"THOSE"
“… For it
is impossible to bring back to repentance "those" who
were once enlightened—"those" who have
experienced the good things of heaven and shared
in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the
power of the age to come— and who
then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people
back to repentance;
by rejecting the
Son of God, they ("those")themselves are nailing him to the cross
once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
*
It is
IMPOSSIBLE to BRING BACK "THOSE" or assist "THOSE" in RETURNING to a previous condition
of REPENTANCE. During the process of repentance the INNER MAN (WOMAN) is being
“RENEWED.” “.. our inner man is
being renewed day by day...” (2 Corinthians 4:16 NASB). “...the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created
him...” (Colossian 3:10 NASB).
“....Let the [Holy] ...Spirit renew your thoughts and
attitudes....” (Ephesians 4:23 NLT). “…Be transformed by the renewing
of [your] mind….”
(Romans 12:2 KJV). “… We
all … are changed
(transformed, RENEWED) into the same image [of Christ] from glory to
glory …” (2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV).
“….let us make man in “our” image,
after our likeness…”
(Genesis 1:26 KJV). “…..God created man in his own image…..male and female created he
them…” (Genesis 1:27 KJV). “….God formed man of the dust of the ground (BODY), and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life (HOLY SPIRIT); and man became a living soul (SOUL)…” (Genesis 2:7 KJV).
The INDWELLING Holy Spirit is EMPOWERING the RENEWAL. “…That great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you (through the indwelling Holy Spirit) with
everything good for doing his will, and may he work “IN US” (through the
indwelling holy spirit) what
is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ …” (Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV). “…It is God which worketh IN YOU (THROUGH his indwelling Holy Spirit) both to
will and to do of his good pleasure…”
(Philippians 2:13 KJV). “…the Father that dwelleth in [YOU], he doeth the
works (the holy spirit doeth the works of renewal)…”
(John 14:10 KJV).
The
Holy Spirit INDWELLS within and DEVELOPS the SPIRITUAL
LIFE. “... He
saved us ... by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit...” (Titus 3:5 NASB). “… [God,] the Holy
Spirit gives birth to SPIRITUAL LIFE…”
(John 3:6 NLT). “…GOD, [the Holy Spirit] IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…God [the Holy Spirit SENDS] … forth the Spirit
of His Son
(WORD) “INTO” [Y]OUR HEARTS…” (Galatians 4:6 NASB).
“…God
[the Holy Spirit] has given [you] HIS Spirit as PROOF (TO CONFIRM) … he [dwells]…in
[you]…” (1 John 4:13 NLT).
“…The
[Holy] Spirit of God dwell in you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,
and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV). “…God hath said, I will dwell in them, and
walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people…” (2
Corinthians 6:16 KJV).
The indwelling
Holy Spirit RENEWS or RESTORES a WHOLENESS to the repentant by reviving
them through HIS INNER POWER to the FULLNESS of a LIVING SOUL again!
God is a “…restorer of thy life…”
(Ruth 4:15 KJV). “…He
restoreth my SOUL…” (Psalm
23 KJV). “…The law of the LORD (the WORD
of God) is perfect, restoring the SOUL…” (Psalm 19 NASB). “….He (the WORD OF GOD) restoreth my soul….” (PSALM 23:1-3 NLT). “…I (God, the holy spirit) will restore…”
(Jeremiah 30:17 KJV). “…the Holy Spirit gives birth to (or restores) SPIRITUAL LIFE…” (John 3:6 NLT). “….Jesus
Christ (the WORD of GOD) maketh thee WHOLE (AGAIN)…” (Acts 9:34
KJV). “... and man became
a
living soul
…” (Genesis 2:7 KJV).
