“…The fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance…” (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
“…Now … [indwelling]
…FAITH IS the substance
of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen…” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). Therefore,
God “…dealt to every man the measure of faith...” (Romans
12:3 KJV). One of “…the fruit of the Spirit is … faith …”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
Indwelling FAITH is evidence or proof of
things not YET seen. “…Now… [indwelling] …
FAITH IS …the evidence of
things not seen…” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
Indwelling FAITH is a FRUIT of the SPIRIT. “…the
fruit of the Spirit is … faith …”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…It is the SPIRIT who gives … [FAITH]…” (John 6:63 NASB). “…the
Holy Spirit gives birth to SPIRITUAL …[FAITH] …”
(John 3:6 NLT). “…The
Spirit of God dwell IN you…”
(Romans 8:9 KJV). “… Know
ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV). “…What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is IN you…?” (1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV). “…God hath said, I will dwell IN them… ” (2
Corinthians 6:16 KJV). “…the fruit of the
Spirit is … faith …”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
“…The Lord is that
Spirit [too]…” (2
Corinthians 3:17 KJV). “…Jesus Christ is IN
YOU…” (2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV). “…Christ be “IN”
YOU… (Romans 8:10 KJV). “…if Christ be IN you… (Romans
8:10 KJV). “…I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth
IN me…” (Galatians 2:20 KJV). “…until Christ be formed IN you…”
(Galatians 4:19 KJV). “ “…He that is joined
unto the LORD is ONE SPIRIT…[with
God and Jesus Christ]…” (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV). “…God has given [you] his
Spirit as PROOF that [you]… live (are ALIVE) in him and he [dwells]… in [you]…” (1 John 4:13 NLT).
“…the HEAD
of EVERY
man (believer) is Christ ...” (1
Corinthians 11:3 KJV). As the HEAD it is the indwelling Spirit that is
FULLY responsible for the FAITH in the covenant relationship. “…God shall supply ALL YOUR NEED according
to his riches in glory BY Christ Jesus…” (Philippians 4:19
KJV). “….The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. ….” (PSALM 23:1-3 NLT). “…God will generously
PROVIDE all … [the faith] … you
need…” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT).
Therefore, the indwelling Spirit provides the FAITH. God
“…dealt to every man the measure of faith...” (Romans 12:3 KJV). One of “…the fruit of the Spirit
is … faith …”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
However, activating
indwelling FAITH depends on the believer HEARING God’s WORD. “…Faith cometh
by HEARING… the word of God…” (Roman 10:17 KJV).
HEARING God’s word EMPOWERS indwelling faith.
“…According to the POWER that works WITHIN us…”
(Ephesians 3:20 NASB).
When indwelling FAITH is fueled, by
HEARING the WORD, it INSPIRES and ENABLES the believer’s hope. “…Now … [indwelling] …FAITH IS the substance (certainty, guarantee,
promise, pledge, etc) of things hoped for…” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
HOW is indwelling FAITH the certainty
of things hoped for or expected. FAITH
originates from the Spirit. “…The fruit of the Spirit is …FAITH…” (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…FAITH IS …the
evidence of things not seen…”
(Hebrews 11:1 KJV). “…the invisible
[Spirit]…from the creation of the world …clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made … …”
(Romans 1:20 KJV). “…What we have RECEIVED is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
…” (2 Corinthians 2:12-15 KJV).
The “…things HOPED for...” spring forth from
indwelling FAITH, which is “…the
evidence of things NOT
seen…” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).“… BY
FAITH … [you] … understand…that what … [you] … now see did not come from anything that
can be seen…” (Hebrews 11 NLT).
Therefore,
“…Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV)
Without God’s WORD, indwelling faith is
not activated. . “…Faith cometh by HEARING… the word of God…”
(Roman 10:17 KJV).
Why isn’t FAITH activated UNTIL it hears
the WORD? SPIRITUAL, indwelling FAITH RESPONDS to WHAT JESUS, the WORD speaks
and GOD commands.
The bible SAYS“…THERE ARE
THREE that bear record in
heaven, the
Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE “…THERE IS NO GOD, BUT ONE…” (1
Corinthians 8:4 KJV).
For example: “…Then God
SAID, “Let there be light”; AND THERE WAS LIGHT…” (Genesis 1:3 NASB). “…Then God SAID (God commanded), “Let there be light” (Jesus, the Word, spoke his
command); AND THERE WAS LIGHT (The Holy
Spirit did what was spoken and commanded)…” (Genesis 1:3 NASB).
The Holy Ghost (Spirit) DOES what Jesus, the Living Word SPEAKS
and God COMMANDS
God
commands. Jesus speaks. The invisible, unseen Holy Spirit does the work. Let me
say it with YOU in it; God commands; Jesus SPEAKS what the HOLY INDWELLING
SPIRIT “DOES” what Jesus SPEAKS and God commands.
God
is the FATHER. Jesus is the WORD of the father. The Holy Spirit is
the invisible, unseen POWER of the
father. “…THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV).
