THE RESULTS OF FAITH
“…For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast
into the sea; and
shall not doubt in his heart, but SHALL BELIEVE that those things
which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith…”
…”
(MARK
11:23 KJV).
*
The perception of faith is important. The bible says to “…walk by faith…” or “…live by
faith…” FAITH is GIVEN to the believer through the indwelling Holy Spirit
(Romans 12:3).
The apostle informs Christians that “…God hath dealt (GIVEN,
distributed, allotted, etc;)… to every man THE measure of FAITH…” (Romans 12:3 KJV). Therefore, “…walk by faith...” (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV).
“…live by faith, not by sight….” (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV).
Indwelling faith originates
from the Spirit. “…The fruit of the Spirit
is …FAITH…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…FAITH IS …the
evidence of things not seen…”
(Hebrews 11:1 KJV). “…the invisible
[Spirit]…from the creation of the world …clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made … …”
(Romans 1:20 KJV). “…What we have RECEIVED is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
…” (2 Corinthians 2:12-15 KJV).
“… BY
FAITH we understand…that
what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen…” (Hebrews
11 NLT).
“…The Lord is [also]…that Spirit…” (2 Corinthians
3:17 KJV). “…THERE ARE THREE that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE.…”
(1 John 5:6-8 KJV). “….THE LORD IS OUR
GOD, THE LORD IS
ONE…” (Deuteronomy 6:4 KJV). “…THERE
IS NO GOD, BUT
ONE…” (1 Corinthians 8:4 KJV).
The
Word came to dwell among mankind. “…the
Word (Jesus) was made flesh, and dwelt among us...” (JOHN 1:14).
The Word (Jesus) was
sent to be an atoning sacrifice for sins. “He
(Jesus, the word) is the atoning sacrifice for our sins…” (1
John 2:2 NIV). “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but
that he loved us and SENT His Son to be the propitiation (substitute,
intervention) for our sins.” (1
John 4:10 KJV).
The Word (Jesus) was
sent to bring us to God. Christ …. died for sins ONCE for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might BRING US TO GOD,
having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;” (1
Peter 3:18 NASB).
The Word (Jesus) was
sent to bring salvation to everyone who believes. “….the gospel of Christ (the WORD) …. is THE POWER of God unto SALVATION TO EVERY
ONE THAT BELIEVETH (accepts, receives)…”
(Romans 1:16 KJV).
How can you believe
without indwelling faith? Indwelling faith comes from HEARING the Word. “…HOW SHALL THEY BELIEVE in him of
whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14 KJV). “…Faith cometh by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God” (Roman 10:17 KJV).
The apostle said, “…MY
PREACHING were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in
demonstration OF THE SPIRIT AND OF POWER, so that YOUR FAITH would not rest on the
wisdom of men, but ON THE POWER OF GOD…” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5 NASB).
"It is written in the prophets, 'AND
THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.' Every one that hath HEARD and hath LEARNED of the
Father, cometh to me…” (John 6:45 KJV).
Everyone “who HEARS” and “learns” about God, will come to him (John 6:45). “…NO
ONE CAN COME to Me UNLESS the Father who
sent Me draws him…” (John 6:44 KJV). “…NO
MAN CAN COME unto me, EXCEPT it were
GIVEN unto him of my Father…” (John 6:65 KJV). “…John answered and said, A MAN CAN RECEIVE NOTHING, EXCEPT it be GIVEN him from heaven…” (John 3:27
KJV).
Before a person can be empowered to have indwelling faith they must HEAR the Word, LEARN from the Word and COME to Jesus. “…Every one that hath HEARD and hath LEARNED of the Father, cometh to me…” (John
6:45 KJV). “…NO ONE CAN COME to me UNLESS the Father has
ENABLED THEM…” (John 6:65 NIV).
Once they COME to Jesus, they must
willfully choose to RECEIVE the WORD, which is Jesus. “…RECEIVE with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to SAVE your souls…” (James
1:21 KJV). THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK unto you, they ARE SPIRIT, and they ARE LIFE…” (John 6:63 KJV). “….the gospel of Christ (the WORD) …. is THE POWER of God unto SALVATION TO EVERY
ONE THAT BELIEVETH (accepts, receives)…” (Romans 1:16 KJV). “…So the promise is RECEIVED by faith…” (Romans 4:16 NLT).