However, “…
it is impossible
to bring back to repentance "those" who were once
enlightened—"those" who have
experienced the good things of heaven and shared
in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the
power of the age to come— and who
then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people
back to repentance;
by rejecting the
Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross
once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
It is IMPOSSIBLE, the
bible says, to BRING BACK to REPENTANCE those
ONCE enlightened, WHO HAVE experienced good things from heaven, WHO HAVE partook of the Holy Spirit, WHO HAVE tasted
the Word of God, and WHO HAVE witnessed the power of God to come.
WHO? THOSE
who WERE enlightened: “… His (Jesus) name is called The Word of God…”
(Revelation 19:12-13 NASB). “… I am (jesus, the word of god) the light of the
world..." (John 9:5, 8:12 KJV). “... the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake,
O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light... (Ephesians
5:19 NLT).
”
“…THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK unto you, they ARE SPIRIT…” (John
6:63 KJV). “…God is Spirit …” (John 4:24 KJV). “…the Word was
God …
(John 1:1-4 NASB). “… I am the light of the
world..." (John 9:5, 8:12 KJV). “...
He (THE WORD) is a light to reveal God to the nations...” (Luke 2:32 NLT). “.. A Light of revelation...” (LUKE 2:32 NASB). “…The Light which … enlightens every man…” (John 1:19 NASB).
WHO? THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED the good things of heaven.“...Every
good GIFT and every perfect GIFT is
from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…”
(James 1:17 KJV). “…The HOLY
SPIRIT …gives all these gifts and POWERS… (1 Corinthians 12:4-11
NLT). “…The GIFT by grace……”
(Romans 5:15 KJV). ”… ye [are]…saved through faith…it is the GIFT
of God…” (Ephesians 2:8 KJV). “…The GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ ….”
(Romans 6:23 KJV). “….ye
shall receive the GIFT of the Holy Ghost…”
(Acts 2:38 KJV). “…the GIFT of righteousness…”
(Romans 5:17 KJV). “…I am leaving you
with a GIFT—peace of mind and heart...” (John 14:27 KJV). “… People should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God…” (Ecclesiastes 3:13 NLT). “…God has given us different GIFTS for
doing certain things well…” (Romans 12:6 NLT). “…every
man hath his proper GIFT of God...” (2 Corinthians 7:7 KJV). “…Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable GIFT(S)…”
(2 Corinthians 9:16 KJV). “…his divine power hath given unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness…” (2
Peter 1:3 KJV). “…BLESSED
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who HATH
blessed us with all spiritual blessings … in
heavenly places in Christ…”
(Ephesians 1:3 KJV).
WHO? THOSE WHO HAVE TASTED the goodness of the Word of God. “... O TASTE and “see” that [Word of GOD]... is GOOD: BLESSED (happy, nourished) is
the man (woman) that trusteth in him
(depend upon him)...” (Psalms 34:8 KJV).“…The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of
the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing
the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the
LORD are true; they are righteous
altogether. They are more desirable
than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter
also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned. In keeping them
there is great reward …” (Psalm 19:7-11 NASB).“All scripture is given by INSPIRATION of God …” (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV). “... Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy
and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of
hosts...” (Jeremiah 15:16
NASB). “... How sweet are Your words to my taste!
Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalms 119:103 NASB). “... He said to me, "Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your body
with this scroll which I am giving you." Then I ate it, and it
was sweet as honey in my mouth...” (Ezekiel 3:3 NASB).
WHO? THOSE WHO HAVE SHARED with the Holy Spirit. God
says, “…..I… [LOVE YOU]… with an everlasting love…” ….and [you say,]… [YOU LOVE GOD]… with all [my]... heart… mind… soul… and understanding….” (Jeremiah 31:3; Romans 12:3 KJV). “…GOD, [the Holy Spirit]
IS SPIRIT…” (John 4:24 KJV). “…God [the Holy Spirit SENDS]
… forth the Spirit of His Son (WORD) “INTO” [Y]OUR HEARTS…”
(Galatians 4:6 NASB). “…God [the Holy Spirit] has given
[you] HIS Spirit as PROOF (TO CONFIRM) … he [dwells]…in
[you]…” (1 John 4:13 NLT).