The FATHER’s (God) WORD (Jesus) is POWER
(Holy Spirit) and they are ONE. “…THERE ARE THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father (GOD), the Word (JESUS), and the Holy Ghost
(POWER): and THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 JOHN 5:6-8 KJV).
“…the fruit of the Spirit is … faith …”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). FAITH is "of" THE SPIRIT. "OF" MEANS PART OF THE WHOLE. “…Faith cometh
by HEARING… the word of God…” (Roman 10:17 KJV). “…Now … [indwelling] …FAITH IS the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…”
(Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
“…you will abound in HOPE by the power of the
Holy Spirit…” (Romans 15:13 NASB). “…I pray
that God, the source of HOPE, will
fill you completely.... Then you will overflow with confident HOPE through the power
of the Holy Spirit…” (Romans 15:13 NLT).
The
HOLY SPIRIT “DOES” what Jesus SPEAKS and God COMMANDS. “…Faith cometh
by HEARING… the word of God…” (Roman 10:17 KJV). “ … MY WORD be that goeth forth out of
my mouth: it
SHALL NOT return unto me void, but it SHALL ACCOMPLISH (through the POWER of
the Holy Spirit) that which I please, and it SHALL PROSPER (through the POWER of the Holy Spirit) in the thing
whereto I sent it…” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV). God
says, I “…am WATCHING over my word to PERFORM it (through
the POWER of the Holy Spirit)…” (Jeremiah 1:12 NASB).
THE FATHER’S WORD IS POWER.
FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD. IN EzekieL 37 WE READ THIS: GOD COMMANDED.
JESUS SPOKE AND THE HOLY SPIRIT DID. “…Prophesy
(SPEAK), [Ezekiel]… and say to them: ‘This is what the
Sovereign Lord says: My people …I will PUT my SPIRIT in you and you will LIVE …Then you will know that I the Lord have
spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord...’”
(Ezekiel 37 NIV).
“…As [Ezekiel]… was
prophesying (SPEAKING GOD’S POWERFUL WORD), there was a noise, a rattling
sound, and THE BONES CAME TOGETHER, BONE TO BONE. [Ezekiel]… LOOKED, and tendons
and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in
them. …[then]… BREATH
ENTERED THEM; they came to LIFE and STOOD UP on their feet—a vast army... I HAVE DONE IT, declares the Lord…’” (Ezekiel
37 NIV).
The
POWER of GOD’s WORD and his DIVINE nature is CLEARLY SEEN.
“…Since the creation of the world God’s INVISIBLE QUALITIES—HIS ETERNAL POWER
AND DIVINE NATURE—have been CLEARLY
SEEN, being UNDERSTOOD
FROM WHAT HAS BEEN MADE, so that people are without excuse…”
(Romans 1:20 NIV).
“… BY FAITH we understand that THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE WAS FORMED at God’s command, that what we now SEE did not come from anything that can be SEEN…”
(Hebrews 11:3 NLT). “…BY THE WORD of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His
mouth all their host…” (Psalms 33:6 NASB).
“…The fruit of [God’s]… Spirit … is …FAITH….” (Galatians 5:22-23).
THE SPIRIT OF
INDWELLING FAITH RESPONDS to GOD’s WORD.). “…But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
EVERY WORD that comes from the mouth of God…’” (Matthew 4:4 NASB).“…Jesus
(the LIVING Word) said… I am the LIFE…..” (John 11:25 KJV). “…THE
WORDS THAT I SPEAK unto you, they ARE SPIRIT,
and they ARE
LIFE…” (John 6:63 KJV). God “…dealt to every man (believer) THE MEASURE OF FAITH...” (Romans
12:3 KJV).
God has FAITH in the POWER of his OWN word.
“…Then God SAID, “Let there be light”; AND THERE WAS LIGHT…”
(Genesis 1:3 NASB). “…Then God SAID
(God commanded with faith in his OWN word), “Let there
be light” (Jesus, the Word spoke his command); AND
THERE WAS LIGHT (The Holy Spirit did what was spoken and commanded)…”
(Genesis 1:3 NASB).
God has absolute faith in his OWN WORD. “…So shall MY WORD be
that goeth forth out of my mouth: it SHALL NOT return unto me void, but it SHALL ACCOMPLISH
that which I please, and it SHALL
PROSPER in the thing whereto I sent it…” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV). God says, I “…am WATCHING over my
word to PERFORM it…” (Jeremiah 1:12 NASB).
The FATHER’s WORD is POWER. He gives you a measure of his OWN faith. God “…dealt
to every man (believer) the measure of
faith...” (Romans 12:3 KJV). ). “…God… works in you to will and to act in order
to fulfill his good purpose…” (Philippians 2:13 NIV). “….apart from Me (Jesus,
God’s WORD), you can do nothing…”
(John 15:5 NIV).