“… A
man can RECEIVE nothing, except it be GIVEN HIM FROM HEAVEN…” (John 3:27
KJV).
A person HEARS, LEARNS, COMES, and
RECEIVES the gift of SALVATION. “…BY GRACE have ye been saved THROUGH… FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God; NOT OF
WORKS, that
no man should glory…” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV). “… The grace of our Lord was
poured out on me abundantly, ALONG WITH FAITH and love that are in Christ Jesus…” (1 Timothy 1:13-14 NIV).
What is a person RECEIVING or taking into
their possession?
“…God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son (The WORD) “INTO”
OUR HEARTS…” (Galatians 4:6 NASB). “…The sower SOWETH THE WORD …The seed is the WORD OF GOD ... THE WORD …was sown in THEIR HEARTS…”
(Mark 4:14-15 & Luke 8:11 KJV). “…RECEIVE with meekness the engrafted WORD (Jesus), which is able
to SAVE your souls…” (James 1:21 KJV). “…thy
WORD is truth” (JOHN 17:17 KJV). “Jesus saith…I am the way, the TRUTH,
and the life…” (John 14:6 KJV). “…ye shall know the
TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you free…” (John 8:32 KJV). “… A man can RECEIVE nothing, except it be GIVEN HIM FROM HEAVEN…” (John
3:27 KJV). “…
[Those that]…HEAR the word, and RECEIVE it, and bring
forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred…”
(Mark 4:20 KJV).
“…The fruit of the Spirit is ...
faith…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). The gift of salvation,
along with indwelling faith, when received, assimilates, or is poured out, or is
transferred onto the repentant sinner enabling
them to be SAVED. “… The
GRACE of our Lord was poured out (transferred) on me abundantly, ALONG WITH FAITH
and love that
are in Christ Jesus…” (1
Timothy 1:13-14 NIV). “…BY GRACE have ye been saved THROUGH… FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God; NOT OF
WORKS, that
no man should glory…” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).
The gift of salvation comes “by GRACE.”
Grace is the incomparable riches of God’s holy and loving favor, kindness, and
blessings on the underserving. “…BY GRACE have ye been saved…”
(Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).
The gift of salvation comes “THROUGH
FAITH.” “…God hath dealt
(GIVEN, distributed, allotted)… to every man THE measure of FAITH…” (Romans
12:3 KJV). “….measuring yourselves by the faith God
has given us…” (Romans 12:3 NLT). “…In
accordance with the
faith God has distributed to each of you…” (Romans 12:3 NIV).
“…BY GRACE have ye been saved THROUGH FAITH …”
(Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).
You CAN NOT be SAVED without God’s grace
or God’s indwelling faith “…NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God; NOT OF
WORKS, that no man should glory…”
(Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).
The Word (Jesus) EMPOWERS
salvation. “…RECEIVE …the engrafted WORD (Jesus), which
is able to SAVE your souls…” (James 1:21 KJV). “….Apart from Me, you
can do NOTHING…” (John 15:5 NIV). “…[You].. can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth [you]….” (Philippians 4:13 KJV). “…It is God who works IN YOU… to
will and to act
in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13 NIV). “…the Holy Spirit GIVES birth to SPIRITUAL LIFE…”
(John 3:6 NLT). “…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, FAITH, Meekness, temperance…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
The WORD (Jesus) and
the HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS you to be SAVED. “….Apart from Me, you can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV). Indwelling faith comes from
hearing the gospel and the gospel is “…the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone
that believeth (accepts or receives)…” (Romans 1:16 KJV). “… [The] Good News about Christ. It is the power of
God at work, saving everyone who believes (accepts or receives)…”
(Romans 1:16 NLT).
The eunuch from
Ethiopia HEARD the WORD first and then was asked did he believe. “…Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at
the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on
their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is
water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all
thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ
is the Son of God…”
(Acts 8:35-37 KJV).
“…This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus
Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that
does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God…” (1
John 4:2-4 KJV).
After RECEIVING the
WORD you may ask a person “Do you want to be saved? Then you tell them to do
this: “…confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
… believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…”
(ROMANS 10:9 KJV). “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house…” (ACTS
16:31 KJV). “…Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou
mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God…”
(ACTS 8:37 KJV). “…REPENT YE, AND
BELIEVE the gospel…” (Mark 1:15 KJV).