“…The
[Holy] Spirit of God dwell in you…” (Romans 8:9 KJV). “…The Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV). “…God hath said, I will dwell in them…” (2
Corinthians 6:16 KJV).“…He that is joined
unto the Lord is ONE spirit… [with
him]…” (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV).
WHO? THOSE WHO HAVE TASTED the POWER of the
world to come. “… the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the
Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs…”
(Matthew 16:20 NLT). “… God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various
miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose…”
(Hebrews 2:4 NLT). “…The disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through
them, confirming
what they said by many miraculous signs…” (Mark 16:20 KJV). “…
he
hath done
marvellous things…” (Psalm 98:1 KJV). “…I’ve … done
it … so you will know that I am the Lord…” (Exodus 10:1-2 NLT). “… Then you will
know that I am the Lord
your God…’” (Exodus 16:12 NLT). “…For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were EYEWITNESSES of his majesty….” (2
Peter 1:16 NLT). “…those
who from the first were EYEWITNESSES and servants of the Word…”
(Luke 1:1-2 NLT). “….Even as they
delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were EYEWITNESSES, and ministers of the Word…”
(Luke 1:1-2 KJV). “…And we are witnesses of
all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in
Jerusalem…” (Acts 10:38-39 KJV).
THUS, “… It is impossible to bring such
people (‘those”) back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they
themselves
are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
As I said before the
REFUTERS OF “ONCE SAVED; ALWAYS SAVED”
AGREE THAT A TRUE BELIEVER IS SAVED, BUT IF THEY ARE LIVING AS A PAGAN WHERE THEY HAVE FALLEN FROM GRACE, THEY CAN BECOME JUST AS ETERNALLY LOST
AS THE “PROFESSED” BELIEVER or the NON-BELIEVER AND ARE
“NOT” GUARANTEED TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE.
On
the other hand, the SUPPORTERS of “ONCE
SAVED; ALWAYS SAVED” SAY: THE UNREPENTENT, “TRUE” BELIEVER IS SAVED, BUT THEY ARE LIVING IN A “TEMPORARY” STATE OF PAGANISM (FALLEN FROM GRACE AND ACTING LIKE A PAGAN),
BUT GOD WILL “CORRECT” THEM SO THEY WILL “STILL” INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE.
We LOOKED AT SCRIPTURE regarding “ONCE SAVED: ALWAYS SAVED” AND you must decide
for YOURSELF whether you are a SUPPORTER or REFUTER of this DOCTRINE.
SUPPORTERS and REFUTERS of “ONCE SAVED; ALWAYS SAVED” can DEBATE
their opinions until Christ’s return, but the SAVED should want to KNOW the
TRUTH! “... This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last
day. For this
is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son (beholds the Word) and believes in Him (depends upon the Word)
will have eternal life, and I Myself (the Word) will raise him up on the last day...” (John 6:39-40 NASB).
This VERSE does
not SAY anything about ALWAYS being SAVED, but it does reflect God’s WILL and heart’s desire about the SAVED.
God’s WILL is NOT to LOSE any of the SAVED and his WILL is to RAISE them
up on the last day. HIS WILL bespeaks
of HIS SIDE of the commitment. He TRULY doesn’t
WANT anyone to perish. God “….is ... NOT WILLING that any should perish, but that ALL should come to
repentance…” (2 Peter 3:9 KJV).
God’s will and heart’s desire is “NOT” to
LOSE any one, but to raise them up on that last day, and that NONE perish. Nonetheless,
MANY will be lost, won’t be raised up on the last day, and will perish anyway. WHY? “…He that believeth on him is not condemned: but HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY,
because HE HATH
NOT BELIEVED in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION, that light
is come into the world, and MEN LOVED DARKNESS RATHER THAN LIGHT, because THEIR DEEDS WERE
EVIL. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved…” (John 3:18-20 KJV).
