I DARE YOU TO TASTE THIS?
“… For it
is impossible to bring back to repentance
those who
were once enlightened—those
who have
experienced the good things of heaven and shared
in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the
power of the age to come— and who
then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people
back to repentance;
by rejecting the
Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross
once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
*
“… He (Jesus) had a
name written, that no man knew … his name is called The Word of God…”
(Revelation 19:12-13 NASB). The fallen “HAVE” tasted the goodness of the Word of God. “... O TASTE and “see” that [Word of GOD]... is GOOD...” (Psalms 34:8 KJV).
People ACQUIRE a taste
for the WORD of God through experience. An acquired taste refers to an
appreciation for the WORD of God that has developed over time and is now enjoyed
by someone who has had substantial exposure to it. “... O TASTE
and “see” that [Word of GOD]... is GOOD: BLESSED
(happy, nourished) is the man (woman) that trusteth in him (depend upon him)...”
(Psalms 34:8 KJV).
The WORD of God is a GIFT from God that
came down from heaven. “…The GIFT
of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ (the WORD)….” (Romans 6:23
KJV). “…Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable GIFT(S)…” (2
Corinthians 9:16 KJV). “... he (JESUS) ... came down from heaven...” (John 3:13 KJV). “... [The WORD of GOD] ... came down from heaven?” (John 6:42 KJV).
“...
Every good GIFT and every perfect GIFT is
from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…”
(James 1:17 KJV). “…A man can receive nothing, except it BE
GIVEN him from heaven…”
(John 3:27 KJV). “… “…The LORD SHALL
GIVE that which is good…”
(Psalms 85:12 KJV). “…What do you have that God hasn’t given you? (1
Corinthians 4:7 NLT).
“…those
[who have been given
GIFTS from heaven,] ...have [also]... experienced the
good things of heaven …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT). “... [The WORD of GOD]... came down from heaven?” (John 6:42 KJV).
Jesus “IS” the WORD of God. The Word of God CAME DOWN’ to do God’s will. What did
the “Word of God” do? The Holy
Spirit empowered and anointed the
Word of God to do good and heal the oppressed. “…God
anointed (empowered) Jesus of Nazareth (HOW?) with
the Holy Ghost and WITH POWER: (WHAT DID JESUS, THE WORD OF GOD, DO?) [HE] ... went about doing good, and healing
all that were oppressed of the devil; [HOW WAS HE ABLE TO DO THOSE THINGS?]... GOD WAS WITH HIM…”
(Acts 10:38-39 KJV).
(WHAT ELSE WAS JESUS, THE WORD,
ANOINTED TO DO?) “…[HE WAS] ... anointed (empowered) to preach
the gospel to the poor; ... to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to
the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that
are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord…”
(John 4:16-21 KJV).
Jesus, the WORD, had an earthen vessel,
just like YOU, so who “actually” DID the WORKS through HIM? The Holy Spirit, within Jesus, actually
DID the WORKS. “…[Jesus said]…the Father
that dwelleth in me, he
doeth the works…”
(John 14:10 KJV). “…God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know. …”
(ACTS 2:22 KJV).
Tasting the WORD of God is to experience
its GLORY or the GOODNESS of God’s PRESENCE. HOW? “…The Son
(the WORD) is the RADIANCE of God’s glory (the radiance of the presence of his goodness) and the EXACT representation of his being (Holy nature)…” (Hebrews 1:3 KJV). “…Jesus saith unto him, Have I (the WORD of GOD) been so long
time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath SEEN ME (Jesus, the WORD of GOD)
HATH SEEN the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?”
(John 14:9 KJV). “… I (the WORD)
and my Father are ONE…” (John 10:30 KJV). “…THERE ARE
THREE that bear record in
heaven, the Father,
the Word, and the Holy [Spirit]: and THESE THREE ARE ONE.…” (1 John
5:6-8 KJV).
“….the
WORD was made flesh….”