Salvation is a FREE gift from God. Whenever
God gives you a gift and you receive it; it’s yours. For instance, God has
given you: “…The GIFT by grace……” (Romans 5:15 KJV). ”… ye [are]…saved through faith…it is the GIFT
of God…” (Ephesians 2:8 KJV). “…The GIFT of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ ….” (Romans 6:23 KJV).
“….ye shall receive the GIFT of the Holy Ghost…” (Acts 2:38 KJV).
“…the GIFT of righteousness…” (Romans 5:17 KJV). “…I am leaving you with
a GIFT—peace of mind and heart...” (John 14:27 KJV). “…God has given us
different GIFTS for doing certain things well…” (Romans 12:6 NLT). “…every
man hath his proper GIFT of God...” (2 Corinthians 7:7 KJV). “…Thanks be
unto God for his unspeakable GIFT[S]…” (2 Corinthians 9:16 KJV). “…His “divine” POWER hath GIVEN unto [you]… ALL
THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness…” (2 Peter 1:3
KJV).
God GAVE you the “gift of salvation. “…BY GRACE have ye been saved through FAITH…it is the GIFT of God…” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV). You
can say “I am saved” or you can say “My salvation.” It belongs to you.
When something belongs to you; you have
all the rights to it. If you say “my car” you have all the rights to that car.
If you say “my house” you have all the rights to that house.
“…God
hath dealt (GIVEN)… to every man THE measure of FAITH…”
(Romans 12:3 NIV). If you RECEIVE it; it is yours. If you say “my faith” you have all the rights to
that “measure of faith.” That
divine, gifted indwekkubg measure of faith BELONGS to you.
However, when it comes
to saying “MY faith,” remember it was
a gift and does not originate from you, but from God. “…Jesus the AUTHOR (originator) and FINISHER
(sustainer) OF [Y]OUR [indwelling]…FAITH…”
(Hebrews 12:2a KJV). “…HE WHICH HATH
“BEGUN” A GOOD “WORK” IN YOU WILL “PERFORM” IT until the day of Jesus Christ…”
(Philippians 1:6 KJV).
God gave instructions
on how to use this gift of indwellingfaith. “…FAITH cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”
(Roman 10:17 KJV).
Before
you received the gift of indwelling faith all you had was “fallen” faith.
“…All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23). “….I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me….” (Psalms 51:5 NLT).
The sin nature has been
passed on from generation to generation since Adam. “….I am carnal (flesh) … [and it is]… sin that dwelleth in me. … I know that in me (that
is, in my flesh,)
dwelleth no good thing….” (Romans 7:14-23 KJV).
Without Christ, the sinful
nature could NEVER and would NEVER be saved from condemnation. “…the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23 KJV). “…YE SHALL DIE IN YOUR SINS: for IF YE BELIEVE NOT THAT I AM HE…”
(John 8:24 KJV).
The gift of salvation,
Jesus, was the only hope from the consequences and effect of sin. “…without
shedding of blood is no remission…” (Hebrews 9:22 KJV). “…Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of
the world” (John 1:29 KJV). “…He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins…” (1
John 2:2 NIV).
You don’t instantly
forget the experiences or memories of the old sin nature, but NOW you have the
indwelling Holy Spirit. “…These two forces are constantly fighting
each other, so you are not free
to carry out your good intentions….” (Galatians 5 NLT).
Your new nature and the old nature battle each other for influence or control. “…These two forces are constantly fighting each other….” (Galatians 5 NLT).
This is where and why faith becomes a
struggle for most believers. Like the Centurion they say, “…I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24 NIV). “…A double
minded man is unstable in all his (her) ways…” (James 1:8 KJV).
“…So I say, let the [indwelling] Holy Spirit
guide your lives. Then you won’t
be doing what your
sinful nature craves.
The
sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit
wants. And the Spirit
gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires.
These TWO FORCES are constantly fighting
each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. …When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the RESULTS are very
clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling,
jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
envy, drunkenness, wild
parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you
again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit
the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
and self-control. There is no law against
these things! Those who belong to Christ
Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of
their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there…”
(Galatians 5 NLT).
“…If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men
liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in
faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the
sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive
any thing of the Lord…” (James 1:4-7 KJV). “…I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24 NIV). “…A double
minded man is unstable in all his ways…” (James 1:8 KJV).
There are gray areas of
doubts and there are extreme areas of doubt, which is disbelief. Extreme areas
of doubt are usually impacted by double-mindedness.