In
addition, “... Do not quench (extinguish, put out, cut off, remove, etc.)
the
[Holy]... Spirit...” (1 Thessalonians 5:19 NASB).
“…Your INIQUITIES (sinful practices) … separated … you and your God…”
(Isaiah 59:2 KJV). Even
though, “... In Him ..,
you WERE SEALED … WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE …” (Ephesians 1 NLT). “... the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit ...” (Hebrews 4:12 NASB).
THE WORD SAYS: “...Take heed, BRETHREN (fellow believers), lest there be in any of you an evil
heart of unbelief, in
departing from the living God...” (Hebrews 3:12 KJV). “...If ye continue in the faith (continue depending upon
god) ... and be not
moved away from the hope of the gospel ...” (Colossians 1:22-23 KJV).
The
sin of an evil HEART of UNBELIEF
will CUT you OFF from God, the Holy Spirit
and cut asunder the SEAL. “…Your
INIQUITIES (evil heart of unbelief) … [WILL separate] … you and your God…”
(Isaiah 59:2 KJV). “…You have been cut off from
Christ! You have fallen
away from God’s GRACE…”
(Galatians 5:4 NLT). God NEVER changes. “…I change NOT…”
(Malachi 3:6 KJV). “…It’s YOUR SINS (an
evil heart of unbelief)
that … [will] ...cut
you off
from God…” (Isaiah 59:2 NLT).
From the “ONCE SAVED;
ALWAYS SAVED” perspective, an unrepentant mind, which is an unchanged mind, can
either be a professed believer, who was NEVER SAVED in the first place, OR a true believer, who IS SAVED, but is living in a TEMPORARY state of disobedience.
The BIBLE “DOES” NOT
called “THOSE,” in the book of
Hebrews, professed believers, true believers, or backsliding believers, or
non-believers, but the bible DISTINCTLY describes who “THOSE” are: “… those
who were once
enlightened—those
who have
experienced the good things of heaven and shared
in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the power
of the age to come— and who
then turn away from God. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
In the “ONCE SAVED:
ALWAYS SAVED” debate the PROFESSED
BELIEVER only “CLAIM” to be SAVED, but in REALITY “NEVER” accepted Jesus
Christ, “NEVER” had the indwelling Holy
Spirit, was “NEVER” made WHOLE again, and thus, was “NEVER” freed from SIN.
“…If we “SAY”
that we have fellowship with him, and WALK IN DARKNESS (unrepentent), WE LIE, and DO NOT THE TRUTH…” (1 John 1:6
KJV). Therefore, they should “…Bring forth
therefore fruits (such as spiritual fruit) worthy of REPENTANCE (a true change
of mind), and begin NOT to
say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That
God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the
axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not
forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. And the
people asked him, saying, What shall we
do then? He
answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him
impart to him that hath none…”
(Luke 3:8-11 KJV). “…REPENT…”
(Acts 17:30 KJV).
Further, the supporters also believe the TRUE BELIEVER “IS” SAVED,
and HAS accepted Jesus Christ, but is “said” to be TEMPORARILY LIVING in
DISOBEDIENCE. However, they have “the
indwelling Holy Spirit and therefore, ARE “new creations” whom God will eventually discipline and RETURN them
to fellowship with other SAVED believers. “... I can
hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among
you—something that even pagans (non-saved) don’t do. I am told that a
man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother. You are so
proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your
fellowship. Even though I (Apostle Paul) am not with you in person, I am
with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man in the name of the Lord
Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present with you in
spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus. Then you must throw this
man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed[ and he himself will
be saved on the day the Lord
returns...” (1
Corinthians 5:1-5 NLT).
“If you are not disciplined – and everyone undergoes discipline – then
you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters [of God] at
all” (Hebrews 12:8 NIV).“….For
whom the Lord loveth he CORRECTETH……” (Proverbs 3:12 KJV). "…I will not travel among you, for you
are a stubborn and rebellious people. If I did, I would surely destroy you
along the way” (Exodus 33:3 NLT).