(John 1:14 KJV). Jesus was the WORD of GOD in an earthen vessel.
JESUS is The WORD of GOD. “… He (Jesus) had a name written, that no man
knew … his name is called The
Word of God…” (Revelation 19:12-13 NASB).
The WORD of God is SPIRIT. “…THE WORDS ...
they ARE SPIRIT …” (John 6:63
KJV).
God is Spirit. “…GOD IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV).
Jesus (the word) is SPIRIT too. “…The Lord is that Spirit…” (2
Corinthians 3:17 KJV).
God is Spirit and Jesus, the Word, is Spirit. “… I and my Father are ONE…”
(John 10:30 KJV).
The words, not the human vessel, are SPIRIT. The Word of God is “NOT” human. . “…THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK unto you, they
ARE SPIRIT …” (John 6:63 KJV). “…God is not human “…God is Spirit …Does
he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill…”
(Numbers 23:19 NIV & John 4:24 KJV).
Through, Jesus, you witness, with your OWN
eyes, the POWER of the WORD of GOD in ACTION. “…God anointed Jesus of Nazareth (HOW?) with the Holy Ghost and WITH POWER…” (Acts 10:38-39 KJV).
When the WORD of GOD “SPOKE” through Jesus, the WORD ACTIVATED the
confirming WORK of the Holy Spirit. “…The [Holy] ...Spirit of the Lord (the WORD) … anointed [empowered JESUS] to preach the gospel to the poor ... [empowered him] to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty
them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord…” (John 4:16-21 KJV). “… [Jesus was EMPOWERED by the Holy
Spirit and he] went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; [BECAUSE] ...GOD WAS WITH HIM…” (Acts 10:38-39
KJV).
The credibility of Jesus, as the WORD of
GOD, was solely dependent upon the WORKS “DONE” by the Holy Spirit, which was the SOURCE of Jesus, the Living Word’s
POWER.
Jesus, also named the WORD of GOD, gives
CREDENCE to the calling upon his life and his purpose. “… He
(Jesus) had a name written, that no man knew … his name is called The
Word of God…” (Revelation 19:12-13 NASB).
The VOICE of God is heard in Jesus’ every
WORD. When Jesus (the Word of God)
PREACHED, his WORDS had the POWER to SAVE. “… [The] Good News about Christ (or the WORD of GOD)…
is the power of God
at work (miraculously), saving
everyone who believes…” (Romans 1:16 NLT). “…BY THE
WORD of the Lord [you are SAVED]…” (Psalms 33:6 NASB).
“…All things came into being (including SALVATION) through Him (the WORD of GOD), and apart from [the WORD of GOD] nothing
came into being that has come into being … (John 1:1-4 NASB).
Jesus, The WORD of GOD, has the POWER to
HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, SET THE CAPTIVES FREE, RETURN SIGHT TO THE BLIND, FREE
PEOPLE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN, DELIVER DEMONIACS, AND DO GOOD. “…The Spirit of the Lord … anointed [him] to preach
the gospel to the poor; he hath sent [him] to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord…” (John 4:16-21 KJV). “…[AND HE]…went about doing good,
and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for
GOD WAS WITH HIM…” (Acts 10:38-39 KJV).
“…All things [COME] into being through Him (the WORD of GOD), and apart from [the WORD of GOD] nothing
[COMES] into being that [WILL or HAS] come into being …
(John 1:1-4 NASB).
Every SAVED person has TASTED the goodness
of the WORD through salvation. “… [The WORD
of GOD]… is the
power of God at work (miraculously), saving everyone who believes…”
(Romans 1:16 NLT). “…BY THE WORD of the Lord [you are SAVED]…” (Psalms 33:6 NASB).
HOW?