A double-minded person
will face uncertainty. One moment they seemed to be empowered by indwelling “gifted”
faith moving with God and the next moment they are motivated by “fallen” human faith moving away from God. “…A double minded man
is unstable in all his ways…” (James 1:8 KJV). “…The Lord detests DOUBLE standards of every kind…”
(Proverbs 20:10, 23 NLT). “...NO MAN
CAN SERVE TWO masters: …Ye cannot serve God
and mammon…” (Matthew 6:24 KJV). “…Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye DOUBLE minded…” (James 4:8 KJV). “…with flattering lips and with a DOUBLE heart do they speak…”
(Psalms 12:2 KJV).
A person with a double mind, or double
heart, or double faith is unstable. “…A double
minded man is unstable in all his ways…” (James 1:8 KJV). “…His DIVINE POWER hath GIVEN unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness…”
(2 Peter 1:3 KJV).
Though God has given
him or her everything that is needed for an abundant life, that person wavers
between two opinions. “…And
Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD
be God, follow him: but if
Baal, then follow him. And the
people answered him not a word…” (1 Kings 18:21 KJV).
“…Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Roman 10:17 KJV). “…And without faith it is impossible to please
God, because ANYONE
WHO COMES TO HIM MUST BELIEVE THAT HE EXISTS…” (Hebrews 11:6
NIV).
Wavering between indwelling
“gifted” faith and “fallen” human faith is a sign that a person has NOT HEARD
enough of God’s powerful Word. “Keep this Book of the Law always on your
lips; meditate
on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8 NIV). “…My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea
4:6 NIV).
“…Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Roman 10:17 KJV). “…THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK unto you, they ARE SPIRIT,
and they ARE LIFE…” (John 6:63 KJV).
Wavering between depending on indwelling “gifted”
faith and “fallen” human faith a person will consistently FAIL to see the
results the promises of God bring. “…Let
not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord…”
(James 1:4-7 KJV).
Indwelling “gifted” faith will NEVER fail. “…FAITH IS the substance (guarantee) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
God offers you the gift
of salvation, along with faith, but you DO NOT have to receive it. “…RECEIVE …the engrafted WORD (Jesus), which is able to SAVE your souls…”
(James 1:21 KJV). “…Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and OPEN THE DOOR, I
will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me…”
(Revelation 3:20 KJV). “…And
ye will not come to me that you might have life...” (John 5:40 KJV).
“YOU will not come to Me (Jesus)…” means you
will not receive or accept God’s gift of salvation.
Or you may receive God’s
gift of salvation and have indwelling faith, but do not have to utilize it. However, “…without faith it is impossible to please God
…” (Hebrews 11:6 NIV). “…Let not that man
think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord…” (James 1:4-7
KJV).
Therefore, “…God hath dealt (GIVEN)… to every man THE measure of
FAITH…” (Romans 12:3 NIV). AND “…FAITH… COMETH by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…”
(Roman 10:17 KJV). “…FAITH…
COMETH by hearing [the
GOSPEL]…” (Roman 10:17 KJV). “… [One
of]… the fruit of the Spirit… is…FAITH…”
(Galatians 5:22-23 KJV). “…the Holy Spirit
gives birth to SPIRITUAL LIFE…”
(John 3:6 NLT).
All people have "KIND" of faith, but
without indwelling Spirit of God it is “fallen” human faith
and it’s spiritually useless. “…And
though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all
knowledge; and though I HAVE ALL FAITH so that I could remove mountains,
and have not charity, I AM NOTHING…”
(1 Corinthians 13:2 KJV). Charity is love. “…God is love…” (1
John 4:4-8 KJV).
“Fallen”
human faith is not the same as the indwelling faith that comes along with salvation. “…Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess
unto them, I never knew you: depart from
me, ye that work iniquity…”
(Matthew 7:22-23 KJV).
“Fallen” human faith reduces
all a person’s deeds to nothing and reveal they are motivated by the sin nature. “…And though I bestow all my
goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not
charity, it
profiteth me NOTHING...” (1
Corinthians 13:3 KJV).
“…You
see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith ALONE…”
(James 2:18-24 NIV). “….Ye see then how that by works
a man is justified, and not by faith ONLY…”
(James 2:24 KJV). “…So you see, we are shown to be right with
God by what we do, not by faith ALONE…”
(James 2:24 NLT).
