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout converts
to Judaism followed
Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them
and urged them to continue in the grace of God…” (Acts 13:43 NIV). “…Some of the Jews who listened were persuaded and
joined Paul and Silas, along with many God-fearing Greek men and quite a few prominent women…”
(Acts 17:4 NLT). “…As a result, many Jews believed,
as did many of the prominent Greek women and men…” (Acts 17:12 NLT).
The Gentiles are
considered to be those who are not Jews, Samaritans, Hebrews, Israelites, or
Abraham’s natural descendants. “…God that
brings SALVATION TO EVERYONE who
believes: first
to the Jews, then to the GENTILE…” (Romans 1:16 NIV).
“…Understand, then, that those who HAVE FAITH ARE
children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify
the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to
Abraham: “All nations will be blessed
through you.” So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham,
the man of faith…”
(Galatians 3: 7-9 NIV).
“…Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob are their ancestors, and Christ himself was an Israelite as
far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, the one who rules over everything and is worthy of
eternal praise! Amen. Well then, has God failed to fulfill his
promise to Israel? No, for not all who
are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people! Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them
truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say, “Isaac is the son
through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other
children, too. This means that Abraham’s physical descendants are not necessarily children of God.
Only the children
of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children…”
(Romans 9:5-8 NLT).
Thank God for
the Jews who believed in Jesus Christ and were the first to become Christians. “…When he found him, he
brought him back to Antioch. Both of them stayed there with the church for a
full year, teaching large crowds of people. (It was at Antioch that the BELIEVERS were
first called Christians…” (Acts 11:26 NLT).
However, when a person
is without Jesus Christ, whether Abraham’s natural descendants or not, they are
NOT a part of the covenant promise of God. “…That at that time ye (Abraham’s descendants and all nations) were
without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of (Redeemed) Israel, and
strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the
world...” (Ephesians 2:12 KJV). “…In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded
from citizenship among the people of (Redeemed) Israel, and you did not know
the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God
and without hope…” (Ephesians 2:12 NLT).
Jesus was the
fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham. “….I
tell you that Christ
has become a servant of … [Abraham’s descendants]… on behalf of God’s truth, so that the
promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed…” (Romans
15:8 NIV).
At one time, the whole world had one
language and one speech. “…Now
the whole world
had one language and a common speech …” (Genesis 11:1-9 NIV).
The body of Christ has
one language (the WORD) and a common speech: the gospel of salvation. In
Christ, “…There is NEITHER nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS…”
(Galatians 3:26-28 KJV). “…YE ARE “ALL”
CHILDREN OF GOD BY FAITH “IN” CHRIST JESUS. … YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS…”
(Galatians 3:26-28 KJV).
“…But
ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an HOLY NATION (together as the body of Christ),
a peculiar people; that ye should SHEW FORTH the praises of him who hath called you out
of darkness into his marvellous light”
(1 Peter 2:9 KJV).
Christianity does NOT rest on the
foundations of SKIN TONE. BIOLOGICAL RACE, or ETHNICITY, but IMAGE
(God-likeness). “….Let us
make man in our IMAGE,
after our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26 KJV).
“…..God created man in his own IMAGE…..male
and female created he them…” (Genesis 1:27 KJV). “….God formed man of the dust of the ground (BODY), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (SPIRIT); and man
became a living soul (SOUL)…”
(Genesis 2:7 KJV). “….God saw every thing he had made……and, [said]
… it was VERY
GOOD…” (Genesis 1:31 KJV).
In order to become a
member of the CHOSEN RACE today your skin tone, biological race, or ethnicity has to be minimized and deprioritized. The CHOSEN RACE is “…SHEW[ing]… FORTH the praises of him who
hath called [them]…. out of darkness into his marvellous light…”
(1 Peter 2:9 KJV).
Jesus
said, "I and my Father are…ONE…"
(John 10:30 KJV). “The Son is the
radiance of GOD’S GLORY and the exact REPRESENTATION OF HIS BEING…”
(Hebrews 1:3 KJV). “…Jesus saith unto him …he that hath seen me hath SEEN THE FATHER…”
(John 14:9 KJV).
Jesus’ did NOT die or
give his life for one biological RACE or ETHNIC
GROUP, but for ALL people. “…Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that
God SHOWS NO
FAVORITISM. In every nation HE ACCEPTS those who fear him and do
what is right. This is the message of Good News for the
people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord
of all…” (Acts 10:34-36 NLT).
God’s CHOSEN are a
SPECIAL people and you will see his HOLY, SUPERIOR fruit in their lives. “…Ye shall know them by their fruits…” (Matthew
7:16 KJV).“…In this world …[they are] … are like Jesus…”
(1 John 4:17 NIV). “…The fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…” (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
“…[they]… are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A
PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that … [they] … may proclaim the excellencies
of Him who has called … [them] … out of darkness into His marvelous light …” (1 Peter 2:9 NASB).