The FATHER’s WORD is POWER. IT
IS THE FATHER’S WORD THAT “… is
able TO DO exceeding
abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20 KJV). “…the
things which are impossible with men are POSSIBLE with God…” (Luke 18:27 KJV). “…I am
the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”
(Jeremiah 32:27 KJV).
WHY BECAUSE HIS WORDS IS TRUSTWORTHY. “…THY
WORD IS TRUTH…” (JOHN 17:17 KJV). “….The decrees of the Lord
are TRUSTWORTHY, making wise the simple…” (PSALM 19:7 NLT). “…All
your commands are TRUSTWORTHY…” (PSALM 119:86 NLT). “…your laws are perfect and completely TRUSTWORTHY….
“ (PSALMS 119:138 NLT). “…This hope is a
strong and TRUSTWORTHY anchor for our souls…” (HEBREWS 6:19 NLT). “Everything you have heard and seen is TRUSTWORTHY
and true…” (REVELATION 22:6 NLT).
HIS WORD WON’T DISAPPOINT. “…and HOPE
DOES NOT DISAPPOINT… (ROMANS 5:5 NASB). “…For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER
BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE
DISAPPOINTED…" (ROMANS 10:11 NASB). “… HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL
NOT BE DISAPPOINTED… (ROMANS 9:33 NASB). “…In You they trusted and WERE NOT
DISAPPOINTED…. (PSALMS 22:5 NASB).
“…Trust in the Lord
with all thine heart…” (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV). “…The LORD
“WILL” accomplish (take care of)…that which concerns [you]…”
(John 14:31 NASB). “...Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 KJV).
God
is trustworthy. “….IS THERE
ANY ROCK (TRUSTWORTHY) LIKE OUR GOD…..” (1 SAMUEL 2:2 KJV). “…All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are TRUSTWORTHY….”
(PSALMS 111:7 NLT).
A
WOMAN OF FAITH;
DEMONSTRATING
LEADERSHIP
God
told Abraham he would have a son at 90+ years old and from that son he would
make him a GREAT nation. “…Abraham believed
God…” (James 2:18-24
NIV).
“And when Abram was ninety years
old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said
unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and
thee…” (Genesis
17 KJV). “…And
I will make of
thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing. …And in thee SHALL ALL FAMILIES of the earth be
blessed…”
(Genesis 12:2-3 KJV).
God told him to sacrifice his only son on
the altar. You may wonder, like I did, if Abraham sacrifices his son on the
altar, how will he become a GREAT nation. After all, he is already past 99
years old. Well, “…Abraham believed
God…” (James 2:18-24
NIV)..
“…It was BY FAITH that ABRAHAM OFFERED UP ISAAC as a
sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises,
was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, even though God had told
him, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.”
Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back
to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead…”
(Hebrews 11 NLT)
“…Abraham believed
God…”
(James 2:18-24 NIV). “…Even
when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping--believing that he would
become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, "That's how
many descendants you will have!" (Romans 4:18 NLT).
To this day, everyone who has faith in
God, like Abraham did, is considered Abraham’s seed. “…Understand, then, that those who HAVE FAITH ARE children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and
announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who RELY
ON FAITH are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith…”
(Galatians 3: 7-9 NIV).
Abraham had unwavering faith in God. “…Abraham believed God…” (James 2:18-24 NIV). “…Even when
there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing..." (Romans
4:18 NLT).
Abraham knew that even if he had to sacrifice
his only son that God would STILL be able to make him a GREAT nation. “…Abraham reasoned that if Isaac
died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did
receive his son back from the dead…” (Hebrews 11 NLT). “….I am the Lord,
the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah
32:27 KJV).
The object or focus of Abraham’s faith was
the trustworthy, holy, reliable living God. “…It
was BY FAITH that ABRAHAM OFFERED UP
ISAAC … Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was ABLE
to bring him back to life again.…” (Hebrews 11 NLT). “… Is there any thing too hard for [God]?”
(Jeremiah 32:27 KJV).
“…God
hath dealt (GIVEN)… to every man THE measure of FAITH…”
(Romans 12:3 NIV). “…But
the fruit of the Spirit… is…FAITH…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). Hebrews 11 demonstrates how God-given
faith empowers actions:
BY
FAITH we understand …
BY
FAITH …Abel brought …
BY
FAITH …Enoch was taken up…
BY
FAITH …Noah BUILT
…
BY
HIS FAITH Noah CONDEMNED. …
BY
FAITH …Abraham obeyed …
he lived
there BY FAITH—
BY
FAITH …SARAH WAS ABLE TO
HAVE A CHILD…
BY
FAITH …THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL
WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE
RED SEA
BY
FAITH …the people of Israel MARCHED
AROUND JERICHO
FOR SEVEN
DAYS…
BY
FAITH these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled
with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the
mouths of lions, quenched the
flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness
was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put
whole armies to flight. Women received
their loved ones back again from death….” (Hebrews 11:1-35 NLT).
“…IT
SHALL BE DONE TO YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH…” (MATTHEW 9:29 NASB).