“…“You are a stubborn and rebellious people…” (Exodus 33:5 NLT) “…My people would not listen to me. They kept doing whatever they
wanted, following the stubborn desires
of their evil hearts. They went
backward instead of forward”
(Jeremiah 7:24 NLT). “But when the judge died, the
people returned to their corrupt ways, behaving worse than those who had lived
before them. They went after other gods, serving and worshiping them. And they refused to give up their evil
practices and stubborn ways”
(Judges 2:19 NLT). “Then
they will not be like their ancestors—stubborn,
rebellious, and unfaithful, refusing
to give their hearts to God
(PSALM 78:8 NLT) “For I know how stubborn and obstinate you are. Your necks are as
unbending as iron. Your heads are as hard as bronze”
(ISAIAH 48:4 NLT). “Instead, they have stubbornly followed their own
desires and worshiped the images of Baal, as their ancestors taught them”
(JERMIAH 9:14 NLT). “And you are even worse than your ancestors! You stubbornly follow your own evil desires
and refuse to listen to me” (JEREMIAH 16:12 NLT). “But the people replied, “Don’t waste your
breath. We will continue to live
as we want to, stubbornly following our own evil desires” (JEREMIAH
18:12 NLT).
God often asked his
self-willed children, in the Old Testament, not to “…harden
[their] hearts...” (Psalm 95:8 NLT). Often God “…opened [his] arms to them, but they were [continually] stubborn and rebellious..”(Romans 10:21
NLT). God kept looking for “…honesty. [He] struck [his
children], but
they paid no attention. [He] crushed them, but they refused to be corrected. They
[were] determined, with faces set like stone; [and] they
… refused to repent” (JEREMIAH 5:3 NLT). “… We will continue to live
as we want to, stubbornly following our own evil desires” (JEREMIAH
18:12 NLT).
Thus, in
this THIRD group, the bible calls, “THOSE,”
they were ONCE (upon a time) enlightened, experienced the good things of
heaven, tasted the goodness of God’s Word, participated with the Holy Spirit, and witnessed the power
of the world to come.
In the ONCE SAVED:
ALWAYS SAVED” debate the “professed”
believer and the “true” believer
have UNREPENTANT mindsets. They BOTH need to hear the GOSPEL that will LEAD
them BOTH to REPENTANCE (a change of mind). God
“….is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING that
any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance…” (2
Peter 3:9 KJV). “…The Lord isn't really
being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for YOUR SAKE. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but
wants everyone to repent…” (2 Peter 3: 9 NLT).
“…
The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering,
and abundant in goodness and truth…” (Exodus 34:6 KJV). “…But you, Lord, are a compassionate and
gracious God, slow
to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness…” (Psalm 86:16
NIV).
“…Don't
you see how wonderfully kind …God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you?
Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn
you from your sin?” (Romans 2:4 NLT).
The UNREPENTANT mind REJECTS God’s TRUTH
and NEEDS to HEAR his TRUTH through gentle LOVE and instruction, in HOPE, that
they will eventually REPENT. “... Gently
instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God
will change those people’s hearts, and they
will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and
escape from the devil’s trap. For they
have been held captive
by him to do whatever he wants... (2 Timothy 2:25-25 NLT).
In the “ONCE SAVED;
ALWAYS SAVED” debate, the unrepentant, professed believer, will be LOST
forever in his or her sins, but the unrepentant, true believer, will
“STILL” be SAVED regardless of their earthly sinful lifestyle. However, the “THOSE,” in the Hebrews 6:4-8 group,
FACE an IMPOSSIBLE “RETURN” to repentance. “… It is impossible to bring such
people (‘those”) back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they ("those")themselves
are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
In the “ONCE SAVED;
ALWAYS SAVED” debate both sides agree that there is the UNREPENTENT professed believer and the UNREPENTENT
“TRUE” believer, but the “THOSE” group CANNOT BE ignored and must be included too.