“…The devils ALSO believe, and tremble…” (James 2:19 KJV). Faith
ALONE is “fallen” human faith and
does NOT nor can NOT empower or motivate righteousness actions or spiritual fruit. “… [One of]… the fruit of the Spirit… is…FAITH…” (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
ONLY the indwelling
Holy Spirit produces a spiritual life of of faith. “…the Holy Spirit gives birth to SPIRITUAL LIFE…”
(John 3:6 NLT).
“… [You can have]… ALL FAITH so that
[you]… could remove mountains, [but]…
have not charity, [and be]… NOTHING…” (1
Corinthians 13:2 KJV).
“Fallen” human faith is
limited to this world and may procure worldly goods, worldly successes, worldly
prosperity, and worldly gain. “…What shall it profit
a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
(Mark 8:36 KJV).
Can “fallen” human faith
save you? NO “…BY GRACE have ye been saved THROUGH… FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God; NOT OF
WORKS, that
no man should glory…” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ASV).
“Fallen” human faith can make you boast
about your accomplishments, but it WON’T save you. “This
is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast
in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the
rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast
should boast in this alone: that they
truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth,
and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord,
have spoken!” (Jeremiah 9:23-24 NLT). “….apart from Me, you can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV).
Many believers boast of
the many accomplishments they have done by faith, but reject the faith that
comes along with the “gift of salvation.”
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day,
Lord, Lord, have
we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works? And
then will I profess unto them, I never
knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Mark 7:21-23 KJV).
Indwelling faith works FOR
you and for the GLORY of God. Let’s go back to Noah again. How did his faith
work FOR him?
Faith worked “FOR” Noah:
Noah built A BOAT and it SAVED him and his entire family. “…the invisible [Spirit]…from the creation of the world …clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made…” (Romans 1:20 KJV). Noah MADE a boat (ARK).
“…The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family …And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him. … On that very day Noah
and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of
his three sons, entered the ark.
…Then the Lord shut him in…
(Genesis 7 NIV). “…Only Noah was left, and those with him in the
ark. The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days…”
(Genesis 7:17-24 NIV).
When faith works “FOR”
you people can witness the results. The results will be “…clearly seen…” (Romans 1:20 KJV).
Noah built a boat to save his family from a flood. People SAW the boat and SAW
Noah get into the boat with his family. “…I
will show you MY
FAITH by my deeds...” (JAMES 2:18 NIV).
“…It
was BY FAITH that Noah BUILT A LARGE BOAT
to save his
family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things
that had never happened before….” (Hebrews
11 NLT).
Noah had never heard of
a flood, but he was empowered by indwelling faith and enabled to heed God’s
warning. “…He obeyed God….” (Hebrews 11
NLT).
Indwelling faith worked
“FOR” Noah. By indwelling faith Noah saved his whole family and everyone around
could witnessed it. You are witnessing how Noah’s family was saved through this
story. “…It was BY FAITH that Noah BUILT a boat (ark) ….” (Hebrews 11 NLT). “…Only Noah was left,
and those with him in the ark. The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and
fifty days…” (Genesis 7:17-24 NIV).
“…For whatsoever things were
written aforetime were written for our learning…” (Romans 15:4 KJV). “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples:
and they are written for our admonition…”
(1 Corinthians 10:11 KJV).
Noah started building
the boat (ARK) 120 years BEFORE flood ever came. “…So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an
end to all people …So make yourself an
ark (boat) of cypress wood; …. I am GOING TO bring floodwaters on the earth
to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of
life in it. Everything on earth will perish. …Noah did everything
just as God commanded him. (Genesis
6:9-22 NIV).
“…God, who warned
him about things that had never happened before….” (Hebrews
11 NLT). Noah was empowered to believe God, even though he had never seen a
flood. He knew it was coming because God had warned him.
Saving his family from
the flood was based on HEARING the promise of God’s word alone indwelling faith was
working FOR Noah.
God works IN, THROUGH,
and FOR you the same way he did Noah! If you BELIEVE God is
working IN, THROUGH, and FOR you; that’s the inner working of faith, which
is empowered by the indwelling, invisible, powerful Holy Spirit. “…FAITH IS …THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS UNSEEN…” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). “…the invisible
[Spirit]…from the creation of the world …CLEARLY SEEN, being understood by the things that are MADE…” (Romans
1:20 KJV). “…I will show you MY FAITH
by my [God inspired]…deeds...” (JAMES 2:18 NIV).