“…If any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE …”
(2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV). “… [New creations]… are HIS workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works …”
(Ephesians 2:10 KJV). “…it is God which
worketh in [new creations]…” (Philippians 2:13 KJV). “…NOT that
[new creations]… are ADEQUATE IN [THEMSELVES]… to consider anything as coming
from [themselves]… but [THEIR]… ADEQUACY IS FROM GOD…” (2 Corinthians 3:5 NASB). “…Now GOD GIVES [new creations] many kinds of special
abilities … (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “… The ...
Holy Spirit ... is the source of ... all ... [special abilities done by new
creations]… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…There are different kinds of
service to God …but it is the same GOD WHO “DOES” THE WORK IN
AND THROUGH ... [new
creations]... who are his… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…The
Holy Spirit “displays” God’s power THROUGH
each [new creation]… … (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT). “…It is the ... Holy Spirit who gives [new
creations]... all these gifts and powers, deciding which each one of [them]
should have… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT).
“…
[You are] ... a NEW creature: …” (2
Corinthians 5:17 KJV). “…old things are passed away…” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV). “…ALL THINGS are become NEW…” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV). “…God has given [you] HIS [HOLY] ...Spirit
as PROOF that … he [dwells]…in
[you]…” (1 John 4:13 NLT “…God … SENT forth the Spirit of His Son (the WORD) “INTO”
[Y]OUR… HEARTS (core of the SOUL)…” (Galatians 4:6 NASB).
“…The Spirit of God dwell[s]
in you (is joined to your SOUL again)…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…GOD IS SPIRIT…”
(John 4:24 KJV). “…THE WORDS ... they ARE SPIRIT (God)…” (John 6:63
KJV). “…the Word was God…
(John 1:1-4 NASB).
“…
[The WORD of GOD]... liveth in
[you]…” (Galatians 2:20 KJV).
“…[New creations]... can do all things through
Christ (the word) which strengtheneth [them]…”
(Philippians 4:13 KJV).
“… [God,
the Holy Spirit] grant[s]… [new
creations]… to
be strengthened with might by his [holy] ... Spirit in the inner man…” (Ephesians 3:16 KJV).
“… The God of peace … that great
Shepherd of the sheep, equip[s] [new creations]... with everything good for doing his will, and …work[s] in [new creations]…
what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for
ever and ever. Amen…” (Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV). “…NOW UNTO [THE WORD OF GOD]... THAT IS “ABLE” TO DO… according to the [HOLY]...
POWER that worketh in [new creations]…”
(Ephesians 3:20 KJV).
“…I
am the Lord, the God of all flesh:
is there any
thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27 KJV). “…The things which are impossible with men are possible with
God…” (Luke 18:27 KJV).
“….Apart from Me (God,
the Holy Spirit), [new creations]... can do nothing…” (John 15:5 NIV). “…[A new creation’s]...
great power is from God…” (2
Corinthians 4:5-7 NLT).
“…BY THE WORD of the Lord [you are INDWELLED with GREAT POWER]…”
(Psalms 33:6 NASB). “…His divine ...
[indwelling] ... power hath given [new creations] ... ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness…”
(2 Peter 1:3 KJV).
“…All things [COME] into being through Him (the WORD of GOD), and apart from [the WORD of GOD] nothing
[COMES] into being that [WILL or HAS] come into being …
(John 1:1-4 NASB). “... O TASTE and “see”
that [Word of GOD]... is GOOD...”
(Psalms 34:8 KJV).
“...BLESSED
(happy, nourished) is the man (woman) that trusteth in him (depend upon him)...” (Psalms 34:8 KJV).
The WORD of GOD nourishes the SOUL and
EMPOWERS the INDWELLING Holy Spirit
to work “IN” and “THROUGH” new creations!
However, “... [to] ... those who
have ... tasted the goodness of the Word of God
… and ... then
turn away from God...”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
“… repent and DO the first works [with the WORD of GOD]…”
(Revelation 2:5 KJV).
“…EXCEPT YE REPENT, ye shall all likewise PERISH…”
(Luke 13:3 KJV).