Regardless of the
CATEGORY, the UNREPENTENT person, “WILL” NOT INHERIT eternal life. The professed believer must CHOOSE to be
sincerely SAVED and the true believer
must CHOOSE to be corrected BEFORE the END of the AGE! “...HE THAT “SHALL” (WILL) ENDURE UNTO THE END SHALL (WILL) BE SAVED...” (Matthew 24:13 KJV).
“...BRETHREN
(fellow believers)... you were called to
freedom ... only... do not turn your
freedom into an opportunity for the flesh...“
(Galatians 5: 13a KJV). “... Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are:
immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery,
enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions,
factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things
like these, of which I forewarn you, just
as I have forewarned you, that those who
practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God...” (Galatians 5:19-21 NASB).
“…Many will say to me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
and in thy name have cast out devils? and
in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess
unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity…”
(Matthew 7:22-23 KJV). “…depart
from me, ye
that work iniquity…”
(Matthew 7:22-23 KJV).
The bible says, “…REPENT
(change your mind) …AND BELIEVE the Gospel (choose to depend upon God’s Word)…”
(Mark 1:15 KJV).
An EVIL
HEART of UNBELIEF is the ROAD to APOSTASY
for ANYONE or EVERYONE, who is UNREPENTENT and who willfully and voluntarily
RETURN to or REMAIN in a SINFUL LIFESTYLE. “...Take heed, BRETHREN
(fellow believers), lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God...” (Hebrews 3:12 KJV). “...If ye continue in the
faith (depending upon god) ... and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel ...” (Colossians 1:22-23 KJV).
“THOSE”
of HEBREWS had EVERYTHING they NEEDED to LIVE FREE from a sinful lifestyle and
have willfully or voluntarily CHOOSEN to RETURN to their former sinful
lifestyle. “…You have fallen away from God’s GRACE…”
(Galatians 2:21 NLT). “… REMEMBER
THEREFORE FROM WHENCE THOU ARE FALLEN …”
(REVELATION 2:2 KJV).
They are NOT living a sinful lifestyle
because they HAVE too, but because they WANT TO. “…His
DIVINE POWER hath given
unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness…” (2 Peter 1:3
KJV). “...BRETHREN (fellow believers)... you were called to freedom...“
(Galatians 5: 13a KJV)
“…But
my people would not listen to me.
They kept doing
whatever they wanted, following the stubborn desires of their evil hearts. They
went backward instead of forward”
(Jeremiah 7:24 NLT). “But the people replied, “Don’t
waste your breath. We will continue to live as we want to,
stubbornly following our own evil desires”…”
(JEREMIAH 18:12 NLT).
“…for years on end my people
have FORGOTten ME…” (Jeremiah 2:32 NLT). “…They ABANDONED ME and did not obey my word….”
(JEREMIAH 16:11 NLT). “…they
turned their backs on him….”
(2 Chronicles 29:6 NLT).
“… It is
impossible to bring such
people (‘those”) back
to repentance;
by rejecting the
Son of God, they ("those") themselves are nailing him to the cross
once again and holding him up to public shame. …”
(Hebrews 6:4-8 NLT).
THOSE
are “NOT” the SAVED who struggle to live righteous, who allow the Holy Spirit to assist them in working on their many
imperfections, who are weak at times, who are penitent, who fall into
temptations or periods of backsliding, but THOSE
are they who
have willfully or voluntarily fallen away or departed from God, the Holy Spirit.
They "THOSE" have rejected the
Son of God, fallen away his enlightenment, stopped participating with his Holy
Spirit, turned away from the goodness of his Word, turned away from the good things from heaven,
and turned away from the power of the age to come.
THOSE
are the ONES that it “IS” impossible to BRING BACK to REPENTANCE.
"those" who "have".....
